California is going get a stormageddon

I'm taking you too literally? You said you closed your Detroit office every time it rains. That was your whole argument.

If you want to admit that you lied and you don't close the office every time it rains, then just admit it.

How about this, every time this summer. I've never once had a drive in CA that went from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Yet it was a regular thing during the rain this summer...in Detroit.
when we didn't close down an hour or so early, people got stuck.

Wonder if they'll handle this as good as Atlanta did. 😛

We will never let them forget that one. The same way we will never let Toronto forget about the 15cm of snow they had to call the army for. 😛 zomg 15cm!1!!!

That's a standard winter morning here. Brush it off the car and drive off to work.

This. But rudeguy thinks the whole state is like this.

I laughed at the media hype. Same way I laugh when our local media says we are going to get a severe winter storm and we get like 6".

FWIW, I'd be happy if Detroit fell off too. Its a shit hole.

I think *you* were taking me a little too literal. I like some parts of Cali. What part is it that the porn stars are? I like that part.

Where I am it is not supposed to rain until tonight. Should make an interesting drive home. I love driving in the rain.

Yikes. They're saying where I am, bay area, is 6-12 inches of rain by Friday.

It was supposed to start by now but it's just windy at this time.

I don't think most Americans appreciate how much Californians are not used to 'weather events'. It's almost always 'good weather', most others are used to weather problems.

Freaking Emergency Alerts have been going off all morning warning of floods....haha GTFO. Granted, its coming down pretty good, but no need to build an Ark just yet.

Wait, no Ark?

I started building already, I even have two racoons in a burlap sack.

So, why did you guys talk shit when I made fun of the "polar vortex bomb blast storm", but now you agree this "sky ocean" is equally ridiculous? You people make no sense.

Sky Cancer would be a far more interesting headline

Having lived and worked in the DMA for a number of years I am going to go out on a limb and say you really don't know what you are talking about. Hell traffic in the LA area can go from 20 minutes to 2 hours if there is a bird in one of the lanes of the 405. My commute is ~25 minutes home and I have never had it take 2 hours due to rain. Never

Maybe you are fixating on the August storm that is considered a 'once every 300 years event'. Yes people got stuck. Yes there was road flooding. No that does not happen frequently or 'every time it rains'

I'm in OC. I hate LA.

So far just light rain here near downtown San Jose. It was fairly windy this morning, but once the drizzle started the wind seemed to subside.

Waiting for the deluge at 4:30 so 101 will flood when I go home at 5:00. 😀

Every week there's supposedly a new apocalypse that's going to wipe out California and every week it's a lie. I'm tired of getting my hopes up only to wind up disappointed.

We need a storm like this for a month straight to bring us out of any drought. A couple weekends of heavy rain will do little.

edit: apparently not a month straight, but need at least 20 inches to get the state out. That said, if its a drought, the ground won't hold onto water well initially, so I would think that a good thorough one month soaking is still needed.

I had a fun time driving to work this morning. I drove thru deep puddles in my truck that regular cars got stuck in. It was hilarious driving by cars that were stuck.
