The validity of the science has literally nothing to do with how its proponents conduct their lives.
We know. You're one of the "do as I say" types.

No. If one truly believes that the science is valid, one should live according to that belief. Otherwise, one is a hypocrite. And since they're the ones who are pushing this 'belief structure', how valid can it be? When I see these televangelists living by the science, I'll take what they're preaching seriously.
I'm willing to bet that my carbon footprint is significantly smaller than nearly every person on this board.
Now I know you're just making things up, but why did you choose something so easily disproven?

Ok, I am not a climate scientist. I don't have the credentials to examine the data. Hell, I don't even know who the climate scientists are so I can listen to them. I have to take my data from sources I know, or alternatively I can trust someone whom I know is honest who says that another source is knowledgeable. It is a trust issue. The problem is, someone like Al Gore, I trust him a little bit. I know he is no snake oil salesman, so I trust him that the people who say global warming is super important because I don't know enough to judge them. Also, you can't just say they are scientists, remember the tobacco companies had doctors who said smoking is harmless. The problem is, the person I am getting this information from is not acting like it is important. When the people who warn me about global warming are not doing all they can to reduce their output, I tend to ignore them.
It is like Ghandi telling me to be peaceful while carrying an RPG, or a man telling me that we need to run for our lives while he calmly eats an ice cream cone. The actions of the people who are warning us are very important, and they may be the primary reason this problem is not being viewed as important.
You lived in Germany and drove to Canada etc. on your off days? I think you need a bit of clarification there, I at least am not getting what I am sure is your intent for the separation in the two lists.
There are litterally tens of thousands who offer differing views of global warming and climate change. They are almost never heard from.
Anyone else ever realize the similarity of the words "Scientology" and "Climatology"?
Seriously, regardless of what the "scientists" and media are telling us that the "science" and "data" say, the conclusions cannot really be all that dire if the people chiefly responsible for perpetuating the "science" do not themselves take it seriously.
There are litterally tens of thousands who offer differing views of global warming and climate change. They are almost never heard from. All we hear about are these same people who are burning more fuel and creating more emmisions in one trip to Europe on a private jet than the average citizen does in all of their activities over the course of a year.
It's the epitome of hypocrisy.
1200 limos? damn i didnt think they had that many in Europe.
i knew there would be one who would say "wow, you lived in Germany and you drove to Canada..." where is the rollyes icon when you need it.
no dumbass i drove to Canada while i lived in North Dakota have driven in Mexico many times and I flew to Panama in a C-141.
the purpose of the separated list is to show that i have been to more countries than most people have been to US states.

There are literally thousands who believe they've been kidnapped by aliens, there is a reason no one cares what they think either.
LOL My college chemistry prof said the same thing. We don't create radioactivity, we simply concentrate it, so if you want a good way to get rid of it just punch a tiny hole in the barrels and dump them in the ocean and let it slowly disperse back into the environment.I had an inorganic prof in college (phD) tell me you could dump nuke waste in ocean with no problem Russians did it for years. I bet he's not invited.

Nobody believes alien stories because the people telling them can't produce any credible evidence. In this case what these people (scientists/climatologists) are trying to say can actually be backed by scientific and historical evidence. Not sure about you but I think it's important to hear from both sides before forming an opinion on an issue like this.
Scientific evidence that only they are allowed to see. When Joseph Smith did it with the golden tablets in his hat most of us laughed, but for some reason when scientists do it we're impressed. I'm not sure why the difference, it sure sounds more like religion than science to me. . .
Well said. When Al Gore says he expects the sea levels to rise meters then buys a condo near the ocean, when he owns multiple large homes and travels weekly on private jets and motorcades in limos and SUVs big enough to carry my Tracker in the back, there are two possible conclusions: (1) He doesn't believe in CAGW at all. (2) He believes in it, but thinks than making the majority live like 17th century peasants whilst he lives like modern royalty is a just and good thing. Or in other words, he is entitled to live like a king even if he is killing the Earth, sacrifice being something good to encourage the little people to do. Neither makes me want to takes anything he says as more than self-serving fluff.
True, but how the proponents conduct their lives is telling on how they view the actual science. Do what I say not what I do fails the validity check at the basic level, even kids know it's bullsh*t when adults try and pull it on them because the person saying it doesn't really believe it, which is why they aren't doing it.The validity of the science has literally nothing to do with how its proponents conduct their lives.
