Um.... no o_O

I meant they're taking out repair.. at this rate by the next TES game it'll be down to wearing only one suit (ala fallout). We lost paladrons and enchantment in Oblivion, now we're loosing repair, athletics, acrobatics, mysticism and now repair.

I actually don't mind it when they do this, because I buy the PS3 versions of most of my games, and since I have to wait longer for DLC I just beat the game quickly and then sell it for a decent amount of money on Amazon, and then wait two years and buy the GotY edition with all of the DLC...

Some DLC is good though. I haven't played Oblivion but the Fallout 3 and NV DLC was worth it - they provide quite a lot of extra gameplay and new game mechanics without feeling like you're missing out by not getting them (except for the Broken Steel DLC that fixed Fallout 3's shitty ending).

On the other hand, crap like horse armor is easily ignored. What bugs me is Mass Effect 2 DLC - some was good, but a lot of it really should have been included in the main game and you're missing out if you don't pay extra. And it's shorter than the Fallout DLC too.

In what fallout game do you only wear one suit? I haven't played the first 2. And enchantment was in Oblivion. And I imagine athletics and acrobatics will be combined into one skill which makes much more sense to me.

Companies will try to make money and will sign exclusivity/early-release deals when paid well enough: news at 11.

They actually did merge chest and leg slots into just one 'armor' slot.

So, iirc, you just have boots, 'armor' or robe, and helmet.

... :(

I guess maybe I am not as busted up about this as some. For me, I am definitely not going to make it through the initial game in 30 days. To much other stuff in life to do. Maybe 90 days or so depending on how engaging and how long to complete most of the side quests. If it is anywhere near as open ended as Oblivion (with 100+ game play hours), it could be longer for me.

Not that I get the DLC stuff anyway. But if something good does come out of it, and I can't get it, I will have Arkham City to play as well. And maybe Xcom if it is any good. And maybe one or two other games in the fire.

So not really sweating this.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant slots (thanks for the word I was missing Dumac :) ) Also didn't we have arm slots? Oh and not to forget all the missing weapon types.

I'm sure there is good DLC, however I continually vote with my wallet. I don't by anything associated with EA and don't support the DLC business model and try to not buy anything that's associated with PRE-ORDER and get in game BS. I think it's horse shit, not only do we beta test some of these games we have to pay for shit we previously didn't have to?

No thanks.

Does this really persuade gamers into buying their console? Big freaking deal if they get content faster, just shows how big of a sell out the game companies are.

Moar internet moneys plez.

The only games I buy now are ones I play on the PC. I'll never buy another game for a console when I can drive 10 minutes and rent it, beat it, then return it for $8.

Why are you talking about EA? This is a Bethesda/Skyrim thread.

You have a Quake avatar. Guess what, Bethesda and id are both owned by the same company.

As for DLC, you're still missing the point. It's not paying for shit we didn't previously have to, it's paying for shit in smaller increments than we once did. In the past, you'd buy the game and then a year or so later you'd buy an expansion pack. Nowadays they break that up into smaller $5 or $10 chunks. You could argue that $40 worth of DLC rarely provides the same amount of gameplay as a $40 expansion pack, but that depends on the DLC. And Fallout's DLC really does provide a lot more gameplay.

Go ahead and don't buy any DLC, it's not like anyone is forcing you to. But you're missing out on some worthwhile stuff. It's easy enough to avoid bad DLC.

I brought up EA as another example of business practices I don't support.

I don't see how or what is going on with id relates to my avatar given the time frame and business employed when it was released. But thanks?

It's my opinion that, if you believe with the advent of DLC you get the same amount of game or finished product you were before hand, you are exteremely naive.

You mean my horse will have to live with out armor all that time?!?

lmao I was thinking the exact same thing.

Who cares really? Is your bought game going anywhere? Does Microsoft really think this will make people buy their version?

Idiotic really on the developers. Even dumber for Microsoft to waste money on it.

Ditto, never cared about DLC and never will......as far as i'm concerned its way too much money for too little and shoddy content.

Not all DLC is not worth the money. I thought Undead Nightmare was well worth the $10 it cost.
