How was Tomb Raider "great for consumers"?
AMD locked nVidia user out from playing that game for nearly 2 weeks. And even today there are problems the developer does not care to fix.

Just when I thought I saw it all. I don't care which pom-pom colors you have, this is absolute gold!

I haven't had this much fun since the days of Happy_Medium, and sadly I missed the Rollo fiasco.

Don't bother telling this guy the truth. He argued in another thread that it is factual that Nvidia has better drivers than AMD but cannot provide anything to back it up. As you can see, he'll argue how fantastic Nvidia drivers are no matter what.

I have not played dirt 3 as it does not interest me, but what exactly is horrible? I remember seeing AMD perform better in this title, but NV having no problem running the game. From a quick google, these are fairly old benchmarks now but nonetheless how exactly is it terrible? Again, i have not played the game and so i may be mistaken, but it does not look as bad as you make it seem (comparing to AC3 on AMD cards)
2. That does not explain anything as even with current titles NV is ahead...Does one driver update suddenly make them on par? no, it doesn't.
3. You have the option of not updating. I run TR with my 670 with no problems on 1080p.

1. IIRC(too lazy to Google) even a lowly 7850 performs better than Titan in this title, that is unsettling for me also what is this AC3 issue you speak about? my brother has an asus 7950 dc ii top and ac3 runs fine on his card.
2.I am not sure how should we rate the performance of the cards, by looking at the recent or year old benches? both camps drop patches like bombs now a days, so I wouldn't be surprised if the situation reverses.AMD had some serious issues in some games and it drew flak from most of the reviewers, thankfully they have learned form their mistakes.
3.That defeats the purpose of patches does it not?

Unless you're back under a different name, you haven't been here long enough. There are and have been some real rabid nV fanboys, and some of them have been banned so you may not have seen it. Swing by the alienbabeltech forums, you'll meet a bunch of them there.

I agree with you that Keys for example takes a lot of flak for his nV affiliation, but so would anyone in his shoes (whether nV or AMD affiliated). Keys was nV biased from a long time ago (he would admit as much), so of course he is going to take some flak, and him becoming part of the focus group made it worse, understandably so, I'd expect the same if I was in his shoes as well.

You claim NV drivers are so superior, yet the 680 and 7970G are neck and neck in this game. The other cards are pretty surprisingly close to their price/performance. This is in a game which favors nv (UE3).

You haven't demonstrated how they are better than the opponent, NV is losing overall in price/performance.

So you just keep trolling about some supposed superiority, yet you have nothing to back it up other than NV getting more fps in what 5 out of 20 games? What about the whole list of games where they are losing? (not being published yesterday is no excuse)

Heres the problem, you pretend like a win or two makes NV superior. They are losing overall (referring to 7970G to 680) in $/performance. The game bundles only make it moreso. Yes, they get this title (barely in said case), but you're the only one foolishly applying it across the board into something about a superior brand.

I hated it when AMD took over ATI. The very first thing AMD did was change all the install folders on the graphics drivers and it took me forever to fix.

There may of been a change in resources and direction -- the experimental AA modes were gone and many titles had behavior flags that forced only application modes.

For example: I had a 1900XTX Crossfire platform and enjoyed WoW and used the x10 AA setting, which was a hybrid mode with x8 MS and a virtual free hit Full Scene x2 RGSSAA component -- would sometimes use EATM or adaptive transparency AA in conjunction.

AMD used a behavior flag for WoW and couldn't use Super AA anymore and was forced to use application, and the image quality suffered and noticeable micro-stuttering with AFR. The experience greatly suffered and left AMD/ATI for nVidia.

Also, Catalyst AI turned off all optimizations including CrossFire -- I couldn't disable filtering optimizations without turning off CrossFire - had enough.

Been so impressed by the quality and flexibility offered from nVidia.

Back up your claims? As if. You dismissed my points with an appeal to authority fallacy, when that authority wasn't even really supporting your claims, and a poisoning the well fallacy by implying I'm just saying things because I use some AMD hardware and thus am an AMD fanboy. Fallacies =/= contributing to discussion and backing up claims.
