So a black football player is not allowed to have freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and the right to petition the government.

The five freedoms it protects: speech, religion, press, assembly, and the right to petition the government. Together, these five guaranteed freedoms make the people of the United States of America the freest in the world.

No, I think he has a right to participate in his religion as he sees fit without being punished for it. Freedom of religion. Obviously the SCOTUS thinks so too.

The 1.7 million has nothing to do with grandstanding. It has a lot to do with being fired for Exercising his rights as outlined in the US Constitution. It doesn't matter what color you are or what religion you practice.

They do have all the rights as outlined in the Constitution and Amendments. That doesn't mean injustices do not happen. Injustices happen for many people regardless of their race.

You have a race obsession. You seriously think black people can't Speak Freely, Practice their chosen religion, Have freedom of the press, Can't assemble freely, or petition the government for redress.

These things happen every day for black people football players or not.

The coach was using his government position to promote his brand of religion. He was abusing his position of authority.

Citizens have the right to vote and the Republican Party disenfranchises the black vote. They were caught in court doing this in 3 states. Democrats don't disenfranchise white people.

You don't know what you are talking about.

He was absolutely free to participate in his religion, they did not in any way prevent him from doing so. The SCOTUS case was decided based on lies. He agreed to stop doing it, broke his agreement, they said "yeah, you're on leave, and we're not renewing your contract" and then he sued. If it were anyone else, you wouldn't be defending him, you'd be defending the employer saying they had every right to fire him. You thought it was stupid when you first commented on it.

How is him having a private prayer promoting his brand of religion. Freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

Grandstanding is not a reason to fire someone, it just makes him look foolish. Them firing him for praying was wrong. It is not a firing offense as long as he didn't force or entice his players to participate. He has a right to freedom of religion that is the difference between the two.

Kapernick also had a right to take a knee as he chose to do. I don't agree with his reasoning for doing it, but he has a right to look foolish if he wants.

Did he broadcast his prayer?
No, he didn't.
He was praying on the field after the game.

The court ruled: A divided Supreme Court ultimately ruled that Bremerton coach Joe Kennedy had the right to pray on the field as long as he wasn't coercing others to join him.

"it remains illegal and unethical for public school employees to coerce, pressure, persuade, or force students, players, staff, or other participants to engage in any religious practice as a condition of playing, employment, belonging, or participation."
