They could just remove the authenticator after showing the pet.

Could just make everyone show it at least once a week. It'll eventually get to where it's such a hassle to take it off the account and put it back on for the check-in that people will just leave it on.

It literally takes an extra 5 seconds at most to log in with an authenticator.

Show what? the pet?

I think once you get the pet, it's there forever regardless of if you have the authenticator active or not.

Hit cap, yo.

edit: Gemming priority = Defense to cap, should this this through gear > hit, should get most of this through gear > Expertise (only if threat is an issue) > stam. Of course activate your meta... Socket bonuses of +12 stam are worth it, imo.

In ~ToC+ level gear you should be able to hit most of those caps and stack pure stam unless your really short one stat. This is really dependent on your threat vs. your dps so there's no magic number on hit/expertise. I always recommend hit cap, ever class, every situation except pve healers.

I know I'm below the hit cap... I ignored the pieces of T10 that actually have hit on them for the far superior ilevel 264 pieces. If I can get one of those two aforementioned pieces of non-set tanking gear, I'll gain far more hit.

Also, hit is still a threat stat, so you technically may want to add your "only if threat is an issue" tag to that. I only lose threat if an idiot opens up incredibly early and I don't pop wings for some reason.

As a DK (especially Frost), threat seems to be a non-issue since the Icy Touch buff. If the DPS is starting to catch up, just line up some Death Runes and Icy Touch four times in a row, then go back to your rotation.

you should cap out spell hit for taunting (with glyphed taunt), missed taunts can cause wipes.

While hit is the best threat stat, this is why you stack hit.

It's just like PvP healers, they stack hit so their fear/HoJ/cyclone/totems land. It's not used frequently, but it's extremely important that it works.

why'd they take out the ability to buy pvp weapons even if they are a few seasons old? I need a better 2h tanking weapon than the Jawbone from fricken Naxx. (Again, I don't raid with this guy).

How's dual-wield tanking?

Dual-wield is good if you need a bit extra defense and such I think. I don't tank on a DK so my word shouldn't be taken as law, but the majority of those I see are 2 Handing. I think there are a few 2 handers in the new ICC 5 mans worth grabbing.

The 'issue' with a DK using tank weapons is that tank weapons are low damage, and get their DPS from being fast. But DK threat is based in instant attacks that use how hard the weapon hits as their baseline. On the plus side, if you talent for it you'll hit with both weapons instead of just one. But with tanking weapons it still works out to be less damage and threat than a 2 hander because fast 1 handers simply do not hit very hard.

The highest threat for a dual weild DK tank is using 2 *slow* 1 handers - so DPS weapons, not Tanking ones. But you give up tanking stats (esp Stam) in order to do that. The compromise position is to main hand a DPS weap, and offhand a Tanking one.

The one shining exception to the 'Tank Weapons are Fast And Hit Like Wet Noodles' rule is the Quel'Serrar from Onyxia. The 4 Horsemen in Naxx also can drop a slow tanking weapon, but it's item level is only 213. So it's of more limited usage.

For DK Blood tanking if you just started try to get Edge of Ruin or Marrowstrike from H-ToC 5-man. If you can tank H-HoR shoot for Orca-Hunter's Harpoon.

If you're going DW Frost try to get dual Nighttime from FoS.

Fortunately, I have two taunts :p.

Again though, single-target threat is less of an issue with the new icy touch, so two tank weapons are currently viable (at least until they nerf it). And AOE threat is handled by DnD, Howling Blast and Blood Boil.

it's weird... somewhere along the line I went from not being able to afford flasks for raids to having more gold than I know what to do with (sitting on 35K right now) without really trying.

Daily quest or what?

I dont know if Im actually going to renew. Im already feeling bored with the 7 day come back thing. Its so endless, Im not able to do ICC cause my gear is still from Naxx, so I have to farm gear, but in the end no one wants to do the other raids unless its GDKP, which when i left Im broke, so im doing questlines to get gold...

Has anyone ever gone through their WOW Screenshot folder and looked at how your experience was?

It's kind of cool seeing what you did when you first started out (And how much i sucked). Also cool seeing what you did with your friends and memories of those all-nighters when the game first came out. =D

I lost a lot of my really old screenshots, but I'll never forget that I used to be a noob rogue that used daggers with Sinister Strike.... My reasoning for it? "Faster weapons apply poisons faster!" Which was true, but not too sure that made up for the loss in instant weapon damage :p.

Then, there was when I first started playing WoW and I thought moving around while fighting raised my chance to dodge an enemy :p. I remember running all around mobs in Teldrassil trying to dodge more.

EDIT: Oldest pictures I have are from level 60 though... I have some of my rogue in T1 with... I think it was either Vis'kag/BB or maybe the Dal'Rend's set. I'll have to load up my external and take a peek.

I turn all my frost badges into primordial saronite.

I do the fishing daily, but that's only to try and get the rod and I'll only do the raid weekly if it's in icecrown. haven't played any of my alts in at least a month and I've dropped into only logging on to my main to raid.

I'm teetering on the edge of taking a break from the game entirely. I really need to like get out there and meet new people IRL and I've been thinking about applying to do some volunteer work. there's no chance in hell I could do my normal 45 hour work week + volunteering a few days a week + raiding 7 nights a week.

(we only do ICC25 4 nights, but I'm also in an ICC10 that's 2 nights and Ulduar10 1 night... I don't need anything in ICC10, but I figured that if I kept with the same group every week, eventually we'd get LK down and start working on hard modes where I *could* use upgrades. and obvs there's not shit for me in Ulduar, but we have a few people that still need a couple hard modes for their drakes)

So guys what's up next in terms of patches/content? Between now and Cataclysm? I realized yesterday, upon taking my Warrior into Howling Fjord, that I really love the newer areas... but want more new areas (single player content). Can't wait for the xpac because of this but I think a sunwell-esque zone would hold me over for a little while.
