CNN Demonizes Vaping

They demonize vapers and vape-stores and make it sound as if vape-stores promote the use of drugs.

They didn't need to make it sound as if vape-stores promote the use of drugs. Not when Steve Berg, chief financial officer of O.Pen Vape, does it for them by calling vaping "the future of pot."

Yea some quit nicotine and just enjoy vaping the flavors.

My wife has never smoked in her life and is one of the biggest "I'll never use drugs" person on the planet.

She vary rarely even drinks.

But she did try out a few non nicotine vapes once when I was at a place trying a few flavors out myself, I offered to give here one of mine just to use it as she liked it, but she denied.

Some people do like it just for the taste. I was surprised she even tried it out myself.

Kids want to look cool and want to be rebels. It's always been that way. I'm not surprised at them being increasingly attracted to vaping.

I noticed a sign in the supermarket today that said the legal age to buy cigarettes in my city is now 21. I'm not saying whether I agree with this, but I'm just stating a fact. Plus a pick of cigarettes here costs about $8.50. So it is not surprising that kids have reasons to seek an alternative.

I've never smoked cigarettes, nor do I vape. Back in the 80's before public indoor smoking restrictions, my company decided that there would not be any smoking in buildings, except in designated rooms. For me that was a great decision. While vaping is considered smoking for legal purposes, I suppose that there will be legal challenges to the current laws.

I don't know any place that would allow vaping in the workplace. Not something I would want to do anyway. One guy on my team got sick at the smell of anyone that ate flavored yogurt at their desk.

THC is an easy example. The fact remains that since you have no idea what is in any of the oils there may be harmful substances. Ignorance is not bliss.

Use it's harmful for me to mow over an ant hill and breathe the cloud of dust but that doesn't make it illegal or wrong to mow over an ant hill nor does it mean you are entitled to protections from dust and particulates in the air everywhere you go. Second hand exposure is not the same thing.

Not everything harmful is illegal, nor should it be. Freedom.

The last place I worked at half the people in the place were vaping.

Even the owners daughter, it was just accepted even though the owner specifically said no cigarettes.

Probably psychosomatic too. People claiming vaping causes second-hand irritation are almost certainly in the same category. It's a real irritation, don't get me wrong, but it's just like the Chuck character from Better Call Saul experiencing real pain when he THINKS he's been exposed to EM fields and electronics.

Haha yep that is what I was thinking too. But the dude was a vegetarian too so he was pretty picky about even food.

Prove it. Prove it before you inflict your drug on other people. It took decades to get the current meager legal restrictions on smokers. Fuck if we'll put up with the same shit all over again because asswipes want to inflict their drugs on others.

"Current meager restrictions", are you serious?, you can no longer smoke indoors ANYWHERE with the sole exception of alcohol-only bars (and some of them won't allow it even though they could). It's banned in many outdoor locations as well, ball games, public parks, beaches have all been tagged as no smoking zones. As for "prove it" simple common sense should suffice unless you cannot understand the difference between burning a dried plant and a vapor that quickly dissipates and has no carcinogenic properties to begin with. I just have to LOL at a "inflict your drug" rant when riding behind a semi on the highway is 1000X worse, go back to your sterile bubble before you get infected with something.

But we don't want to breathe your crap. You should be required to wear a special suit that contains all of your crap inside it if you want to smoke in public.

You have the attention span of a gnat, WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT CIGARETTES HERE...Vaping is NOT smoking, geez!.

This is what makes you guys realize CNN is dumb, a vaping article?

Anyway pure nicotine is still bad for you.

It's water vapor. It doesn't do shit to anyone. It's likely cleaner than the soup of disgusting bio matter we all naturally expel from our lungs into the communal breathing space. Everyone is bitching about it because they're afraid that smokers have sidestepped their decree that nicotine is always bad to take in around other people. They demand that all things that take the appearance of smoking must stop, just because. All the rumination about the potentiality of the vapor being bad for ones health is a mask for the underlying feeling of "but we said you can't DO that"!

Same thing. Don't want to breathe your smoke or your vapors.

If I were vaping around you and you told me that it bothered you I would stop. I understand people have the right to breathe unaltered air and I would respect that but I really think the air pollution from many other sources are probably a lot worse than 2nd-hand vapor, just my $2 cents.
