Shoot, I'd heard sometime in the spring, but I guess it's fall now.

No need for fb

Has anyone played borderlands in 3D?

It's so cartoonlike and the colors and objects are quite distinct so I think it will be a perfect game for 3D? 😀

My new goal is to go 3D with a 79XX or GTX 670 or 680 by September!!!

The only thing that could have made me more excited would have been a 2/23 release date! 😛

Something interesting that I noticed about the pre-order page. It says, "Account registration and internet connection required". The original game technically only required you to register (with GameSpy) for (online) multiplayer, but this one appears to be saying that you need to register to play at all. 2K Games doesn't have an online gaming portal (i.e. EA's Origin, Valve's Steam), so does that mean Borderlands 2 will be a Steamworks game?

EDIT:

Actually, rethinking it... it's probably just talking about registering for the Premiere Club.

I put so much time into the first one (and got it so cheap) that I'll be pre-ordering from Steam just as a thank-you.

I'm looking forward to it though. Luckily I have SW:TOR, Skyrim and a pile of other games to keep me busy until then.

I'm playing through the first Borderlands and it's just OK for me. Though I'm just playing solo not multiplayer so that maybe it. The quests/story is pretty bland, the combat is good, the graphics at first would give me a headache (didn't help I was playing mostly BF3) and of course there's the loot. I'll probably pick up BL2 on sale a year later.

I'm pretty certain they have stated it will be steamworks for the next game.

I like that news!

Multiplayer co-op is where Borderlands shines.

Single player is ok, gets a little bland after awhile.

I've played all 220+ hours of Borderlands as single player, and I enjoy it none-the-less! 🙂 I think it works pretty well if you're the obsessive type. You know, the type that spends all day farming a certain boss for a certain gun.

Not that I know anyone from here like that. 😉 :whiste:

Yea, looks fantastic. The only disappointment for me is that I was hoping it would come out before the summer so I could play split screen co-op with a friend who will spend most of the summer with us. I played the first game and all the expansions through as 3 of the 4 characters I think.

Will split screen be for PC or with the co-op be kinda MMOish where you can run around together and do stuff?

If it's anything like the first game I'll pass. Borderlands was fetch quest after fetch quest. Most overhyped game I've played in the last few years. Everyone seemed to love it, but by the time I did the same quest for the 60th time I had had enough.

Are you thinking of the right game?

Borderlands was a shooter with action RPG elements in the skill trees and guns loot, it wasn't trying to be Mass Effect.

Did you think Diablo, Titan Quest and Torchlight were just "fetch quests" too?

Borderlands 2 is my most anticipated game of the past few years. Can not wait for it to come out. Will be a preorder 4 pack purchase and day one me and a group of friends will be pillaging some angry midgets.
