Per the law in Connecticut you kill/severely injure an intruder threatening your wife/child etc YOU most likely end up both in prison AND liable financially.

This isn't "uninformed opinion" it's fact. (to be fair in CT the intruder also gets fvcked most of the time... a "Home Invasion" conviction carries a mandatory minimum of 10 years @ 85% served before parole)

After a while, you have to stop caring for them, because they don't care about themselves or anyone. I fell in his trap and lent him money which turned out was only going towards drugs. These people do not care about anyone, not even themselves. They only care about the next fix and they will steal from their own mother to get it if they have to.

There is help available, but lot of them just refuse it.
