Question Can't access Anandtech or the forums via wi-fi

Did I miss the modem model somewhere? I see the two soho routers, r8k and r7600

If you “modem” has more than one LAN port, it’s probably a router as well, which makes it a “gateway”.

So yea, likely double natted and using the same LAN IP ranges.

basically, both the r8k and r76k should be configured as a WAP.

Connection from the gateway to the two devices should be LAN to LAN.

Both devices should have DHCP service disabled,

Both devices should have an IP manually configured OUTSIDE of the gateways DHCP pool, but in the same subnet.

You can disable the wireless on either device once it’s configured

Both devices will still have 3 LAN ports that get their DHCP+DNS from the gateway

Since we don't really know how this is all put together yet, then the gateway is suspect as well for the original issue.

You're not supposed to connect two different routers to those ports, unless you're paying your ISP for two separate public IPs. Looks like they finally discovered your leaching, and cut you off.

Ok, basically your configuration should have never worked "correctly". It's dual port to support a router that can do LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol), which neither of yours can AFAIK.

Basically, one of your routers should be set to "primary", connected to the Modem. The other router, if you choose to use it, should be configured as "WAP" the way the EZLan link explains.

The link between the two routers should be LAN to LAN, do NOT use the WAN port on the secondary router. Set a manual IP on the secondary, something in the same subnet but outside the DHCP range, disable DHCP and DNS. You want the primary to drive, all requests from clients to go to it with no stops in between.

You should also be able to login to the Modem itself using 192.168.100.1 to see what's up.

OK, but why did it work for 2 years…and why does it only affect the Anandtech sites? If it didn’t work at all, I could understand…but it did…and still does, just not here.

Nah…too many things going on this morning…Maybe this afternoon.

But, on one router, the AT sites connect…on the other, they don’t…but everything else does.

I know it's strange, but when you're running out of spec configs, YMMV.

Just reconfigure a little bit and you should be good to go. Just let us know if you have more questions.

OK, tomorrow I'm going to have to work on this. Tonight, it's even stopping me from accessing AT on my PC and ethernet connection. :colbert: (different router than the one I use for wifi)

Then what errors you were getting on the PC?

Try to clear browser cache (choose 7 days if you don't want to clear all) if you are using Chrome

I’ve cleared the cache for all browsers, run the flush dns cmd, I get the same error I posted a screen pic of earlier in this thread. (Just not the phone version)

So it's working now or not? Have you changed the DNS on the router to suggested public DNS?
