I usually crash over at my girls house and park on the street. Typically there is parking directly in front of her house, but depending on who is over, I sometimes have to park further down the street. Well one morning, I come back to my car and there is a note saying "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARK IN FRONT OF MY PROPERTY". I didn't move my car right, away and came back about an hour later and another note had been placed "BE SELF RESPECTED!". I thought it was comical, but chose to park further away to avoid this sh|t.

Speed up to this week, two nights ago I parked there again because someone was having a party and it was pretty much the only place available. So I parked there, next morning there is a note saying "NOT ALLOWED" and there was some substance on the passenger side of the windshield, which turned out to be glue. Not a ton, but enough to annoy me. I went and knocked on their door which they didn't answer. So basically I said 'fck them' I can park on this public street wherever I want and parked there again last night. Glue all smeared on the driver side of my windshield. So I will be returning to their place again tonight... I'll let you know how it goes.

Any suggestions on how to get the glue off?

UPDATE:
Well I decided to just call the police and have them confront the neighbors so I couldn't be accused of anything. I pulled up in front of the perps house and was just going to wait in my car for the police, when two Asian women ran out screaming at me.
"YOU MUST GO!"
They continued to yell at me about how I wasn't allowed to park there, and I informed them that I had contacted both the police and HOA to ensure I was in the right... they said "WE DON'T ACCEPT THAT". Terrific. So I let them know that the police were on their way and we could just wait for them. They continued to hound me about moving my car, their property, and other nonsense. I asked them if they had put the glue on my car, to which the older woman kind of just gave me a smug look and was like "i understand" (her english was fairly broken), more or less admitting to it.

They then began to yell "White Trash!" at me in a very funny accent. It was almost too much, but I contained my laughter. They went back into their house, while I waited next to my car for the cops. Occasionally they would open their door, scream "WHITE TRASH", give me the finger, and then slam the door. It was all highly entertaining.

Finally the cops arrived. I showed them my vehicle, explained the note/glue and that I wasn't pressing charges, just wanted to let them know it wasn't alright what they had done. They asked for the note, and then showed it to the women asking if they had written it. They informed him that they had, then he asked about the glue.. and they were like "uhhh, no!" it was pretty much the worst lie you have ever seen. They argued with the cops for a while and the cop finally told them to shut it. The other officer was like, geezus, i would have pressed charges. Finally the cop walked them down to the front of their yard and said "Do you see this curb?? This is where your property ends and where public property begins. Where HE can park." They were not having it. Finally the cop came over to me and let me know they he was going to stay with them for a while and see if they would cool off, but if I wouldn't mind leaving since I was making them so angry. Fine by me. Awesome stuff.

I recorded some audio as well... may post that later.

try acetone. My wife drove over freshly painted road lines a couple of years ago and got road paint all over the car:disgust: I was able to rub it out with acetone.

don't really have proof that they did it... I didn't see them, neither did anyone else. Obviously it was. Anyways, I'm going to set up a webcam since I can see their place and my car from my girls window.

they don't own the street, as long as you are legally parked you should be fine. give them a note about how much it is for a new windshield, and tell them that if you do not receive a check for the full amount that you will bring them to court. as long as you have pictures and a receipt there is no way you will not win. ( and they will then have to pay the legal costs too!)

I'm not normally one to call the cops but in this case I would and I'd show them that note and the glue and let them deal with the crazy folks.

Hide in the bushes near your car, and when the person starts to vandalize it, sneak up behind them and taser them.

When they wake up in a puddle of their own urine/feces and have no idea wtf happened, maybe they will think twice about vandalizing your car.

Razor blade.

And call the cops, this idiot has no right to harrass you like that. That stupid twat doesn't own the street, as long as there are no city laws against you parking there he has no right to demand that you move your car. I hope you kept the notes.

"It's a trap!"

Seriously, set up a trap operation, and nail the bastid.

Do you leave the car there overnight?

Alot of places have a no-parking law on the streets 2am-7am. Its not usually enforced though, unless someone complains about it.

Setup a hidden camcorder (preferably inside the car pointing out if a battery will last that long). Otherwise from the house zoomed real far in. Then get the tape, take it to the cops, and ahve him arrested for damaging private property. Also have him pay for you to get a new window.

It's still not his place or within his right to vandalize someone's car even if there is such a law.
