At what point will NY Jets fans realize its all hype?

Dude, Jets shut down the corners during those drives, and NE had no deep options. Basically, the Jets were content giving them 8-10 yards per snap up the middle to keep the clock running.

Pats had no better option.

I agree and at least for this game, Moss was sorely missed. I'll admit it too, the Jets were the better team. I had to LOL though, every time Brady seemed to find even a hint of rhythm another Jets "injury" occurred allowing their "D" to get a blow, amazingly every "injury" only lasted for one play then the "injured" player resumed at full speed with no ill effects, I'm wondering if the front office might get a call about this, don't get me wrong, not the reason the Pats lost but bush-league tactics for sure..

totally this. not only this, but the bears beat the jets a month ago. not in september, and there werent injuries to hide behind as an excuse. not that Im saying it means its a done deal, but they certianly arent pushovers.

somehow the bears are way better than I thought they were going to be(when cutler is under control)

the pack are just plain good. great d, great passing. good o line.

Rogers stats were incredible, what, 31-36, 3 TD's and zero picks. Then you have to consider he made a LOT pf those throws while out of the pocket..

I love that Bart Scott "CAN'T WAIT." It's already becoming a meme.

I watch a lot of football, can't see where "every" team does the fake injury bit but anyway I'm hoping Pitt rips NYJ a new one, we'll see how Shachez fares against a team with an actual pass rush..

The problem wasn't that the Jets were giving up the middle; the problem was that the Pats kept running the ball and eating too much time off the clock and they showed absolutely no urgency. Down 10 with 8 minutes left in a playoff game, you don't keep pounding the ball.

almost good as the look on that bitch bradys face last night ...... :awe:

I agree, I laughed even though I don't like the Jets (or specifically, their fans) either. Brady is 0-3 in his last 3 playoff games with a 74.6 rating. At least the last two (and probably the third, but I'm too lazy to check) were at home. I'm wondering why he is getting a free pass while in Manning's case, he played well against the Jets but people are screaming "choker."

yeah, but atlanta looked like shit. And I dont think it was all because the pack was playing well. great stats for sure. But I would expect it this Sunday

I think all were at home, unless the last one was the super bowl.....

Meh, those screaming "chocker" are idiots.

The NFL is officially teh suck. If a scrub ass team with a weak QB like Sanchez is one of the elite then you know you suck. The days of the real teams like the old 49er's or Cowboys are gone. Now all that's left is a bunch of watered down garbage teams.

Don't remind me. Everyone was just surprised. In those moments, Brady usually goes shot gun and passes it all over the field while his receivers run the slant. Everyone kept seeing a running back there ....we were all perplexed. It seemed like Brady's head was somewhere else and not in the game. Do we start blaming Gisele?

In fairness, up until this year, the NFL has generally had clear favorites who were head and shoulders above the rest of the league. Last year, the Colts and Saints led their respective conferences all season and were the clear favorites.

Also, remember, this wouldn't be the first time a team with a weak QB but great defense has gone this far or even won a Super Bowl. Remember Trent Dilfer?

Uhh...hello! '06 Superbowl with Grossman at the helm for the Bears. That defense drug their team throw the season even with Sexy Rexy trying his best to throw or fumble things away.

If that scrub ass QB with a weak team wins the next game then tbat scrub ass QB will have the nfl record for road playoff wins.

Patriots are going to be sucking lots of Jets' dick in the next few years. I see a decline of Boston and the rise of NY as the epicenter of sports here in the north east.

Well, statistically it would have to happen sooner or later since NY stacked the ballot box with 3 teams whereas NE has to share one. 😛

yup

and devin hester helped some too 😀

after all

they were who those guys thought they were

With the Jets secondary, I think they'll do well with teams that rely more on the pass than the run. What I'm not sure on is their offense.

The NFL has been trying for years to get to the point where there are no dominant franchises. They want any team to have a chance at winning.

I am going to shut up talking about the Jets. Contrary to what I predicted, they beat the Colts and Patriots at home. The Steeler\Jets could be a good competitive game.

yeah, but that's the exact same stuff that every team does, in almost every game, throughout every season. No mystery or foul there.

I really don't think the Pats had a better option. people seem to think they were running the ball, which is ridiculous. Almost all of those plays were passes--and they were only allowed short dink passes. That's good defense.

Brady's choice was to throw the ball away and lose a down each time, or keep moving and keep getting first downs, maybe hope someone can make a move and free for a big gainer. it seems to me that you want to keep moving and getting first downs rather than give up downs on each play.

The one criticism--and huge--is that they rarely clocked the ball after 1st down. that was certainly idiotic. But it wasn't like they were running the ball on every play like people seem to recall.

He was screaming "Throw the ball!" It was very easy to read his lips on the replay.

that was after one play. One single run play.

Every thing else was a short ~3-8 yard PASS up the middle, almost all of them for first downs. maybe they looked like runs, b/c they were quick and short, but mostly pass plays. The Jets shut down the corners. there were no other options.

The camera limits our perspective on the game. had we been able to see the entire field, the audience would have a greater perspective on what was actually going on.

I really don't think you guys were watching the same game I was watching.

The best part about that team was that their only offensive threat was a special teams player/CB. Not a single snap on offense the entire year!

😀
