I didn't particularly enjoy the zombie DLC. I guess it's a nice break from the Borderlands environment, but the zombie theme is just overdone.

To me, Borderlands is an escape from too much zombie shit. :\

I'm having no trouble finding corrosive SMGs, actually. Well, dmg-wise, they haven't been great--98 dmg is max that I have found. Max hellfire for me is 145.

I was holding onto a few them--couldn't decide if I preferred the x3 corrosive with 98 damage and scope--or the x4 with 96 damage and no scope. GAH! DECISIONS! :D

if I still have one of those--and I'm pretty sure I picked up a few recently--I can hand it over if you want.

I've been trying to like combat rifles, but I just hate them. Every one I find is too low fire rate for my taste and low reload speed. It certainly doesn't help, though, that my SMG skill is at 50 (max, I think? the text is green and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere), and everything else is at ~10.

50 is indeed maximum for weapon proficiency.

... but I can't seem to find a decent shield for the life of me. Still using a blue high capacity shield with a slow regen.

I can't seem to find any good corrosive or shock SMGs though. I have some nice corrosive revolvers and shock sniper rifles, but I can never find good SMGs with those elements

You'll get tons of great shields if you visit Crawmerax enough.

I find that post-patch (the patch that increased the level to 69), getting great shields from Craw has been too easy almost.

Obviously if you are just visiting vendors & chest it'll take more time to get a good one.

Some of my better shields & corrosive/shock SMGs, though they could be better (the SMGs; they shields are all maxed for their respective parts/levels)

yeah, I used my level 16 COM all the way through PT2 for the most part. though I've found others with +18 regen and now this near-max one.

You can have them, if you want. I also have a 4x 114 anarchy if you want, but I imagine yours are a bit higher level? I'm using a 4x140 right now.

glad to discover that Bonehead respawns without "cheating." recently nabbed a 2x151 Bone Shredder from him.

I think your 114 Anarchy is better than mine... I think mine is in the 90s somewhere. Ahh yeah, I found this screenshot that I posted earlier:

http://steamcommunity.com/id/aikouka/screenshot/577796269312223171

I might take you up on that if I don't get anything good out of the Armory, which I will definitely be cheating to get into :p. I actually created a Hunter just so I can get some of the crap out of my Siren's bank. I only have about 42 bag slots :(.

what is your steam account name aiokouka? or are you already in my list?

yeah, I created a hunter too. got bored at level 2, though. :p well, kinda wanted to get through all DLC with the Siren, I guess. or at least max her out. :\

was hoping to pass off a lot of these revolvers and machine pistols.

umm, let me make sure I didn't sell that anarchy already...

ah frick, everything is gone. :( I've held onto the merc COMs, though.

It's aikouka.

I ended up giving him a ton of revolvers and sniper rifles. I'm not sure what he'll end up using though, because some of those revolvers have really good accuracy and I think a few even have +200% crit. Only problem is all the items I gave him are probably level 30+.

Anybody noticed that the angry midgets have been quitely renamed? At least when I played the underdome tonight they were all given slightly more PC descriptions.

Nah, i don't really believe in duping, ruins the diversity of the weapons in the game IMHO.

I personally don't accept stuff from others; i find all my own stuff, & would rather people do the same :)

Some say there are about 3 million variations of guns in the game, others say the figure is above 17 million. Either way, you could probably spend a lifetime playing the game and not finding all that there is out there.

Hmm I kind of wish I had a high level shield with good armor and quick health regen. I actually have some shitty old shield (with 600 armor) that has quick health regen that I keep for emergencies :(.

damn. I'm a lucky sonofabitch. I was holding onto a shitty 600 armor shield b/c it had slow health regen, but then two nights ago, or so, picked up a 2100 armor shield with quick regen.

my current top shield is 2560 with ~450? armor regen, and I have a tough guy with 40% health and 2360 armor. Those are the three, plus a ~1700 with extreme fire fire resistance, that I keep.

Eh, I don't think that's the point, though. and finding everything out there is kind of useless, really. All you should be looking for is what suits your style best, for whichever characters you like to use. It's easy after a while to sift through the stuff that you wouldn't need.

For me, the loot drops are pretty much what this game is all about after a certain point. why make up your own shit? completely defeats the purpose.

I think my shield is around 1600 armor and I'm level 59 :(. Really need to get off my butt and get into the Armory!

I actually did a few side quests earlier and then gave all of the loot to my level 4 Hunter who is now level 6 from the challenge experience :p.

EDIT:

I assume the Hunter talents that refer to "pistols" includes both the repeater pistol and revolver, right?

