Have you thought about what the next engineering challenge is going to be?

Have you thought about what the next engineering challenge is going to be?
either 2-inch high, 1 post-it note + x pennies,
or
1 matchbook tower
good challenges can be tough to think of. materials need to be cheap, universally available, and hold a great deal of parity. objectives need to be clear, easily verified, and interesting. if anyone knows of some decent projects, or if there is something written on the topic, let's hear it.

Hey The Boston Dangler... I was just looking at your submitted pictures again.
How does not including the tape measure body affect your measurement at all? Isn't the body of the tape measure in your hand? (The 1" mark is 1" from the metal tip that's at the bottom)
No other materials may be used in construction (no tape, glue, paperclips, etc.)
Yes, you may ?stick? on to the supporting surface (you can use the sticky portion to stick on to the supporting surface below? it doesn?t need to be movable)
The structure must be freestanding (The only thing it can touch is the surface it?s standing upon? you could make supports for the tower as long as they are constructed out of those 12 Post-It notes, but the only thing they support against is the surface below)

i'd like to thank all of the contestants, and jello for not only organizing the event but participating in both categories. truly the bo jackson of atot!
this week's engineering challenge is:
post-it note penny tower
highest number of pennies, or foreign equivalent, supported by a post-it note base wins.
12 post-it notes, unlimited pennies.
the base is to be 6 inches tall at minimum, with no maximum height for post-it note material.
from 0 to 6 inches is to be a "penny exclusion zone" i.e. no pennies below the 6 inch mark.
please provide a picture of the underside of your construction, to make sure there isn't a block of wood or something in there
and established rules:
No other materials may be used in construction (no tape, glue, paperclips, etc.)

tbh I still thought your creative one was better than mine, but its a competition
how about, if someone wins 5 contests, however many weeks apart, engineering and creative combined, you send em a tshirt of their choice from the atot store![]()

my creativity post is....
NSFW but here
I created it with photoshop and set the picture size to 1000 pix by 1000 pix but apparently it got sized down to 500x 500. if this wins, we can always change it

To verify - these are still standard 3" by 3" Post-It notes?
