you can add locks, mages warriors, rets and hunters to that list as well

we don't taunt the blazings, TBH i had no idea that worked, we just kill them. someone calls the side they are coming from and they die
It allows some melee dps on them, since if they were on the mob they'd rip aggo leading to a cast. I generally handle my side and melee the mobs.

Ranged starts in on them, I taunt, melee attacks, mob dies.

Last time in we were melee heavy and this helped a ton.

@Chimley You forgot worms from the aboms, they are high priority.

Put in some solid attempts on the LK last night. Got him to 15% a couple times. The combined defile/valks phase is where we seem to have the most trouble; spreading out enough to keep from insta-exploding a defile while keeping everyone close enough to the center that we're not instantly off the platform if we're picked up is a challenge.

Not bad for a semi-casual guild.

I'm jealous, we haven't had 25 on for our second raid night in 3 out 4 weeks. So we've had one night of LK attempts since getting to him April 1st...

worms are just ae'd and big quick heals on tank, suppressors are still above them
Leaving the worms on a tank for 20 seconds can/will wipe you. Leaving the suppressors on the boss for 20 seconds won't, the enrage isn't that tight. edit: adjusting the priority kinda depends on what your group is having problems with.

My guild is on the LK but we're having problems spreading disease in P1, any recommendations for positioning? Should we stack ranged or have them spread out a bit?

We're having "progression no-shows" as well. At first it was our third night, so we moved that to a day where more people were logging. Then they stopped logging on the new night. Now we're clearing everything in one night and it's the second night that's having attendance issues.

We're about to extend and make every night progression, though we are considering what someone else did, merge with an ICC 10 guild for a deeper bench.

We stack ranged about 10-15 yards from the tank tanking the ghouls. It is less than a 5 second run and our off tank is a paladin so he can easily dispel the disease. The range camp stands just next to the pillar with the LK between Tirion and ourselves. That way, when we hit the transition, the ranged get out quickly without worry.

Your raids dps warriros/DKs/rets/ferals need to taunt the burning skeletons so they are NEVER in melee with their current target. In melee with target=cast lay waste. Between that mob and helping the kiter with the flamming zombie guy my taunt is almost always on CD in that fight (I'm ret).

The mob should die before they hit DR on taunts so ideally you will never see a single tick of lay waste.

That's interesting. I never knew that about the taunt thing. We just have someone call it out when one spawns in vent and it's dead before it has a chance to do anything. At most it gets off one Lay Waste and that's no big deal usually.

I installed windows 7 home premium 64 bits yesterday and wow was working fine without any problem. Today, my logitech G500 mouse just stop working in wow only. The wow cursor won't move at all.

I tried install new setpoint software, make a WoW only profile in setpoint, run setpoint as administrator, run wow repair, run wow as administrator, delete all add ons, etc ... but the mouse still isn't working.

I'm off to reinstall wow now but if anyone have this problem, let me know how you fixed it.

Edit: Fixed it by roll back to last night's restore point. I still don't know what caused the problem.

Seems the latest drama to strike WoW has to do with the chest dropping after killing LK with someone in the raid who has Shadowmourne. Apparently only the person who has done the shadowmourne quest can loot it, and it grants 5 BOE's to the person that gets it. The BOE's are already selling on some servers for 100k (e.g. the mount).

Last night was the first time I had someone complain about my new spec in an instance. I can keep the tank at full and emergency heals plenty fine - but I still DPS. I figured in a heroic 5man, who would complain about an additional 2-3k DPS on a boss? This guy got mad at me because the tank was sitting at 50% health for one fight and started bitching about how I queued as a healer, so I should ignore my damage spells and only heal. Seriously? I'm a freaking druid, I'm not wasting mana to nourish spam on trash, I'd rather throw up HoTS and just AE. I just waited for him to pull Meathook and just left the group.

Anyways, you can see my current spec/gear (which needs upgraaades) http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Thunderhorn&cn=Replace

Doug, that's almost the great 2's spec for arena gogo!

Kind of a reason why I went for it - not necessarily for arena, but it's awesome in BGs for when I don't feel like running feral. I ran probably 30 heroics with that spec, and only had one person complain about my healing - the group I ditched. I'm just setting up a macro now and letting people know at the beginning how I work.

