Worried about dropping subscription numbers and d3 delay going into financial forecast, no worries...just recoup some funds by canceling blizzcon!

I was thinking roughly the same thing. Probably also tired of fans asking questions or relaying issues at the Q&As that the devs have no plans of answering/fixing.

Well lets be fair. IF they release Pandaria in the summer and D3 does come out before Blizzcon would be this year there is honestly nothing they could show at blizzcon.

I haven't been paying attention. Are there any predictions about when the next expansion is going to happen yet?

or if there's going to be any content patches coming soon? I can't imagine this is it all the way to summer and beyond. I would be pissed I committed to a year for that.

Way too soon. Have a feeling d3 is pulling on a lot of company resources right now and even their best hope for mop release could be sliding now.

I'm betting on MOP Beta in about a month and release in May/June.

Book it.

We need a transition patch first, which I would guess we may see around late March. The only thing that I don't know is whether Blizzard wants the transition patch to be different than the major patch. A transition patch would be similar to the Gnomeregan/Troll events prior to Cataclysm's release. The major patch is the game changer (i.e. 4.0, 5.0, etc.), which I assume Blizzard would want to avoid mixing sweeping changes with a transition patch. New content (not necessarily raids) + major game changes don't usually mix well.

Yeah there will be at least 2 major patches still, the event one followed by 5.0 pre-release on.

I agree that there will be a transition patch (5.0.x) but I'm guessing it would be later than March, maybe mid/end of April or early May, and then MoP itself less than 8 weeks later (early summer).

I don't think there will be another major patch (4.4.x) before 5.0, although minor (4.3.3+) may be possible.

If the transition patch (kind of a bad name for it) is what I think it is (story-based quest line content), it will most likely be 4.4 not 5.x.x.

I think it will be out sooner than people think. Dragon soul is a small raid and theres not much left to do. I know for me, someone who doesnt do heroic raids anymore, i am essentially content complete with 4.3 and thats only from playing 1, sometimes 2 days a week since the patch came out. Got most ofthe loot i want, done all the content, etc. At least after ICC they had the patch with Ruby Sanctum for a bit of filler in the WOTLK to Cata wait.

I am just glad they are going back to the continent model. Cata was a very forgettable period in WoW's history for me.

In that way cata ways kinda bad, but they had several spots on the original continent to finish and in that way it kinda went with the events of the expansion

ASo lunar festival blows. Anyone disagree?

Lunar festival has always kind of been lame. They need to turn Omen into an actual boss (with loot) instead of some random thing that everyone just gangs up on. Maybe they could consider making it a raid boss too (it sort of is right now)... that would be interesting! It would probably work since they already have the raid finder, but it would probably be more work since they would end up making three difficulties (RF, 10, 25) when holiday bosses normally only have one (5).

Haven't checked yet, but hope I've got enough coins allready (fu darkmoon) already to get the pet as I've never spent a single one in all the years of collecting.

Yep. Make it drop loot like Horseman, Ahune, etc..

Ignore the patch names in my post then and just look at the numbers.

My prediction (which 100% coming out of my behind):

There will be no 4.4.x
There may be 4.3.3 (or higher) --> March/April
MoP Beta --> March/April
One big patch before MoP release, which will be 5.0.x --> April/May
MoP release --> May/June

IMO panda must come out ~mid-summer at the latest. Absolutely must.

They booked people into the free Diablo III for 12 month commitment thing. They need Panda to come out with 3-4 months left on people's 12 month commitment so people who signed up for that commitment feel obligated to buy the Panda pack so they don't 'waste' 3-4 months of subscription fees.

The more time left on that 12 month commitment, the more people who are barely hanging on to WoW who will buy the expansion. The less time on that commitment remaining, the more people who are "on the edge" will decide to skip the Panda Pack.
