It seems to be issues with physX in the dlc. Running sli 680's here and its nearly unplayable, main game runs great with physX on high, but ended up turning it down to low for the dlc. I assumed it was some sort of sound conflict/driver issue as it seemed to happen every time gunfire sounded, but switching physX to low fixed it. There's a huge thread on it over at the gearbox forum.

Thanks. Glad to hear others are having trouble, and it's not just me (I'm running 580s in SLI). I'll scale PhysX down a bit.

The DLC is running ok for me, not perfect but playable. Hadn't really noticed any slow downs in the main game, everything maxed except for DOF, but I am only level 18 and haven't been to the Caustic Caverns yet. I only play single player, also. I am slowing down to 48 in the cave for the first quest for Scarlett. Doesn't seem to be related to Physx, just random and not that often. Scaling has been perfect for my level 18 Siren. The first demi-boss in Oasis was level 20 and so far the loot is way better than I have seen in the main game. Got a 1100 level shield and a 6500 damage rocket launcher so far, way better than a 700 level Turtle and the 2700 launcher I had. Picked up some other level 19 stuff that I am close to being able to use. Guess the DLC was made for non-maxed characters.

The dlc was outsourced, forgot the name of the dev. The only real frame rate issues I noticed was in the refinery. I actually don't see much physics effects in the dlc ,like I do in the main game.

Just read on the Gearbox forums that some are getting better framerates and less stuttering disabling AO.

DLC worth buying for someone on their first playthrough? I'm not sure where the DLC is accessed from. I'm level 16 or 17 now.

Works for my level 18 character. The equipment I had was kicking butt in the main game, not so much in the DLC. Had a 16 level Plasma SMG I got from the golden key chest that was tearing through just about everything, pretty wimpy in the DLC. I think you have to level 15 or 16 for the DLC. I think level 16 is about perfect for the DLC. Lots of moaning from high level players about the scaling on the Gearbox forums.

I was a Level 34 Commando in Normal mode. I went into Scarlett and tried for an hour or so and it was way too easy. Enemies seemed to be scaled from about Level 28 - 30. That's not strange at all as it's the same max in the maingame in normal mode, appart from a few bosses at Level 31 -32.

What I did was starting over again in True Vault Hunter Mode. To my positive surprise I found out you could actually fast travel to Oasis right after starting the new game in TVHM. In Claptraps place there is a fast travel station, and the only place you could fast travel to was the Oasis, this early in the game. I went in there to check it out. And true enough, enemies was scaled to my Level and it was a real challenge.

So this DLC seems best for people either who are Level 20 in normal mode (at the tops. Smart to have room for Scarlett to level with you up to Level 30) or for those who have finished the maingame start over again in TVHM and access DLC that way.

Another thing I found out when starting in TVHM was that all my fine equipment from normal mode was crap now. So I just sold it. Even cheap TVHM weapons (white) was better than my maxed normal game equipment.

Yup.

I'm in TVHM and there is decent enough challenge for me in Oasis.

They should change that, imho... I think the majority of players going to Oasis are doing it after their first playthrough, not second.

Yeah, but it's not so bad since you can access Oasis right after you start on TVHM.

True.

But why should the game expect the player to start over again in Vault Hunter Mode, and then move on to the DLC?

Seems like extra work to get it balanced with your character.

I think it's because if they let it scale from Level 30 to 50 in Normal mode, the DLC would be unbalanced with the maingame in normal mode...

Let's say you where Level 30 after finishing mainquest of maingame, in normal mode... Pandora scale to about Level 30 in normal mode, then you fast traveled to Oasis, which scaled way past Level 30... Okay.. fine, except for that when you where finished in Oasis and fast traveled back to the maingame, your character would be totally overkill when compared to the world outside of Oasis.

So I understand why they did this..

I don't know how many levels you can gain inside Oasis.. But let's say 5 levels.. Then you would be fine if you entered Oasis at Level 25 normal mode. If you're Level 30 + and finished killing The Warrior, the best way is to just start in TVHM and then fast travel to Oasis. As I've said, when you start a new game in TVHM, you can fast travel from Claptrap's hideout, in the very beginning of the game. So no problem..

Anyone know what the radios are for? I see them on just about every map.

I've tried changing the station, turning them off and blowing them up. Nothin'...

Since you can change the station and turn them off, I'm assuming they are more than just decoration.

The radios just play some music and there's a few 'talk' radio snippets that will sometimes come on as well as some ads for various gun manufacturers. Far as I know there's nothing special about them.

Really?

I've never actually heard anything coming from them

Then again I'm usually killing midgets at the time

So another DLC has popped up. It's called Mr Torgue's campaign of carnage or something like that. No ETA on release though.

Radios: the one in sanctuary by the eridium vendor is easier to hear than the others.

You can hear some funny ads from the different gun manufactures, and other random bits. I heard part of an announcement from Patricia Tannis about
getting wasted and leaving her clothes somewhere in Sanctuary, and insisting that they be returned to her

Hope the "we're working on it" for the momentary freeze when firing guns comes soon. The longer I play the DLC the worse it gets. Sucks dieing because your gun won't load or fire. Guess I'll try Physx on low for now. On vacation this week and it would be a shame to waste it on chores and practical crap.

I'm not sure why this game is having so many frame rate problems, first my 680 SLI set up was getting 50 fps and now the glitchy DLC. This is disappointing.

Missing out then. I've heard 2 gun ads - one by Hyperion that includes the line "Well Timmy, your mom sounds like a bitch.", and the Torgue one, which is a ten second disclaimer followed by Torgue swearing.

Finally new key:

I swear the drops in my second playthrough have been such ass...I hope I get a worthy weapon.
