But you want laws changed to make a current activity no longer illegal. That's like making assault legal and then claim you reduced crime.
Changing the requirements for a driver's license isn't much different than changing the requirements for a fishing license, contractor's license, CPA, or a Bachelor degree. The intent is to set minimum standards and generate revenue. It's a big leap to connect a person's driving ability to their immigration status, gender, or ethnicity, etc.
For some reason, a DL has become an official document used for a bunch of things other than a simple license to drive. And people want to attach even more significance, having it become a license to vote, etc. It doesn't make sense to combine various State licensing arrangements with Federal immigration or Constitutional issues because there is little legal backbone to support it. For ex. a State can decide to no longer issue licenses of any kind or go to the opposite extreme pretty much on a whim.
Anyways, all of that is mostly valueless shuffling of paperwork, standing in the right lines without crossing another, indicating one's current status, following signs, initialing boxes, and making payment on time to the wise and beautiful woman behind the window. That's it.
It is difficult believe that paperwork procedures can honestly be compared to assault, home invasions, and violent crime or spun into outlandish theories of invasion, slavery, and the imminent collapse of America.
