If you enjoy playing computer games on a regular basis (not like once every 6 months, but regularly) speak up here.

Thanks

EDIT Added "do not game anymore" to poll

The average age of people who play computer games is something like 30+, actually.

i have never been a super hard core gamer, but i gamed a lot more in college and high school.

i suppose if i still had that much time on my hands and no like career aspirations i'd probably play more, but i rarely get a chance to play anyway.

a lot of games well suck now too. its all multiplayer and just pretty 3d crap now, the age of storytelling died so maybe that is contributing to it.

i do hvae an xbox360 and a pretty decent gaming pc, but just still barely use them to game.

One more thing.. Many girls honestly do go completely insane without steady, good sex.. I don't know why, but they lose control of their own actions and emotions. As long as you give your girl a good time, she probably won't care what you do with the rest of the evening. Girls tend to need it much more than most guys do.. And that's fine I guess.

Just no more gaming than a couple hours per night and skip a night when you can. More than that and you need to look in to breaking the habit.

Wow I need to date your girls...

Hey, that's just been my experience.. But maybe we are a different breed here in Montana.. ^_^

Yeah, maybe ewe are ;)

OMG best pun ever!

Yes, but only occasionally. Used to be hours per day and now it's more like hours per week if that. Once I'm married I'll probably ditch the gaming desktop & server for an external hard drive.

This is what p!sses me off:
Men have real passions in life whether it be mechanics, vehicles, sports, computers or gaming, and these passions take time.. we're dedicated and spend much of our lives on these passions, learning as much as we can about them, speaking to others of a similar nature. Women commonly dismiss this as 'boys and their toys', whilst trotting around on their high-horse and considering themselves more mature.

However, women commonly have very few passions, other than shopping and various methods of looking good (massage/gym/sunbeds/all that sh!t). Suddenly, in the evening when the man wants to work on his passion, the woman sits there expecting things to be just like the romantic comedies they've seen in the cinema and have this charming young gentleman constantly pampering them with total disregard for his own happiness (but in their eyes, making the woman happy is all the satisfaction this guy needs in his life).
Along comes real life and boom! smacks them in the face. What? My feller wants to read about technology on the intarweb? He must be some kind of loser! That's right, young lady, men DO stuff. You may be happy sitting around reading about the latest scandal of Britney Spears, but some guys like to relax with games, or brousing the net/ATOT.

I'm thinking this whole thread is a prank, and that our boy the OP has created this second account with the crazy girlfriend act on the go, but if it's not, then I feel kinda sorry for the OP.

As for gaming above 20... well why are many computer games rated at 18? Do you think the market is for one or two years only? Clearly, if you think for 1 minute, you can figure that adults game. Looks at the price of consoles for a start... do you think some 15 year old kid who works one day a week at McDonalds is going to be able to afford a £300 console or even £800+ PC? I think not. If anything, the OP's bitch is simply trying to humiliate the OP into not playing by essentially calling him immature and a baby for playing games. She's wrong and hates it, hence her fractic, tear laced posts into this thread.

OP: tell her to put up or shut up. Clearly she wants to change you and mould you into the person she wants. Don't stand for this. Tell her to fvck off good and proper. I think it's time you both went your separate ways.

OP's woman: want to hook up?

So after reading this thread (and a lot of laughing) here are my thoughts on the matter.

Apparently your gf is under the impression that sex, and an adult relationship should take precedence over computer games. I would agree with her. OP needs to grow up a bit and pay more attention to the real world and get over his oedipus complex. Don't try and find a substitute mother and pretend like you're in a real relationship.

OPs gf is also under the impression that her sh*t doesn't stink and that she is better than everyone else. My advice to her would be to get over whatever crap your daddy pulled on you/your family and figure out why you're in a co-dependant relationship. What makes you have to feel superior to your SO and make more money than him?

You both need to move on with your lives and sort out your issues before you start playing house.

My dad, who is 50, plays almost as many computer games as I do! He is constantly getting upgrades (he is running a 3000+ @ 2.2, 2 gigs of DDR400, and an X800XT), and I still game 6-8 hours a week as well (22). Don't you have any gamer friends you can show her?

Don't listen to the GF! :p

I'm 28 and play Quake, Diablo, Sacred, and Tomb Raider Legend. That's Quake, not 2/3/4, good ol' fashioned Quake.

Damn, you sound like a splitting image of my pussywhipped friend's GF.

1. Thinks she's hot because she has a decent body (however accompanied with mild butterface)
2. Thinks she's smart because she has an undergrad degree and "opinions of her own" which usually are just regurgitated thoughts from somewhere else
3. Dislikes most other women claiming they are shallow, stupid, etc. when the real reason she doesn't like them is because she has no female friends
4. Wears the pants because she is the more fiscally responsible in the relationship - she won't go out for an expensive show for example because she is "saving for retirement" at 27
5. Is a "career woman" which basically amounts to kissing all the right ass
6. Has a serious princess complex coming from being an only child
7. Hates the thought of kids, lacks compassion for other people in general, yet spoils the living hell out of her dog
8. Complains constantly if her boyfriend plays video games

Let me know if any of this sounds familiar. I need to let her know that she might be of your calibre.

I'm 46, married, raising kids 7 to 19 (who all play PC/Console games) and manage to find time to get in some gaming, although much less this time of year with the yard/garden, camping ect.

My kids and family have grown up with multiple PC's/ Gaming Consoles/ tech gadgets in the house, so its no bg deal around here (kinda the default family rated entertainment/stress reliever)

I am 25 and still game. I ended my MMORPG just recently and stick with Multiplayer games or single player modes. Strategies are fun as well.