EDIT 2:

Hmm finally spent some time looking at Hunter stuff, and I'm a bit disappointed to see that the Gunslinger mod modifies the Loaded talent, which is for Sniper Rifles, and the Gunslinger mod is definitely for pistols (given both the default effect and material effect only affect pistols). It makes me wonder if a Gunfighter mod might be better... especially if I'm using a Revolver with regen built in. I'd prefer it with the reload speed material boost though... I don't worry so much about "accuracy" unless it refers to the one on the weapon's stats (which most of my revolvers are 90+).

yeah, I read somewhere that for the modifiers on the guns, +accuracy doesn't actually affect the gun's base accuracy. +recoil is what increases the base accuracy. I think the accuracy modifier affects the gun sway, or something like that, and recoil reduces the movement and pitch after firing which, for machine pistols, is important I think.

I've got no problems with donating :)

Already posted my IDs in here Aikouka; add me if you'd like.

We should get an AT game going sometime.
I actually should have some time tonight as i don't work tomorrow & can stay up later (well, i can try).

I bought this game from steam and have it all ready to go, but haven't played it at all yet. My old roommate had it and he loved it so I have a pretty good idea what it is about. If you are going to start a AT run this weekend, I could join you if you want an extra, but be warned that I have yet to play the game so I will start out at level 1. (My Steam name is Martimus28, I think)

You're absolutely right! In fact that's the reason I've been playing it again and again. My first post to N7 was actually a joke.

Pistol skills work for all pistols.

I never did understand why the put that Sniper skill on the Gunslinger class mod. If they wanted it to blend more then one tree like most mods do there are other skills they could have picked from.

IIRC the Gunfighter mod is a Jakobs loyalty mod, which you have to use Jakobs guns to get the benefit from it. Jakobs doesn't make ammo regen guns, Tediore does. Some of the better revolvers are Mashers for normal dmg along with Chimeras (all elemental dmgs rotate per shot) & Defilers.

I do have a Jakob's Unforgiven gun in my Hunter's bank. It's powerful and doesn't use much in the way of ammo, so it might not be too bad. I have two different variants of the ammo regen revolver as well, and I believe both have 3.9x scopes on them, which is rather nice. I do have a Defiler, but not a Chimera.

I also have a Gunslinger mod with ammo regen, but I don't have a Gunfighter mod :(.

I've been playing my Hunter a bit and ugh... I have to say, playing my Siren has spoiled the hell out of me. I actually have a SMG on me for when I get overrun by Skaggs as a Sniper Rifle tends to not do so hot. I equipped Mad Jack (revolver) and realized that it... not so good. The whole spinning bullet thing... more like... missing every shot bullet thing.

I found a corrosive revolver at Moxxis with good damage (about the same as Mad Jack) with a nice scope and good accuracy. Unfortunately, I think it has a 2 round clip.... Oh well, I guess I better get really damn good with those head shots!

I'm a bit lazy to fire up the game and tell you the exact name of what I use, but its something T.. Double Fury with 15-17 fire rate and 85-90 accuracy, no elemental stuff. What you actually need for skags is fire damage rather than corrosive, as long as you aim for their private parts :D

But I feel the Maliwan Volcano is good enough to keep the skags at bay, just make sure you take the skill points from the sniper specialization first. Later on, if you have relentless skill also it gets too easy, it's likely that you'll keep minimum two sniper rifles in your combat slots. Also I'm always keeping a Double Anarchy handy, it's good against pretty much everything in the game.

Tk's Wave and MadJack are useless IMO.

I do use an ignite sniper rifle rather to help with Skaggs. For close-up Skaggs, the Mad Jack actually works pretty decently since it's hard to miss at that range and it fires quickly. I actually want to get to my next level so I can use a nice 350 damage sniper rifle that I have in my bank... unfortunately, it's not elemental.

I found this nice sniper rifle once... 98% accuracy, good damage, 250% crit multiplier... and a 1x zoom. I cried a little :(. My corrosive revolver has a 3.7x zoom... but that's hard to find on a sniper.

Although, I try to avoid using my SMGs if I can... I don't like giving experience to other gun types. Sometimes, I'll just whittle the mob down with the SMG and then switch back to something else.

I find that 1.5-1.8x zoom is perfect for a sniper, even at long distances as long as it has a decent accuracy. You can always go with Ranger mods for improved accuracy anyway. For combat however, a 3x zoom makes things difficult.

I couldn't handle the hunter without SMG's, I'd get owned fast(especially in the arenas). After two playthroughs I have about 37 sniper proficiency and 14-16 for SMG's and repeaters alike. I still don't bother with revolvers.
