My GF ever tried to stop me from gaming...well she would lose out so bad in the "It's me or the Computer" scenario....My PC doesn't nag or annoy me...it just provides endless hours of fun....and pleasure(thank god for the pr0n;) )

Don't take this the wrong way, but your girlfriend is an idiot in that aspect. Seriously. Let me guess, she also tries to convince you that girls don't fart, right?

althought this has no doubt been said in this thread somewhere the average age for video gamers is 24(or 25 depending on survey) which makes you younger than average

Holly "F" I am nearing the last age bracket! I PC game with my boys (ages 5.5, 7 & 10) about four hours a week. I let the five and a half year old look at my screen so he can sneek up behind me in FPS games. My wife and I also game sometimes.

I'm 23 and I still game. More lately since I built my new system. I tend to have phases where I don't play any games for several months, then get back into gaming for several months. I always keep up my other hobbies (gymnastics, working out, playing music, etc.) though. It's unhealthy to just sit at the computer playing games ALL the time. You've gotta get some physical activity and social interaction in there. Buttsmacker, if you live near Michigan I'd be glad to help you out with some socially interactive physical activity. ;) It sounds like you need it.

I don't play regularly because of all the immaturity in FPS's. Although I do have a copperhead and func 1030 archetype that's still pretty handy.

I am in my 30s and I still play games <PC/consoles> whenever I can or feel like it.

As long as you don't spend all your time in front of the computer and neglect everything/everyone elsei in your life, then nothing is wrong with a little fun.

<<<----- love to buy good games on the cheap/clearance <less than $10>

I've given up on them, although Oblivion keeps trying to suck me back in. Really, Morrowind and Dungeon Siege have been the only games I've played since coming to college. Now I just waste all my time browsing AT all the time.... :(

I've been gaming ever since I first tried Adventure on a CP/M machine.

I'm 38 and I play daily. I carry my DS and PSP in my backpack in case it gets too boring at work. ;)

I'm almost 22 and I game. Not lately cause of no time/illness..but I do love me a good game. Last game I really got into was WoW..and now i'm just sticking with my DS and my Gamecube (mario ddr is fuunnn).

I don't think it's bad to be 21+ and still play games.....as long as you're not so addicted to it where you plan your days according to what raid is going on and what items you MUST have. That's where it gets a little.....sad.

Like everything, it's a matter of balance. If you're 25 and all you do is play games then you likely have a problem, but that's little different from anything else.

I'm 26, and according to your poll I don't game regularly; however, sometimes I find a game that I really enjoy and I'll play 0.5hrs or so daily for a few weeks (e.g. Battlefield 2) before I lose interest or simply can't dedicate time.

im 27 and stil play a few games

Usually i like RPGs simply because i like a good story (mostly due to my old PnP days), other than that I play my DS at work or while commuting. I am considering switching to consoles, as they are really catching up to computers as far as tech and multiplayer support are concerned, but like many others i have to balence life with my gaming hobby so its not like the late-night Baldur's Gate 2 benders I was pulling in college are going to be back anytime soon (although the weekends are times when i do choose to splurge on occasion with gaming).

OP plain and simple your GF is an idiot.
Why do you think that Advertisers are doing ANYTHING to get their products into games now adays? The 20-35 yr market is the most sought after in advertising. And also the largest decline of TV viewership. Where did those 20-35yr old males go? The internet and video games. There have been COUNTLESS news articles in newspapers, magazines, TV shows etc explaning this "problem".... please wake up and smell the coffee.

I'm 35 and generally play games for an hour or so each night. I would rather do that than watch television.

If you enjoy playing computer games on a regular basis (not like once every 6 months, but regularly) speak up here.

Thanks

EDIT Added "do not game anymore" to poll

whattt. 21-25 year olds make up a big percentage of the gamers... tell your gf to play pac man and geometry ways on the 360. if she finds those games boring, she needs to be beat with a shovel!

I've met a lot of girls who think that video games are only for little kids. I don't really play that often any more (maybe like 1 or 2 hours a month) but I've never understood why some people think you should stop when you turn 18.

Women typically don't play games so they don't really know much about the gaming community. She's just ignorant.

I'm in a BF2 clan that is about 50/50 people under and above 21. There's a bunch of guys in their 40's. Most of them are former armed forces.

I'm 28 and still game quite regularly. I play WoW usually a few hours a night. I get home about 6:30, play with my daughter until she goes to bed, hang out with the wife until she goes to bed, then play WoW until midnight or so. However, during the weekends i play maybe an hour a day, and there are some weeknights i don't play at all.

My wife and i both took vacation the week of memorial day, and over the course of 9 days off I think I played WoW for a total of 6 hours. I guess during the week when working I play games to pass waking hours as quickly as possible so I can get to the good stuff, like playing with my daughter and hanging out with wife/friends/family

I hate to agree with a Monkey but this is generally my schedule too (with wife and kids).
As of lately though I've not played nearly as much as I have in the past. Games simply suck nowadays and with the summer months I have better things to do at night... like sit on my deck and waste time doing nothing.
