I believe they sold a million copies just at midnight launch events. I believe the figure now is closer to 6 or 7 million.

Figure out your crashing last night? I am still getting a few random red screens, but its more a issue with my 670 gtx i think.

I played a few rounds after downclocking my video card to reference levels (it has a factory OC). Since that I have had no issues. Now that I think back I had the same issue with Sleeping Dogs. I also removed my sound card and am using the onboard sound for now, as that configuration is in Treyarch's list of known issues. Hopefully that will be the end of the crashing. Always sucks to be at the top of the leaderboard and get booted out of the game.

Also used MSI afterburner and turned up my GPU fanspeed to 85% just in case it wasn't doing it on its own.

I have a factory OCed 570 and have had similar problems. Didn't have an issue with sleeping dogs, but did have problems with Just Cause 2 and the Crysis 3 alpha. Now I have a reference profile to easily switch to, and I believe I can even set it up to automatically use that profile when the game exe launches.

The performance difference is so small between the OC/non-OC I might as well just leave it at reference speeds permanently. I am still getting a steady 120FPS in BLOPS2, which feels amazing BTW even on a 60Hz display. :D

I was going to wait for a sale as well, but then I realized that wouldn't be for at least 6 months, and by then everyone will have the maps memorized and kick my ass.

I wouldn't count on it. The COD series rarely goes on sale, I think the last few didn't even go on sale till the first map pack was coming out months later and their idea of a sale is 33% of usually

Told myself I'd never pay for another CoD game after MW3 and Im staying true to that. A bunch of friends got a free steam code from a LA launch party so Im getting those from them.

Actually, I believe MW3 was 33% off during last year's Steam Christmas sale, literally just a month after it released. That was a rare exception though.

MW3 actually seemed to be cheaper/go on sale more often than other CoD games in recent history. You could pre-order it for only $30 on some CD key sites. BO2, on the other hand, I can't find for that cheap. Lowest I can find it is $45.

Real PC players would never willingly play a FPS on a console :)

Well, I am a devout fan of the KB+Mouse, but if you want to play certain titles (Halo, COD, etc), they just have the community and fun factor on console.

There's definitely room for a gamer to play and enjoy both platforms. I vastly prefer a good PC FPS, but Blops2 is a game that if you want the MP experience it's all console. At least everyone else is gimped with the same crappy control setup you are :D If someone could plug in a Kb/mouse to play COD on console, they'd mop the floor with everyone using a pad.

Actually the PC port of BLOPS2 is very well done. No issues on launch day which is a rarity for any PC release these days.

Get it on console for sure. Blops2 won't sell well on PC to begin with, and the console version will have tons of players on it years after everyone has abandoned the PC version.

Just like BF3 for console sucks and should be ignored, Blops2 is an atrocity on PC.

The PC version might not sell in the insane amounts that it does on consoles but it still sells a shitload of units compared to most other pc games. You can still find matches in MW1 and 2 without much issue.

I've been playing COD on PC since its inception. The only time it's ever difficult to find a good game is when a new COD comes out and everyone has migrated over. By then I've had my fill. I used to only buy the IW developed ones because I thought they were better, but now I'm liking treyarch renditions more so ill be skipping the IW ones.

??

It shouldn't run so slow with graphics like those.

Maybe it'll be patched out, but that's unacceptably slow for a competitive FPS. Better off on console where you can get a steady 60FPS with the same exact models/textures/maps, and more people playing it.

Was that price for preorders only? I can't find any sales on it now that it's out.

Also, is there a way to get the nuketown map now without getting the deluxe edition?

The bad thing about buying this is when they finally do go on sale there is a new one coming out.

Since almost everyone ends up going out and buys the new game it makes the previous one a total ghost town.

I've been done with the series since MW2.
