But its kind of maddening when you hear about 1-2 drunk driving fatalities per week (Maybe one week per month there isn't one), and damn near every week 1 of those is caused by an illegal Mexican. No, I'm not kidding or blowing it out of proportion.

Out of all the drunk driving related accidents how many are caused by illegal immigrants? per year

Don't come here illegally and you wont be treated like a criminal.

Ms. GLORIA RAMIREZ VARGAS (Politician, Baja, Calif.): (Through Translator) Many Mexicans are nourishing the ground in the U.S., but those lands were once ours. Those same lands, which now with intelligence, with love and with a lot of work, we are re-conquering again for our Mexico.

The right has nuts, the left has nuts, the pro-illegal immigrants have nuts. This statement is far from what most of the other immigrants are saying, including the OP.

8.Protesting HR 4437, boycotting to show power and solidarity.

Funny thing is that the bill you are protesting has 0 chance of passage. The only reason the felony provisions remain in it is that House Democrats refuse to allow its removal so that they can use it as a political issue. The reality is that any bill that will survive to passage will have to reconcile both the House bill and Senate bill and that will not happen with the felony provisions intact unless the politics change greatly. If the pols really want to fix this problem they need to add enforcement provisions that create real consequences to employers that choose to look the other way and employ people not legally entitled to work in the US.

Kind of scary, though, when the Mayor of Los Angeles belonged to Mecha/Atzlan during college (They advocate the re conquering of CA, AZ & other western states).

This movement is BIGGER than what you may think.
Being born in Central America, I was constantly approached by groups of these people when I was in College.

I think that we first need to get control of our borders, then figure out what to do with the illegals already here. Granting them all citizenship will fix nothing. The unions will get ahold of them, they will demand living wages, then companies will start looking for a new batch of illegals to exploit.

It's also funny that Vicente Fox claims that there is no such thing as an illegal alien. Apparently that only applies to aliens in the U.S., as Mexico has one of the harshest immigration laws around. Just try living as an illegal from El Salvador or Guatemala in Mexico and see how long you last.

It's really not that simple, just b/c you commit a crime, doesn't mean you should be treated like a criminal. It's not that black & white.

that makes absolutely no sense. It is black & white, no matter how you want to spin it.

I think I saw that it is something like 20% of Mexico's economy comes from illegal aliens in the U.S. sending money back to Mexico. So, Fox and the rest of Mexico's corrupt politicians are very dependent on this money coming from the United States. That is why they help the illegals cross the border.

It would be nice to see Mexicans protest Mexico's corrupt government that put them in the situation where they have to try and come to the United States illegally for better money.

If it's so easy why don't you let everyone know the process, since you seem to know so much about it?

It's much harder to become a legal citizen here than most people think.

I see it as a black and white issue. I have nothing against immigration...but I do have a LOT against ILLEGAL immigration.

Yes, one can argue that the only "true" Americans are those of American Indian descent (of which I am one); however, there are proper ways to enter the country. Sneaking in under some fence or in some cargo container is NOT the proper way.

I am very much against this protest. There are advantages and disadvantages of illegal aliens in the United States. Yes, the labor is cheap and that brings the cost of goods down but at the same time, they're driving around without licenses, raising our car insurance, committing crimes, and draining the welfare system [and other gov't assistance programs]. I like how they say "We're just here to work" but people forget all the other baggage that comes with cheap labor. Another good one is, "This country was built on immigration" but again, they fail to realize that that was then, this is NOW. "I'm just here to support my family" ... boohoo, that is not our problem. There are millions of people in the same situation -- i.e., all those people in Africa.

I recall in high school going over to my friend's friend's place. He was Hispanic and he had like 9 or 10 brothers and sisters, ranging in all ages and some were even running around in diapers. Here's a thought: How about you illegals not have such a large family if you can't support one? I'm sick and tired of picking up the pieces for them.

How about this.

The US Justice Dept. estimates that illegals make up 1/2 of California's prison population. Hmm, pretty skewed number for the percentage of illegals in the state.

Do these seem like people who are "hard-working" people.
