Nothing new.

GTX680 is faster or on par with the 7970GHz in Crysis 3, Farcry 3, Bioshock Infinity and Tomb Raider.

Nothing wrong with the OPs post, perfectly legit. If AMD was ahead in the benches I doubt the 'troll' accusation would have been thrown.

p.s. Having said that I probably wouldnt have used the words "lot better", knowing that it has the potential to trigger a religious war here.

Weird the 7950 performs so much slower than the 7970GHz. 14% higher clock speed and another 14% more stream processors but that is scaling almost linearly. Seems like past games have never scaled that well between the two.

funnily different tests show different results . here is linus gameplay benchmarking.

HD 7950 OC edges ahead of GTX 670 OC and destroys GTX 660 Ti OC. HD 7970 OC is the top dog (obviosuly without counting Titan). so it depends on the specific scene being tested.

Last time i checked, nobody used linus tech tips youtube channel for legitimate reviews. The HARDOCP review tests 7-8 minutes. The one you linked is like 2...HARDOCP also states they choose a good area to benchmark, not just any

You posted an [H] article. That explains everything.

You missed this part of the article too:

We did find however, that the AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition CrossFire ran slightly faster than the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 SLI at 1920x1080 and at 2560x1600.

Not that it matters but I am sorry, no 2gb GTX 680 will overtake a 7970 once it starts hitting the VRAM wall.

Yeah let's cherry pick our way around... Still doesn't replace the fact the 680 is slower than the 7970 Ghz.

Nice agenda though.

Your OP is just baiting and that's what I'm referring to.

I can read charts and see that NV wins a couple games too. The 680 and 7970 ghz are basically tied, the rest of the tier falls about in line with pricing. 670>7950>660ti>7870

Nice Green NV goggles. Everything you spout.

My processor isn't really fast enough to compare without DDOF.

I don't have a problem with [H], I remember when they were the go to reviewer for 6xxx series, seems like so long ago.

The only thing I wonder is if his 7950 boost is functioning properly and not downclocking, gap between it and the GHz is just too high.

speak for yourself. linus is not running a website and is not dependent on ad revenue or sponsors. his reviews are quite popular. hardocp is not the only site testing games. hardocp is known to be biased towards Nvidia.

here is techreport bioshock gameplay review

AMD HD 7870 beats the GTX 660 in all metrics , fps and frame times. I would believe the same relation will hold for GTX 680 and HD 7970 Ghz.

The ZonEr team is baiting. Don't bite. When Hocp publishes something they like, the world stops spinning. When not, well you see the thread crapping going on.

hardocp tests the HD 7950 boost at stock power control of 0% which means clock throttling. anybody who runs a HD 7950 boost would run at max power control of +20% and will make sure the card runs at 925 mhz even without any overclocking.

Yet it is the slower card.

Odd you should only mention those 4 games (Cherry pick much)? Not really, it's just sontin rehashing marketing 101 for team green.

So for crossfire, you people say that it isn't an issue. Then you link me to the site that is at the forefront for CF having huge issues?

The performance is very similar between the 660 and 7870, within ~4 FPS while the 660 can be had these days for 189.99. Realistically, the 7870 does not directly compete with the 660, so it is an unfair comparison. These days, it is more so the 660Ti, where it destroys the 7870. To be fair, the 7870 is more in between both the 660 and 660Ti.

You seem very angry. You can go find another benchmark around the internet to help prove your claim (on youtube with a 2 minute benchmark), while claiming other legitimate review sites are bias towards nvidia.

You AMD fanboys are a treat.

Bioshock isn't the most graphically demanding game, if you haven't noticed.
2GB of vram should be enough for 2560.

exactly LOL this forum is hilarious. it's actually very entertaining making all these fanboys run around on youtube explaining why reviews are wrong and they know so much better.

don't come here telling that the site which favours your green view of the world is the only site to refer for game benchmarks. :D

within a month you are gaining a reputation fast exceeding sontin and keys.
