Canada is Dying (documentary)

These people don't care. They still leave them lying around. I couldn't care less if they share among themselves, it's leaving them in public that's the issue and they do it anyway. We shouldn't be catering to these junkies. Let em die, they're doing this to themselves and 100% responsible for their own deaths if they die. Choices have consequences. The same people who were happy to see unvaccinated people die seem to be so eager to save those who are literally injecting disease and hard drugs into their bodies. They are causing so many problems all around they are not worth saving.

What part of clean, free needle clinics that distribute and collect all needles, thus 100% preventing them from being thrown on the streets, do you fucking refuse to understand? This really is the simplest thing for you to address your profound and unapologetic ignorance on the matter: are you at the very least willing to drop this fucking false point because it is demonstrably untrue? Do you care to learn, or are you just going to keep ranting because some fascist propaganda youtube bitch that also doesn't know anything is telling you what you want to believe?

To be fair to Timmins, the Kidd Mine is a major economic producer but the economic activity is likely scored in another jurisdiction.

Tax payers as individual households. The report I posted is from a right wing think tank. I am paying 26,000 in net tax burden while he is at -19... I would rather my tax dollars go to the needy and not the multi property owner leeches like op.

Except they do, they are EVERYWHERE. This is UNDENIABLE. PEOPLE ARE FINDING THEM, IT'S LITERALLY HAPPENING. What is so hard to understand?

Even kids are finding them FFS.

Even MSM is acknowledging it being a problem.

They're even being found in grocery stores too now.

This is a quick album I threw together, these pictures were all from mid june and now except for the last one that was in spring when snow as starting to melt, revealing what's under it.

Most taken from here, that's only 1 of the many pages talking about the problem. It's real.

This is a problem, and the government is enabling it. It was not like this before. Don't know why you're trying to defend it, it's NOT FUCKING WORKING. It's making it worse.

If you still don't believe me I'm going to fill a 5 gal pal myself and show you it. What more proof do you need that this is a problem?

You don't know that, but it doesn't even matter. The fact is that these people are vermin and need to be stopped and their crimes punished. They did it to themselves and deserve zero sympathy, and now we are the victims of their crimes. They steal, vandalize, assault, leave trash and needles everywhere, etc... They are destroying our once nice cities.

You may not understand everything going through a mouse's head while it's chewing your wires in your attic, but surely, you still want it removed right?

Such a good little fundy X-tian...

Can you please stop and read the argument for once? No one is denying that there are needles everywhere.

What we are shitting on you about is the availability of FREE, RECLAIMED needles, because you keep lying about how this is making more needles on the street. It literally doesn't. It reduces that exact problem.

Again, can you please explain how distributing and reclaiming needles, thus removing needles from users, somehow means more needles are ending up on the street? It's been the same simple point this whole time, and you keep fucking ignoring it. The solution to this problem is right there, and all you are doing is complaining about it and saying the known solution is causing the problem.

Please explain to us how clinics that do not allow needles out of their property are somehow responsible for more needles on the street.

Even if by chance the needles used at the clinic don't make it out it does not change the fact that they are enabling the problem. Do you really think these junkies are ONLY using the clinic and not also doing it everywhere else?! Give your head a shake. They step out of there and immediately shoot up another shot while walking around like a zombie.

These drugs are actually suppose to be illegal, so they should actually be enforcing the law and going after the dealers and distributors and shutting these places down not actually giving them a place to do it and thus providing continuous business to all the dealers. Kill off the supply and the problem starts to go away. Even if they are not killed off 100% by reducing the number of them it would drive the drug prices up due to less competition. All the money going towards these clinics need to actually go towards getting rid of the problem altogether. Drugs have always been around but nowhere near to this extent.

Funny thing is it's illegal to have a beer in public but yet these junkies are free to roam all over like zombies and their addiction is even catered to and people like you defend it. No wonder society is breaking down. What's right is wrong and what's wrong is right.

You know you are advocating a policy that has a decades long, proven track record of absolute failure? The U.S. pursued supply control with a vengeance. All it did was enrich the drug dealers, enrich the police state, and spread violence and misery around the world. Entire nations have been destabilized in the war on drugs with resulting floods of refugees. It didn't do a damn thing to rein in the problem of drug abuse. In fact, it took the worst potential outcomes of drug abuse and guaranteed that they occur.

As far as drinking a beer in public goes, alcohol is a far worse drug than most of the illegal drugs, much more damaging to society.

Such a good little fundy X-tian...

certain theology is making a big comeback in the last decade or two, where god doesn't love everyone, he actually hates most everyone and created most people up front with the purpose of hating them. it's seen by many as more logical and all-powerful than theologies where people say "yeah god did technically love these people but stuck them in australia 1000 years ago, so yeaahhh they never had a shot."

and since most people have no hope, if it's meant to be then they'll come around somehow, and if not then they were destined to be destroyed from the start.

it does seem to lead to more of a "don't cry over spilt milk" kind of attitude.

You've got to be kidding me. Wow.

