Does anyone actually use lean? The actual lean movement is so little, I don't see the point.

It defaults to the Q and E keys, but I'd rather use them for something else.

It used to be essential in CoD1, 2, 4. But maps are so tuned for consoles without lean its practically useless now.

Haven't read most of the thread but I caved and got this thanks to several recommendations of random strangers + friends. I played approximately 15 minutes of the game and knew I made a mistake. I have no intentions of ever playing CoD until they make some drastic changes. What a waste. :(

I had no intentions of buying Halo 4 either but I have to say I'm finding it a lot more enjoyable, especially online, than Black Ops 2.

Was the nuketown playlist opening weekend only? It's gone now... and because of the way matchmaking works I'll probably never see that map again.

I was under the assumption that Nuketown 24/7 would always be there. Apparently me and everyone else was wrong and it's gone.

I got it last Sunday! Would be sweet to get a group of 4 for zombies, I heard the map is very detailed.

SO...does anyone know how to fix an issue upon running MP? I get the black screen which goes NO WHERE...like it is hung and never completes...

Any help is appreciated.

EDIT:

It finally had an error "'fonts/720/consolefont' for asset type 'font'"

All the fixes say to revert the language back to English...but what if mine is already set to English?

Which is listed on the direct2play website and has a patch of sorts...but when I went to download it from Server One it said it was going to be 2.5 gb's but only downloaded 350 mb...and the stinkin' password won't extract that they had listed FFS.

SO...I delete the invalid archive and try to download it again and now it is 0 bytes lol!

Anyways...does anyone know if this is something that will eventually be fixed via Steam vs. some third party fix?

Thanks!

It wasnt the quickest download ever, but I got it. I think I still have the archive, so PM me if you want it.

That's right, I was going to respond to the guy but forgot.

This happened to me too leeland, and there was a link on the direct2drive page posted earlier about it. You have to download a 2.5gig zip file (I know... how you feel) then extract that to the game folder and overwrite stuff. After that it worked great. It's entirely possible that there's only part of that zip you really need but I have no idea what it is and if it'll fix your problem without the rest of it.

The messed up part is this...

On Server One they HAVE a download for a 2.5 gb file...but clicking on it gives you a 0 byte archive (at least it did for me)

One Server Two they have two files to download a 1.9 gb and a 600 mb

Downloading them results in a file size much smaller and the password they provided for the second server doesn't work on the archive.

If there is a way to get the actual 2.5 gb download from some other place I guess that would most ideal. Any help is appreciated!

PS D2D's support staff are of NO help at all!

That's odd... I used d2d's link and it downloaded the whole thing fine. It wasn't fast but at least it worked. I don't really have anywhere else I can host it for you unfortunately :\

And the file you downloaded was actually 2.5 gb's in size when rar'd or when you unrar'd it?

I was downloading it with Firefox so I will try IE when I get home and see what the results are.

I'm not sure if I want to get it. I like all of the recent CoD games, even when all the haters were going on about mods and stuff with MW2, I thought it was fine. I used to be into multiplayer but these days mostly single player. I like the campaigns a lot. Is BO2 pretty similar to MW2, 3, and BO campaign?

Yessir, it's a big ass download. It really downloaded 2.5gigs worth and it's all there in the archive. I would recommend you try the google drive link childs can PM you. What seems to take up so much space is the "sounds" folder it includes, but I assume it's necessary or they wouldn't have packaged it this way.

I bought it and I actually like it. I haven't had this much fun playing a COD MP came on PC since MW1. I skipped MW2 for PC and bought MW3 for PC and it was just awful! I'd say well done Treyarch.

Yeah I like it too. I even have fun if I'm getting my ass kicked which is impressive. The different party modes really help keep things fun if I'm starting to feel like standard modes are getting a little stale. I really like the pick 10 layout system and it feels like I can get a lot closer to a truly customized layout because of it. I rarely need or want a secondary weapon, so an extra attachment on my primary instead is much more helpful. And many times I'd rather have extra perks than non-lethal grenades.

Changing the killstreaks to SCOREstreaks was also a really good move IMO. In the past, during a lot of the objective games people seemed to ignore the point of the mode just to get a couple extra kills to get their steak. Now that it's score based people focus more on the objective as it's generally balanced to give more points than just kills.

The matchmaking is also MUCH faster than it has been in the past. The only issue I ever had wasn't really the game's fault, it was just several large groups that were impatient and kept leaving before the counter was done. Servers populate very fast and I've yet to get a server error like I used to frequently get in MW3. Loading times are quick too so everything just seems to flow a lot better.

Im sooooo sick of all the bouncing bettys, stuns, concussions, and shock charges. Every match turns into a spam fest of those stupid things and I just wanna gun fight!

Too bad we cant rent and run our own servers the way we see fit. Its a shame because the gunplay is excellent if you can ever get into a nonspamfest game.

I'll probably cave because I like every CoD game to some extent.

I absolutely abhor not being able to go back to the same servers over and over (user-owned ones). No community. Blah. Sticking with BO1 mostly for that reason. Might get BO2 on sale or if everyone I play BO1 with moves on.

I don't want it to be another MW3, because I played that for a month or so and never again, and I've been playing BO1 (with quite a few others) a lot.

So far, BO2 seems like a strange mix of BO1 and MW3. Hrmph.

The more I play it the less I like it. Most everything that is wrong could easily be fixed. The worst thing about it is the lag compensation, it's even worse than MW3. Half of the time people are firing at you as they appear on your screen, if you haven't experienced this then you are that person. I'm also quite sure I've been that person occasionally too. Kind of takes the fun out of it when you're on either end.

Next the SMG's absolutely need to be nerfed to all hell and back. Virtually everyone is running around with an SMG. Black Ops was pretty well balanced as far as weapons go, though the LMGs and the snipers (due to the maps more than the weapon) may have been a tad weak, this game is most definitely not. SMG's completely dominate. Due to typical map size I think the best way to fix this is with a massive and quick damage drop off rate over distance, rather a pure damage decrease or accuracy decrease. I wouldn't want to see their close quarters effectiveness hurt as that is their purpose, but they shouldn't be winning often at range.

They also need to allow all game modes to be played as hardcore in the standard ranked playlist! This is ridiculous....TDM, S&D and CTF only is absurd. Hardcore DOM and Demolition were two of the most populated game types in BO1. It's just stupid to limit people to softcore.

Couldn't agree more! And it appears the lag comp is even worse when I'm playing with a party of one or more. SMG's seem to be not as accurate at long range, but still pack a punch at long distances. The spawning system is crazy, and with the small merry-go-round maps, I'm getting aggravated getting shot in the back all the time. There is no "line in the sand" anymore, and it plays a whole like Unreal Tournament when it comes to spawns and map position. Every time you open to fire someone, there is other to shoot you on your flank.

I'm not getting BO2, as I haven't bought an Activision FPS since MW2. I prefer EA's BBC2 and BF3.

Jesus f'ing christ...

Apparently the key I bought wasn't a TRUE english version (or some such BS) and Treyarch decided in the last patch to force the game into Polish and remove the English side. Now the menus are in gibberish I can't understand. I didn't know I wasn't buying the full version. It was damn near full price and said "English". What else was I supposed to think?

Screw these assholes.
