But I guess it's okay if HE does it.

Of course creig - Rollo was absolutely notorious for running around different forums posing as Digital Wanderer or WaltC or RobertR1 or Bouncing Zabaglione Bros. and slagging off Ati in their name, wasn't he?

Oh wait...

I seriously wonder how you have managed not to get yourself banned yet.

Miss me???

Well this is what happens when you go running to buy a DX10 card before the damn operating system that supports it is even available! Maybe you should've waited like a smart person would do.

Or maybe you buy it and use it on DX9 on WinXP like 99.9999% of people with the card seem happy doing

We all know that Vista IS ready and is available...but still we have a few days to go 'til its up in the stores...and i would give them some leeway and AT LEAST wait 'til the retail Vista is out and then complain about drivers in beta.

they (NV) dont have a responsilbility to provide 100% ready drivers to MSDN developers (!) and beta testers..however the retail customer then is where the focus might be....maybe they just fixing bugs and let things mature.

Emm Vista is no longer in beta stage fool. I thought people actually understood that?

Microsoft has stated time and time again that the OS will not change in any shape or form even at the end of Jan which then you can buy it at Best Buy or some crap. Any person can buy the damn OS if they wanted to right now if they checked hard enough.

It is released to quite a few business companies already, so I do not understand your logic.

Did Microsoft officially release Vista yet? Don't give me 50 thousand run-around answers either. Yes, or No. Maybe you should think a little more before calling someone a fool.

Wait one second....

Thos postings are NOT mine, and were never placed by me.

Yes, I have an account under Terpsy on NZone, but forgot about it when I created 8800GTsPurchase

And you can search the archives, I have not making multiple accounts, and those posts are NOT mine.

I have never, EVER, been to or posted on TechPowerup or PlanetAMD

FYI : I have been Core2Duo since launch, why would I be on PlanetAMD?

These are SERIOUS allegations, and I am not the one who did them....

I want PROOF! Post IP's, and damn better make sure you have the right person.....

Now, I want a Friggin Apology! and a Public admittance of slander and mistaken identity from you Chris !

Gstanfor,

Excuse me?

He says I am someone else, from Nov 30th posts, won't provide proof of what he is saying (and slandering ME) and I am supposed to leave and never return?

I have been a member here for almost 7 years, and never a problem and haven't done anything to change that....

I think you are mistaken in your thinking, and in your RASH decision and lack of background

He has accused me of something I have NOT done, and should receive an apology from him.

Yes, I looked at your linked thread...

And it is not me....

And I welcome any and all IP tracking....

I am starting to think as I stated in my PM that perhaps you and Chris work together..

As the postings are not mine, and were never done by me

I stand by that fact, and as I said, POST IP's, because they are not me

These are SERIOUS allegations you are making against me, and I am not the one Chris or yourself are trying to frame for this

I have given you the means to contact me terpsy. Numerous means. Your choice if you wish too contact me or not. I have already told you I will not discuss this on the open forum. I think everyone with any amount of common sense knows that IPS are manipulatable by proxies.

But this needs to be discussed as per the allegations you have ACCUSED me of...

I have sent youa PM, and when I sent an email to the Administrators on NZone forums, I included my home phone number....

I don't see why this needs to be kept secret when I am innocent of your allegations

Like I said. Contact me by the means I gave you. I am willing to discuss this with you. I will not get into a flame fest with you here however. And if I get a reasonable explanation to the circumstances. I will certainly admit to being wrong. I am certainly do not feel above that.

Alright. After further review. His ISP carrier is incorrectly reporting its location to me. The IP is coincidently is coming from the same spot as the other user which is apparently an unfortunate coincidence. But this is definately an error with the software as Terpsy isnt from Kansas.

So I apologize for mistaking him for the user due to the way our software was resolving the IPs. Had he not verified his location to me then I would never have been able to make this verification. When adding this up and his obvious long time posting at anandtech it certainly makes no sense for him to damage his credibility like that. I have restored his posting rights on the nzone forums.

And here I go. I know some of you will enjoy this.

I'm Sorry.

:p

Have you read the "As sleazy as it gets" thread I linked @ B3D?

Yes... but his association with Arbuthnot Entertainment Group definitely colors his judgement/responses.

That was "Crisis Management" for the folks that don't know what AEG does.

Chris,

It is not frustration with you, and apology accepted.

My frustration is the lack of information and the secrecy behind the mysterious wait until Jan 30th for a driver. When drivers have been released for ALL other cards (and Final, not just Beta) and there has been nothing from NVidia for the 8800 series (which is supposed to be built for Vista).

That is the frustration that myself, along with other owners of this series are upset about.

And, the lack of communication from them. We have purchased the most expensive and flagship cards, and are getting nothing but unrefined drivers to use in XP, and nothing in Vista.

Again, I accept our apology and hope that going forward, we can hopefully nudge Nvidia in listening to it's customer base, and doing something for them. Because as it erodes, it is going to be VERY difficult to recapture it.

I have known of ChrisRay long before he joined AEG, when he was active @ nvnews.net. Joining AEG has not changed him in the slightest. He contributed then and continues to contribute now to our community far more than his critics could ever dream of contributing.

I challenge anyone to find something biased or "wrong" about the IQ investigations AA has performed over the years for example.

ChrisRay is an asset to the IT community. Those who would criticize him because he is an AEG member are JACK-ASSes in the community...

I want to point out. That I take such matters of accusation seriously. And there was alot of things about the locations of his posts that were registering incorrectly. We have had this person be a problem for over 2 months now. The unfortunate thing is that legit users do get screwed over by the ones who have real agendas. As seen in this case. It's unfortunate to legit users like Warren that such users exist which can cause such suspicion in the first place. Which cause these misunderstandings in the first place.

The IP location circumstance just happened to be wrong on our end. And it looked awfully damning.

I would like to point out. That the "AEG" you all are referring too. No longer exists. As a matter of fact. I have been working directly with Nvidia for about a year now. AEG has been gone for a long time. Working directly with Nvidia has been far more rewarding because it has allowed me to help users on the slizone forums. Which I devote a tremendous amount of resources too. Gives me now direct access to the driver team for feedback and bug reporting. As well as all the channels I need to get questions answered for people who are having problems quickly.

C'mon everyone...

This is not a forum to attack Chris, I had the most reason at the current time to be upset, but I still didn't attack him...

Look, the frustration is with Nvidia, and their dis-respect (that is what it feels like) to those of us with the 8800 and Vista (which, should have been thought to be high percentage) as normally enthusiasts are the driving sales for this card, and being as such, we are more than proportianately registered in MSDN.

So, please, no atacks at Chris from prior posting or future posting. Let's work on Nvidia to acknowledge it's CLIENT base....

That has nothing to do with this issue... there was an obvious lack of due dillegence in what transpired here. Only once challenged were the proper Information Technology skills applied... Doing a third party whois IP look-up to assure that the action was a correct one.

NZone has gotten terrible in this regard. It demonstrates NV's Management Style from the Top to The Bottom... NVIDIA has no regard for their customers. They insulate themself from the end customers by their partnership arrangement.

The ban first attitude of "Crisis Management" is just one more demonstration.

They were more than willing to tarnish your name over nothing more than mistaken geographical location. If this guy is willing to ban people for such concocted evidence, he should not even have a ban button. I don't know the guy, but he appears to be a well known member of the video card community and frankly should have known better.
