Aren't you glad you called the police? Imagine having to deal with that yourself. They probably would have maced you, and if you were lucky, it would have just been the kind that stings your eyes.

I still advise setting up the camera. Even though the police told them that they're out of line, they still might escalate this, and take to more extreme vandalism, then claim innocence from lack of evidence.

And should that happen, there's another plus to having called the police already - now one officer knows that these two are a potential source of difficulty.
 
Dude, tell them you're going to deport them. Even now that you called the police I'd have at least pressed charges...or I'd seek my own revenge.
