Yikes. They're saying where I am, bay area, is 6-12 inches of rain by Friday.

It was supposed to start by now but it's just windy at this time.

I don't think most Americans appreciate how much Californians are not used to 'weather events'. It's almost always 'good weather', most others are used to weather problems.

Meh. Winter storms were not uncommon when I was growing up.

Santa Rosa has gotten 2.48 inches in the last 6 hours. I hope Russian River Brewery hasn't washed away.

Olds, could you do us a favor and and catch the Yosemite valley as it floats by? With the Summer's fires, it's heading right at you.

Hope some of that moisture makes it to CO so that we can get the winter started properly here.

Yeah, our forecast is looking decidedly lame and boring at the moment. Need a few good blizzards, because this season so far has been underwhelming. I'm pretty sure it's because I decided to buy a ski pass this year.

Freaking Emergency Alerts have been going off all morning warning of floods....haha GTFO. Granted, its coming down pretty good, but no need to build an Ark just yet.

Doesn't actually take a lot of rain to create a flash flood near mountains or hilly areas.

Wait, this is rain and not snow? Why are they calling it a winter storm? lol. Welcome to what my city endures 2-3 months of every year. This summer they recorded a period of rain that lasted about 72 hours. Sometimes it would stop for like 5 minutes then resume, so that 72 hours was simply one of those periods out of many. We got pretty much 2 months straight of rain with short breaks in between.

The river was pretty high though and we did get some minor flooding but overall it was not too bad to consider how it just would not quit. Just glad I got my weeping tiles and fondation seal redone a few years back... Lot of basements did get water issues this year because of all the rain.

😀 BTW-The rain is supposed to hit here later tonight. I'm taking tomorrow off. 😎

It was 17 degrees F when I walked out of my house this morning. It was cold enough that my windshield wiper fluid kept freezing when I tried to use it to get the frost off my windshield. Its not even winter yet....

Yea..I hate you Cali fuckers.

Any change from 75 degrees and sunny causes mass hysteria in Southern CA and the TV news station start having a storm watch. Yeah that is how we roll in Cali.
