finally got around to getting in on the regular PTR. ZG is still there for now along with the rep for it. Also got 2 emails for about 1K in gold from points being sold...didn't think this was supposed to happen with the incremental cap thingie. Even though for the cata hasn't happened and major zone changes don't come till the next patch, some noticeable improvement with the graphics.

Patch 4.0.1 - PTR Build 13131
The test realms have been updated with a new PTR build, this build is tagged as (Release) and seems to be a release candidate for live servers, it's a very small patch with only a few changes to spell data. You can still expect the patch on October 5th or 12th as far as I'm concerned.

Keepers of time done, Kaluak done

Ogrila, Frenzyheart WIP limited by dailies

Zandalar next, need about 200 more bijous to take me the way (farming bijous on my pally since they are faster then sending to rogue)

Timbermaw will be next after Zandalar

Update:

Zandalar - Complete

Ogrila/Frenzy - WIP (Revered)

Timbermaw - about to begin

After that I am deciding whether to start doing the Insane reputation factions, or just simply finish off Steamweedle to hit 40 factions faster, and then worry about insane later

well with the change to dm, it'll be hard for them to justify keeping the libram turn ins at such a low level. i planned on getting insane but i never got around to it...as i sort of thought it could be done at any point. if it's going away, i simply won't be able to get it b/c i honestly can't invest the time to do it before the expansion hits.

Timbermaw takes about 6 hours of constant grinding. a bottle of your fav spirit helps this process

just farm the camps outside timbermaw hold in felwood, don't turn in any beads or totems until you are revered

If you're alliance, you can go for Winterspring Trainer reputation at the same time as Timbermaw. You'll get Timbermaw done long before you finish Winterspring Trainers.

On that note, I wish I was able to keep my Winterspring Trainer rep/mount when I faction changed. :(

I decided to reinstall WoW today after 3 years of not playing. The patches I have had to download and install is getting maddening. Of course the blizzard downloader isn't even downloading anything anymore, says that the Tracker is not responding and I don't get the news on launcher startup. I have to go through mirror sites. It stopped at 70% somewhere in the 2.XX and hasn't worked since.

If I were to buy WotLK would that allieviate some patches? I lost my Burning crusade disks unfortunately and had to download the game client from Blizzard. Took 16 hours...

Officially announced: December 7th launch

IRVINE, Calif., Oct 04, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) - Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that World of Warcraft(R): Cataclysm(TM), the highly anticipated third expansion for the world's most popular subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game*, will be released starting on December 7, 2010. The expansion will be available on DVD-ROM for Windows(R) XP/Windows Vista(R)/Windows(R) 7 and Macintosh(R) at a suggested retail price of $39.99 and will also be offered as a digital download from the Blizzard Store. A special Collector's Edition packed with bonus items will be available exclusively in retail stores for a suggested retail price of $79.99.

"Cataclysm includes the best content we've ever created for World of Warcraft. It's not just an expansion, but a re-creation of much of the original Azeroth, complete with epic new high-level adventures for current players and a redesigned leveling experience for those just starting out," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "With the help of our beta testers, we're putting on the final polish, and we look forward to welcoming gamers around the world to enjoy it in just a couple of months."

The first two World of Warcraft expansions, The Burning Crusade(R) and Wrath of the Lich King(R), each shattered PC game sales records upon their release.* In Cataclysm, the face of Azeroth will be forever altered by the return of the corrupted Dragon Aspect Deathwing. Players will explore once-familiar areas of the world that have now been reshaped by the devastation and filled with new adventures. In an effort to survive the planet-shattering cataclysm, two new playable races - worgen and goblins - will join the struggle between the Alliance and the Horde. As players journey to the new level cap of 85, they'll discover newly revealed locations, acquire new levels of power, and come face to face with Deathwing in a battle to determine the fate of the world.

The beta test for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is currently underway. Visit the official Battle.net(R) website at http://www.battle.net to set up a Battle.net account and sign up for a chance to participate. The best part of that is the announcement of the digital download. To hell with midnight lines standing around with you stinky nerds. =)

WoW is great in bursts, in my experience. I haven't played since the night we dropped LK on normal mode back in April sometime. I'm pretty pumped to play again!

Hmmm... Standing in line for a couple hours... Or waiting a week for the download to complete...

Perhaps the best bet is to preorder and have FedUPS handle it.:p

My cata CE is still listed the same at Amazon.

I believe that would help you out. The download and patch process didn't take that long for me, but my connection usually maxes out at 20mbit.

You can download patches from this site via HTTP:

Thanks. I am all patched up and it was my windows 7 firewall control preventing me from downloading patches. I turned it off and it just blocked blizzards patch servers. Now, it seems that someone stole my char while I wasn't playing for a few years and linked it to a different BNet account. I dunno what to do. I am on hold atm seeing about a restore but I have no CD keys and such. This is turning into a nightmare. I just wanted to putz around on a PvP server and not have to buy all of the expansions at full price ; ; If I can't get my account back, does anyone know where I can buy Original, Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King combo for the cheapest, if they offer it?
