50+, Don't as much anymore, just a few minutes now and again, to shoot, zap, laser, i love you, stab, flamethrow, and even kill a few bad guys.
Wife is 60+, a retired school teacher, and is currently playing Far Cry, AVIDLY!, go figure.

Well, this would be his girlfriend. And quite frankly, if he spent HALF the time he spends getting off to playing computer games trying to GET ME OFF FOR A CHANGE, I might not have an issue with it. Whatcha think guys?

Go ahead and tell me to STFU Tim, but I can go ahead and share what our relationship is REALLY like. Like how you call me Kittybootles, and how you look at me when i'm falling asleep (and then TELL me about it). How's that for manly behavior?

And to Buck: He would "ditch" me IF HE DIDN'T, LIVE IN MY HOUSE, DRIVE THE CAR I HELPED HIM BUY, COOK FOR HIM, CLEAN FOR HIM. Ask him about ALL that.
Oh, and on top of all that, I'm d*mn smart, I have nice tits, nice firm *ss, and by god if I am not fat.
It seems to me that if you want a REPRESENTATIVE sample of the ENTIRE population you wouldn't ask the people who splooge their pants over ATOT.
Maybe instead of giving him tips to "ditch" me, you guys should give him tips how to "please" me.

And now all you little dorks who sit at your computers all day as if it were REAL life (which, it's not) can sit here at shoot your mouths off. I DARE you to show it to any of the women in your lives. Oh, wait, you probly don't have the BALLS.

If gaming gets in the way, dump him. It isn't normal for someone in their 20's to game all the time (as in, no other hobbies, no real job, no friends, etc.) If you don't have a problem with him gaming, but it is more like a problem that it is all he does, then dump him. Some weeks I got with no gaming, but sometimes my best friend will come over and I'll play BF2 for 4 hours. It depends on how busy I am. I don't go to bars, etc. But then again, I help my wife, I am building her a 5000 sq. ft. house right now, and spend a lot of time with my daughter. For me, gaming takes the place of bars, TV, etc. I would much rather go wakeboarding and drive my boat with my family then game...

Also, I live in Alaska. There isn't a whole lot to do during the winter.

Put it this way, if his hobby was something other than gaming, such as water polo, would you be just as upset? It sounds to me like he passes on you for a hobby, regardless of what the hobby is.

On another note, will you marry me?

I just might be available soon. I'd make a DAMN FINE WIFE for any man who doesn't A) want some stupid ninny who whines until he PAYS FOR HER SUV and B)doesn't want his woman popping babies out like jellie beans.... talk about a GREAT way to suck some money down the drain.
It sounds like you DO have a good head on your shoulders. Smart move. Kids=less money for you. I find a Mercedes MUCH more satisfying that taking care of kids. I don't know, maybe it's just me. ;)

turn 32 later this year, and you can pry my Gaming PC from my cold dead hands...

Since PC gaming is the most demanding thing i do with my computers, all others get upgraded as the gaming PC gets upgraded.

Married, full time job, 3 kids (3, 2, 9 mnths), big house, acre of land to maintain, and i still get in about 1 hr a day. Moustly bf2 now, some GRAW and finally playing quake 4 single player.

was a big WOW player but the post 60 grind was just too much time. 1hr sure.. 3-4 hrs at a time.. not with kids and a happy wife....

The average gamer statistics I heard last was age 32. Gaming is geared for a given audience and most games, the biggest money makers of them all, are geared for adults. Only a handful of gamers are young children.

Do yourself a favor and leave her ass to someone desperate enough to put up with her crap.

Amen to that.. And people who type in caps to show off their aggression are dumb..

This girl has some serious issues and believes the world owes her something. It's okay, we get it, Buttsmacker is just a peach to be with and is so kind and generous.

If you can't control yourself and act with some respectable candor, you will have a tough time in the field of law.

I just.. can't begin to describe how awful she must be from her post. Bitter and cold to the core..

And this has nothing to do with the gaming, but...

**WARNING** - These comments may offend some. I'm offended that you are offended.

One more thing.. Many girls honestly do go completely insane without steady, good sex.. I don't know why, but they lose control of their own actions and emotions. As long as you give your girl a good time, she probably won't care what you do with the rest of the evening. Girls tend to need it much more than most guys do.. And that's fine I guess.

Just no more gaming than a couple hours per night and skip a night when you can. More than that and you need to look in to breaking the habit.

I've got lots of hobbies and now I have a kid and a house. Gaming was one of the ones that has been relegated to "when I have free time" (about 2 hours a month). I still play chess and bike daily but other than that my life revolves around my family now.

I used to play BF2 constantly while in college, now that I have graduated and gotten a job, I game much less frequently, but still do. I play mostly on the weekends and never for more than a few hours a session unless I have some buddies over playing with me. I have replaced my PC with a Mac and haven't looked back, after dealing with Windows all day at work, it's nice to come home and have things just work for a change.

I guess I'm the outlier here, but I'm 21 and play videogames very rarely. I own an X-box, but rarely play during the school year (not enough time), and now that I have time this summer, I just don't want to. I'll play with friends, but then it's not the game that's fun, it's my interaction with others. I probably play about 2-3 hours a week though, because my GF is a huge nerd and tries to get me to play videogames with her.

I don't think that any age is too old for videogames, but I just don't see the attraction anymore.

I'm 27 and I game more now than I did back in my early 20's and late teens :)

Having a job and the money to buy upgrades and games makes it a lot easier!

BTW, I didn't buy my first console until I was 21-22 (although my parents bought me a 1st gen Nintendo back in the day--SMB's rules!)

I'm 21 (your poll sucks, btw) and I play videogames basically as much as I always have. I'll find a game I really like and play it to death for a month or so and then I'll stop playing for a few months. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Thanks

EDIT Added "do not game anymore" to poll
