After work, I did the same 47-mile highway loop I did Monday: http://app.strava.com/rides/7475543 I started later and spent more of the ride in darkness, and it was 20F colder with a little more wind, so my average speed was a bit lower for the same average heart rate. But it was good training.

So 47 miles plus 3 getting to work and back = +50.

Only 3 today, saving my energy for the start of the mileage challenge on Strava, which starts tomorrow. Now if only the weather forecast would shape up...

Day 1 of the Nuun 1479-miles-in-May challenge: http://app.strava.com/rides/7726329

73.4 miles, plus about 1 1/2 in the morning, so let's say 75. This was just a vanilla 4-hour highway cruise, starting at about 6:20PM, so I was out long after nightfall.

An easy 21 miles last night, 86 degrees and windy. This is only May, right?

Total: 4752

***Let's all work to finish off the 5,000 mark before the end of this weekend! Everybody get out there!

80 miles after work last night: http://app.strava.com/rides/7785048 Now up to 10% completion on the May mileage challenge. I also rode a mile to work, so +81 for me:

Total: 4833

It's 90% chance of rain today, I'm going to make it a rest/laundry day, so I should have another 3 miles to post tonight.

24 miles in the morning, 28 miles on the way home. Someone has secretly replaced my legs with feeble ones, the pace was very slow on both rides :(

It was a foggy, cool, damp morning here at the start of my ride, but the sun and breezes took control and it turned into a nice day. 50 miles was the plan, but a poorly communicated road closure added 5 miles of detour. 55 total.

HEY! GIMME BACK THE GOOD LEGS!!

I slept in this morning, got up and dragged my feet until mid-afternoon, and finally got out there for a ride. It was another out-&-back on the highway since I'm trying to rack up lots of distance for the Strava/Nuun mileage challenge.

http://app.strava.com/rides/7952059

82 miles, and I had a ~15mph headwind all the way out, so the return trip was a lot easier. Traffic was very heavy, probably because it's the weekend of the Bloomsday 12k running race which draws ~50,000 people, but the highway has good shoulder width so it wasn't an issue.

Congrats to all on hitting the 5,000 mile mark! On we go to 10,000 miles!

50 miles today with one of my club mates. Actually felt better and rode faster on a harder course than yesterday's ride. This should be it as I take some rest days before next weekend's back-to-back century rides. (http://tosrv.org)

I did an out-&-back ride to the top of Steptoe Butte: http://app.strava.com/rides/8024713

121 miles @ 18.0mph moving average, solo, on the sport-touring bike with a pannier, fenders, lights, and a gallon of drinks (got me through the first 75 miles, then I picked up a couple quarts of water at the rest stop on my return trip). So that was a pretty good result.

Now I'm up to 409 miles out of 1,479 for the Strava/Nuun May mileage challenge. 28% done. We'll see if I can manage another ~150 over the next two days... weather's supposed to be primo, but I do have to work both days.

73 more miles tonight, 19.4mph moving average: http://app.strava.com/activities/8097576 I hit the turnaround point at twilight and returned in the dark.

I was planning to do this one again tomorrow, but I went a little harder tonight than I should've. Guess I'll see how I feel tomorrow after work. I'm up to 33% complete on the Nuun mileage challenge, with three weeks to go.

I decided to do that route again: http://app.strava.com/activities/8164179 A little slower, 18.9mph moving average. 38% complete on the mileage challenge... I'll have to average about 40 miles a day for the rest of the month to meet my goal.