Happens to my guild every week. We even bring in alts and ofc Defile goes to them. We even had one of our officers draw diagrams out for us.

wish me luck, I started my WoW break-up process today by telling my guild that I'm going to stop raiding and see how the casual half lives.

after 5 years of raiding 4-7 nights/week, I need some time off... I'd like to hope that I'll use my newly found time productively, by like going to bed early and showing up to work fully rested instead of half asleep. if I find that I'm just pissing away time watching tv instead, I might revisit my decision.

Blizzard's bomb today about raid progression changes in Cataclysm
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=24401856405&sid=1&pageNo=1

We're continuing to refine the raid progression paths in Cataclysm, and we'd like to share some of those changes with you today. Please enjoy!

The first of the refinements being made is that we're combining all raid sizes and difficulties into a single lockout. Unlike today, 10- and 25-player modes of a single raid will share the same lockout. You can defeat each raid boss once per week per character. In other words, if you wanted to do both a 10- and 25-person raid in a single week, you’d need to do so on two different characters. Normal versus Heroic mode will be chosen on a per-boss basis in Cataclysm raids, the same way it works in Icecrown Citadel. Obviously the raid lockout change doesn't apply in pure Icecrown terms though, as this change goes hand-in-hand with a few other changes to raid progression in Cataclysm.

We're designing and balancing raids so that the difficulty between 10- and 25-player versions of each difficulty will be as close as possible to each other as we can achieve. That closeness in difficulty also means that we'll have bosses dropping the same items in 10- and 25-player raids of each difficulty. They'll have the same name and same stats; they are in fact the exact same items. Choosing Heroic mode will drop a scaled-up version of those items. Our hope is that players will be able to associate bosses with their loot tables and even associate specific artwork with specific item names to a far greater extent than today.

Dungeon Difficulty and Rewards
10- and 25-player (normal difficulty) -- Very similar to one another in difficulty; drop the exact same items as each other.
10- and 25-player (Heroic difficulty) -- Very similar to one another in difficulty; drop more powerful versions of the normal-difficulty items.

We of course recognize the logistical realities of organizing larger groups of people, so while the loot quality will not change, 25-player versions will drop a higher quantity of loot per player (items, but also badges, and even gold), making it a more efficient route if you're able to gather the people. The raid designers are designing encounters with these changes in mind, and the class designers are making class changes to help make 10-person groups easier to build. Running 25-player raids will be a bit more lucrative, as should be expected, but if for a week or two you need to do 10s because half the guild is away on vacation, you can do that and not suffer a dramatic loss to your ability to get the items you want.

We recognize that very long raids can be a barrier for some players, but we also want to provide enough encounters for the experience to feel epic. For the first few raid tiers, our plan is to provide multiple smaller raids. Instead of one raid with eleven bosses, you might have a five-boss raid as well as a six-boss raid. All of these bosses would drop the same item level gear, but the dungeons themselves being different environments will provide some variety in location and visual style, as well as separate raid lockouts. Think of how you could raid Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep separately, but you might still want to hit both every week.

We do like how gating bosses over time allows the community to focus on individual encounters instead of just racing to the end boss, so we’re likely to keep that design moving forward. We don't plan to impose attempt limitations again though, except maybe in cases of rare optional bosses (like Algalon). Heroic mode may not be open from day one, but will become available after defeating normal mode perhaps as little as once or twice.

In terms of tuning, we want groups to be able to jump into the first raids pretty quickly, but we also don’t want them to overshadow the Heroic 5-player dungeons and more powerful quest rewards. We’ll be designing the first few raid zones assuming that players have accumulated some blue gear from dungeons, crafted equipment, or quest rewards. In general, we want you and your guild members to participate in and enjoy the level up experience.

We design our raids to be accessible to a broad spectrum of players, so we want groups to be able to make the decision about whether to attempt the normal or Heroic versions of raids pretty quickly. The goal with all of these changes is to make it as much of a choice or effect of circumstance whether you raid as a group of 10 or as a group of 25 as possible. Whether you're a big guild or a small guild the choice won't be dependent on what items drop, but instead on what you enjoy the most.

We realize that with any changes to progression pathways there are going to be questions. We're eagerly awaiting any that we may have left unanswered. To the comments!

Question: how are you going to deal with millions of people quiting the game?

I'm sure they'll see how it plays in beta... 10+25 every week is kinda what's been giving me burnout. I feel like, in order to maximize progression through 25-man normal content, I also need to be running 10-man hard modes for gear, which leads to me raiding 6 nights/week (T/W/R/Sun in 25 + Fri/Sat/Sun in 10)