People drinking beer are not breaking into houses, stores, stabbing people, ripping copper pipes and wire out from buildings, ripping parts off cars, walking around like zombies dropping biohazard waste everywhere etc... The ones drinking alcohol are hurting no one, but the crackheads sure are.

Only the excessive drinkers are a problem and even then not as bad as these zombies.

Bar fights, domestic violence, drunken driving, more domestic violence, alcohol absolutely tops the charts on destructive drugs. It just happens to be your drug of choice. There is a reason you can find an AA meeting literally every single day of the week in most towns. Alcohol is bad shit.

It's a neurotoxin but don't worry it doesn't kill good people.

I never said it was perfect but all that is still less bad than all the damage the crackheads do. AA is a good thing for those who have gone too far. Why are you against having something like that but for drugs and instead want to encourage people to continue doing them? We need to end all the drug enabling, and have more rehab centres instead.

And all these drugs aren't?!
You are willfully missing the point. Alcohol is bad; other drugs are bad. People are going to use them anyway. You personally use one of them. Society can best protect itself from the damages caused by drug abuse through addressing the problem as a health issue, not a law enforcement issue. The law enforcement approach brings violence and misery. We know this. We have decades of proof that turning drug abuse reduction into a law enforcement exercise fails and society ends up worse off.

You keep using words like "vermin" and "zombies" to describe addicts and the solutions you propose have words like "kill" and "let them die". You should have left Timmins when the Cowboy Junkies made it big. Did junkies ruin Timmins or is Timmins such a shithole that it ruined people and turned them to drugs?

Thanks to marijuana decriminalization here in Canada, the last ounce of weed I legally bought was about 1/5 the price it would have been 20 years ago in Alberta. That has definitely cut the money and incentive for smugglers and organized crime/distribution more than continuing the prosecution and imprisoning of people for what has essentially proven to be a non-issue. Marijuana decrim wasn't even a freaking blip of a problem and remains so, but admittedly weed isn't heroin (which is why it's classification as such is stupid).
When I was 18 one of my older brothers invited me to a party and I arrived late to a house of people stoned on heroin and a group high on opium. The quietest damn party ever. Having much better things to do I left. Why I left and he stayed is a question I don't have an answer to. He's just retired from a life as an in-demand millwright and designer despite his addiction, but he is one of only two that are still alive that kept in that circle. Most street drug addicts don't make it out, but actively seeking their death is a horrific response to the problem. Give your head a shake and see if there's a chunk of empathy rattlin' around in there. Maybe it'll catch a cog and engage something.

Weed is not really part of the issue. That doesn't have the same bad effects as all the hard stuff that people are doing. The people destroying the city are not the ones doing weed, or drinking alcohol. It's the ones doing meth, cocaine, fentanyl and who knows what else is out there these days. Once you get hooked to that stuff your mind is 110% focused on getting the next fix and doing anything to get it including completely destroying other people's property or even lives. We should have compassion and empathy towards the victims of all this crime, not the actual ones doing it.

wtf are you doing in Alberta? get back home BC man.

As said just above, supply restriction will never work. It hasn't worked. It didn't work for alcohol in the US (except for the mob, they loved it!) You have to somehow reduce the demand, and I have no idea how. More of a focus on mental health and counseling which of course takes a lot of money and effort, something we in the states certainly aren't willing to spend. And if you can't or won't reduce demand, it seems to me legality where at least you are not giving tons of money to cartels is the lesser evil, and these clinics at least might introduce some safety into the equation, even if it's true that nobody uses them 100% of the time.

The biggest way to reduce demand is socioeconomic reform. Reduce wealth inequality, reduce poverty, increase wages, increase education and trade schools, reform the judicial system and law enforcement. You know just basically everything a democrats want to do and absolutely nothing the republicans want to do

This guy is a perfect example of how people become dictatorial, authoritarian and become good little fascists that support the most horrific things. He literally is a case study in the formation of the shittiest people in the populations of human history because he has no concept of anything outside his little bubble. And is totally unwilling to even try to.
With my fundamental principle that humans are NOT rational actors, we are sort of speaking in parallel here.
Exhibit A, this subject.

No argument on wealth inequality (though I don't that much about Canada's situation in that regard). At some point it just can't hold. The greatest trick the devil--er, GOP--ever pulled was getting poor rural whites distracted enough by pumped-up enemies (Antifa, illegals, Sauron, etc) that they keep electing people that enable this (like the big raise the ultra rich got with the tax "reform" a few years back)

Increasing demand and supply sure as hell is not working either though, it's only making it worse. They need to at least TRY to reduce the problem. As a start treat hard drugs the same as alcohol. Make public intoxication illegal, make it illegal to sell without a license, etc. then actually enforce those laws just as hard as they enforce them on alcohol. They also need to give homeowners more power against thieves and trespassers etc. Right now the home owners have less rights, it's retarded. Theft is probably the biggest issue out of all of this. At very least they should focus on that. The people doing drugs in of itself is not so much the issue if they just did it somewhere privately and kept to themselves but the issue is these people steal, assault, vandalize etc. They should be treated like the criminals that they are when they commit those crimes. If any of us did those crimes we'd get in trouble.
