i started leveling again a shammy on a different server for shitz n giggles. Such a different and improved experience. I'm loving it. Did RFC last night, it was great.

I rarely had issues with it raiding but PvP it did not help any.

I used to do a lot of PVP as a rogue or priest in Vanilla and I used to click back then. It really wasn't bad, because I actually memorized the position of buttons, so I didn't have to look. The only problem it causes are when you want to quickly switch targets AND also use an ability ASAP. You could try to TAB target, but that's not always guaranteed and that's just using a keybind 😛.

Another problem was using a targetable AoE. You have to click the ability and then select the area where hotkeying allows you to have your mouse in the right spot in the first place.

The thing is.... both of these problems do carry over to PVE as well, but they're not as prevalent given most fights don't include a lot of fast target switching, fast interrupting, etc.

It's still okay to click some abilities though. For example, I have very little reason to bind resurrection on my Enhancement Shaman, so that's all the way on the right side of my bar and I just click it.

You really want to see a clicking nightmare... I'll have to put up a picture of my Priest's old setup before they removed downranking!

EDIT:

I forgot to include the third problem with clicking and that's quick movement. It's not possible to turn and cast an ability at the same time as a clicker unless you're also a dreaded keyboard turner 😛.

former guildie of mine is saying its only gonna take him 16 hours to hit 85, saying he tested it on 2 different chars a week before the beta came down and hes confident itll happen on live as well

if hes right he will be 85 before i even get the game installed

I tend to doubt that. Rather, I expect the amount of experience required to level to be raised and/or the amount of experience given as quest rewards to be reduced on Live, as compared to the Test realm.

should I be concerned about hitting Cat in my green quest rewards/BoA gear? it doesn't seem worth replacing any of it now considering how much better Cat gear is than anything I could buy/craft now, but some of the comments in this thread have me worried about getting my ass kicked.

Being worried about getting your ass kicked is part of the fun, get out there and try it!

Eh, someone went 70 - 80 IIRC in under 24 hours from Wrath release. 80-85 in less than a day seems quite possible, especially if it's been planned out.

blizz has stated beta xp rewards will match live, and with that being the case powerlevelers are expecting to hit 85 at around the 12 hour mark.

Wow really, why make leveling so fast in cat, it took the majority of people in my guild 2-3 days to get to 80, but if it takes 12 hours of grinding instances, I think most will be doing raids/heroics the next day.

Wow... I don't know what it is, but almost all the tanks I run into around the 60-70 level range are just... awful.

Almost every pull, I pull aggro on the extra mobs because of incidental AoE from Seals of Command + Seal of Righteousness. I also regularly find myself purposely pulling mobs onto myself because I see them head straight for the healer or some other rather squishy character. I may not be a tank, but I still have a -20% damage taken cooldown (that I use often 😛) that makes me a lot less squishy.

got my new logi 518 in the mail yesterday to replace the razor at my secondary desk that has the broken middle button.

i'll give it a solid 75%. i don't understand why, but for some reason logi decides to use the same damn mold for their wired as wireless stuff, so the body of the mouse if so much damn bigger than it needs to be. I normally like to use fingertip movement, and doing so on these oversides things I end up turning it sideways with the raised and slope of the body.

also think I may need to kill the logi software as the in game and our of game mouse scroll speeds are screwy and I have to adjust each time I switch between them.

Had to unplug the logi and put the broke razor back in service. I just couldn't stand the enormous size of it.

Worked a bit last night and have my kog full with 24 completed dailies once the event goes live. Also got my email this morning that my copy is ready to be picked up (unfortunately with the disclaimer that I can't pick it up till the 7th.

Planning on dropping off my 24 icecrown dailies, flying to org to buy normal weather flying, and then head to hyjal.

Only 24? Just couldn't muster up the last one to hit 25? 🙂

Are they not going to do maintenance this week? I mean, chances are the servers will go down anyway, but there isn't anything scheduled?

I've still got the quest in my log for the title reward in BC. Still haven't finished it, but as someone starting the quest new won't get the title, I've just kept it still in the log.

Servers shouldn't have any need to reset, the phasing and such should be time stamped in the code to go away at midnite leftcoast time and the account server won't take keys till then which limits you from using the other features.

finally hit 80 on my priest last night (she's the third or fourth character I ever rolled), abandoned every WotLK quest in my logs, discovered Blackrock Caverns so I could queue for it asap, and reset my hearth from Dalaran to Stormwind.

all ready for Cat

though I'm going on a date tonight instead of waiting to login... weird and strange priorities 😛

I'm actually of coming back for Cataclysm for a little just to check it out. I haven't play this game in probably 3 yrs at least but I'm still curious nevertheless. I hear the leveling is faster than ever, which is fine with me since I really don't have the time that I used to. My only problem is that I loathe soloing and I don't know anyone else that plays the game.

Is it a good time to even come back? I'll be starting over from level 1 since I sold the accounts I originally played on (they were EU accounts anyway).

Man, Paladins... I think they stole the cake from Death Knights as being the most OP leveling class. I was soloing the Ring of Blood quests at level 70 (no Northrend gear) and I would've solo'd Durn, but someone came and helped me, and I'm not going to get angry at someone just being nice 😛. The fact that Flash of Light casts in 1.5 seconds and heals me for around 3-4k and 5-6k on crit is one of the big reasons that it's so easy to solo this stuff. You only lose 0.1 seconds on hit, so it's nothing. If you also use Zealotry + Word of Glory, you have great (free) healing too.

I can't wait to kill some Northrend elites !

Cata isn't enabled until 3AM anyway.
