Bethesda kicks PC Skyrim fans in the n*ts

if I was planning on buying this until the pc release with all the dlc included, I may have been offended.

I don't care about that at all, and I agree, playing an Elder Scrolls game on a console is only limiting one's amusement in such a game, considering the inevitable rain of custom content created for the PC version by the modding community, which is way better than most official DLCs Bethesda could make.

There is no way I could possibly make it through Skyrim and have any use for DLC that soon.

Not to mention DLC is a fucking money sink.

For a game like Elder Scrolls, PC will always be the optimal platform. Online modding community is awesome.

Don't you mean Microsoft kicked PC gamers in the nuts...again?

How much money does it take to get exclusive rights?

I'm not so confident, the lead version is being developed for consoles which is a nifty way of saying ported to PC

True but still I can run it at 1080p native, something the consoles can't handle for demanding games.

Also better textures, higher effects ect. not to mention the modding community. Oblivion looks really good now after the modders have had their way with it on modern hardware.

It will take months for decent mods to come out.

And I would also like to point out, there is no longer armor/weapon degradation.

Casual console game? Confirmed!

I hate dlc and greedy companies that make them

...

What do you mean i don't get dlc for the first 30 days? Rabble rabble rabble!

Ok, pay for the increase production costs, how about they raise prices to 60 bucks? Because it's pretty impractical to blithely skip along assuming that games whose polygon count rocket upwards don't require a larger company and staff.

I would actually prefer to pay more for the game and have it come out as a complete game at the beginning.
Most games I can wait for GOTY to come out, but a few I want to play right away, and feel that I played the entire game as a complete experience.

It is just annoying to me to play through a game and feel good that you finished it, and then have DLC come out that makes you feel you missed something.

Mehrune's Razor and Mage's Tower were pretty cool.

Agreed. I've been playing Oblivion since it came out. I haven't finished the story line, yet 😀 I enjoy game play and messing around in that world. I could really care less about DLC. Shivering Isles was pretty good, too. But the only reason I have anything beyond OG Oblivion, is because of these slutty Steam sales that are too hard to resist.

I didn't read the thread, but bullshit like this just makes me stay even further away from the stupid fucking Xbox. Fuck off, Microsoft.

Okay, so they're giving PC users time to finish the main game before shoving DLC down their throats. This is bad how?

+1, Exactly. Microsoft uses the huge profits they make from Windows gamers to screw Windows gamers in favor of Xbox gamers.

FUCK YOU MICROSOFT!

The only thing better about Windows is gaming, and after the way the treat PC gamers, I will never buy a Windows phone, tablet, or netbook.

Thats why i wish devs would support Linux. technically it could be the ultimate gaming platform with a lot more distro's oriented specially for gamers

Well, assuming I buy Skyrim to begin with I'm not worried about the whole DLC thing. Most DLC I never bother to get for games anyway. Most DLC is kinda crappy to begin with IMHO. I'd be more interested to see what the modding community churns out for the game. Its usually way better than official DLC.

It's not just the devs, you'd have to have all of the hardware manufacturers on board too to make proper linux drivers and updates as fast as they do on windows.

The Skyrim console players have to depend on Bethesda to patch and fix up all the bugs. That's more than enough punishment for getting some extra DLC early.

that's something that follows popularity. But of course the only way devs will move from Linux is if either new graphic engines have its own built in API or directly to hardware, something like that.
Tim Sweeny mentioned something similar for the U4 engine, but i don't recall details.
