Delaying the launch makes Blizzard greedy? Explain.

They're starting everyone on equal footing. No one can play until 12:01 Pacific. That is exactly how it should be (I'm Central, so I have to wait until 2), and is what Valve does as well. Install the game/add the key to your account, then when it turns on at 12:01 pacific, play. Easy as pie.

I can't believe people are crying over having to wait at most 3 hours. It sucked for me during the WotLK launch, because my server is an east coast server. My guild leveling group had to either wait for me to install or just level without me. It wasn't a hard choice for them 😛. Now we get to all play together.
 
It has something in the realm of 0.000000000000001% chance of having anything to do with "being equal and fair".


Prior to cata, blizz products sold strictly through regular channels, meaning that depending on different vendor agreements and such they are making say 35-65% from each sale. Now with digital they are making close to 100% from each sale. So now that we know this is an endeavor to improve the income intake (a key reason why I was stating it as fact months ago that cata would be a 2010 release), to keep cost to a minimum what do we do, we simply set the servers for a single release moment instead of staggering the realms per their time zones.

So yeah, this has all been set up with regard to money, or if you don't believe it is so you can discuss that with me in person when the tickets are put on sale for the east coast blizzcon.
 
I'm sorta bummed i opted for release day collector's edition, so i wont be able to play until after work. Not a big deal, i don't tend to stay up late but for WotLK, i did the whole waiting outside for a few hours, played a few hours and showed up to work looking like a zombie.

My 62 gnome priest will now sit idle until im down with my higher level toons.

Anyone play on Firetree? My buddy and some of his friends play there and want me transfer horde. Thinking of transferring to a Troll Druid.

Can't see flash stuff on the mobile, but think the europe weenies release was about 8 hours ahead of us, so their countdown is at almost down to 3 hours now.

Today actually turned out as a nice release day. Stay up and watch the game, it should end in time to drive over and be at the store right around midnite to pick up the game, head back home and sleep for 2 hours then wake up and chug the 4loko.
 
Why the hoopla over rolling Worgen and Goblins... if you pay for the monthly fee to play, why not just pay to change the race of an existing 80 to one of the new races?

Or will those race changes not be allowed at first?

I'm saving goblin/worgen for classes that I don't already have at a high level (probably worgen warrior and goblin mage)

if the DK starting area is any indication, the worgen and goblin starting areas will likewise be awesome and totally worth playing even if I delete the characters as soon as I finish.
 
That was kinda my thinking, just play to 15 to see the content and race change an 80 if so inclined. I just want a small, horde warrior to play.
 
I kept a char relatively low, but still didn't want to delete it as I had been getting him the over time achievements.

I'll probably start a char and play through the first zone on a goblin and wolf on some no-name server just to see them as I've done all others then delete them.
 
I wonder how many people will be [dressed up] at the stores tonight to purchase a boxed copy. I manage to quit the game a few years ago but it would be interesting to see [and take pictures].
 
I've heard some of the yahoos out west, particularly at the locations where they have company peeps at have some, most elsewhere even the other wow guys would mock them too much.
 
Not me. I only took thursday and Friday off. When wotlk came out, I had all the time in the world and still didn't 80 until the following week. This is assuming that time to hit 70-80 is equal to 80-85

I'm leveling up casually this time around.

when WotLK came out, I was bunkered down in my apartment with a freezer full of hotpockets and a fridge full of mountain dew and I hit 80 in like 3-4 days (didn't leave my apartment, though I did sleep and shower).

it totally burned me out, though, and I wasn't able to bring myself to level another character through wrath for like 6 months afterward.

When I did the 80 grind, I did it in about 2 days, just hammered out instances with aoe and a solid group with plenty of rest. From what I read, you can do the 85 grind with quests in less than a day, kinda sad imo.
 
I'm only looking to take a few hours off tomorrow if anything. Would be a bummer if my copy from Amazon was left at the office and I got home too late to get it 😛.

EDIT:

Although, I'm still looking for a guild to get into... one that hopefully does not have much fail 🙁.
 
hmm, didn't realize that you didn't have to pay to get some stuff from the remote auction stuff, did that change recently? just logged in over a bnet and noticed that stuff on my homepage for the first time.

ive had the free armory app on my phone since earlier this year, hasn't cost me a penny but it was kinda confusing to use at first. now i am always doing auctions on the train
