predownload the patch so all you have to do is enter your CD key and go if you are getting a had copy at midnight

To play Cataclysm the moment it goes live on midnight (3am EST) Dec. 7 without pre-ordering via battle.net, just follow these easy steps:
1) Make sure World of Warcraft and/or the launcher and background downloader are completely closed.
2) Open up your World of Warcraft folder.
3) Open Launcher.wtf in Notepad and change the "accountType" line from LK to CT.
4)Open Config.wtf in Notepad and change the "accountType" line from LK to CT.
Now load up the launcher and you should begin downloading 700 megs or so of new material. That's the last bit of data you need to play on launch night. Enjoy!

also seems that if you want the cooking realm first, you've got about 4 minutes from release to get it or you probably won't.

how does that fuck you if you don't try to rush your characters? it fucks you if youre trying to rush...by assuring that you dont get extra exp for killing stuff in catazones while grouped. doesn't effect quest exp though...

I thought at first this was to force people to buy the next expansion as soon as they hit max level at their current expansion level. Then I read that quest XP is not affected by this change, so this is more likely related to preventing people AoE leveling with mobs from the previous expansion. I believe there's one location like this already found in Icecrown somewhere that may or may not have been patched.

umm people generally go at 58 and 68 im 100% not seeing your point

So that explains why I got 50 exp from a mob when I was in The Blasted Lands 😛.

i still fail to see why its a bad thing to go to a new zone when you're the right level for that zone anyway

Well, I look at it this way... you level for a week maybe and then spend over a year at max level. Does it really matter if you spend only a few more days at max level? 😛

about to get ready to head out to the store and pick up my copy, should have 1 if not 2 85's by the time I get back home.

the way to zerg level is apparently to just chain run BRC to 82 and then go to deepholm

Pulled up at about 3 after. Was probably 30 or so cars in the lot. Several pulling away already with several small groups chatting outside and several exiting the store. Even a few that looked to be hotties if not so bundled up.

Went in, 5 peeps working that I could see. Was turning the key to start the car at 10 after. At least 2 vehicles parked and getting ready to enter as I left and a few more emtering the lot.

While I went to a rather less popular BB this year, judging from the number of set up preorders still waiting, I'd say the slow turnout was much more about the play delay than store selection. Prior to this year anyone buying could immediately go home and play, this year only the lefties can.

They also gave me an unfolder cata poster, not sure if just for preorders or what.

Now that i'm home and looking at the bag, seems they used some type of security enabled bag, it's clear plastic with BB logo but must have had some adhesive pull strip on the inside so you couldn't toss anything else in as I can't just open it.

stuff inside looks nicer than the wrath one, better book and more visuals on the mouse pad.


oh, and we already have level 85 🙂
