You said "voting is a waste of time".

so how do you get i don't have time to register from that?

You had also said you were "too busy with your 40-hour work week."
:violin;

i never said that either. funny how people are putting words in my mouth to make agruments

hmmm, lazy. lets see, i have a 40 hour per week job and do not collect welfare or anything else for free. yeah i am lazy

OK, so you mentioned this as proof that you aren't "lazy." fair enough

The implication is there, though. So, if you aren't lazy, as is 98% of the remaining workforce with their 40 hour work week, what does keep you "too busy to vote?"

Don't get me wrong--I'm not so much criticizing your decision not to vote, just your thin excuses. ;)

to me it is not thin, it is little more personal than that. at the time i was living with abusive father and needed an out. had to find another way out from him. so that is why it is personal and my lack of voting

OK. so the only way to get away from an abusive father was the military. the military rejects you....so now the Gov't is to blame for you remaining with abusive father? you're not voting is a big EF YOU! to the country for ruining you life?

other then the possibility of some 1/2 white dude winning there really isnt anything abnormally special or important about this election

No, actually, he's right. The ONLY thing really different about this election is the fact that Obama is half Black. The FIRST African-American to be elected president...and he's only half Black...I guess it's a good first step.

Otherwise, we go through the same bullshit every 4 years where "MY candidate is better than YOUR candidate, and if you disagree, you hate America."

Technically he?s NOT even African-American; he was born in the USA making him plain old American. If he were an African-American he would have had to emigrate from Africa and then apply for and be granted US citizenship which if that was the case he would be ineligible for the POTUSA anyway for not being a natural born citizen.

heh-heh...yeah, I can't argue that point...but try to convince the millions of people in the country who have heritage from elsewhere that their "hyphenated nationality" is invalid...:D
Personally, I believe that you are either an American...or you're not. You may be an American of Hispanic origins, or of Asian origins, or even of African origns, but AMERICAN is the part that really matters.

Of course, I also think that America should require people to choose which nation they are citizens of...none of this "dual-citizenship" bullshit...

i have to agree. there will be no change. it will be Washington politics as usual.

everyone is so down on Palin, but you all should investigate what she has really done for the state of Alaska. she went against the good ole boys and the same ole same ole. something that neither Presidential candidate is going to ever do.

Based on both candidate's having very different economic/health care policies than the current one, there's going to be a lot of change.

Well, we will just have to agree to disagree. Whoever gets voted in better do better than the POS idiot that is currently in office.

of course, in order to not destroy her "story of Sarah" image, she went used a lot of the "good 'ol boys" and "same 'ol same 'ol" to get where she is.

She openly courted the far right base into the Governor's mansion, including prominent senators and a bevy of right-wing Journalists (William Kristol a HUGE fan for some time) from 2006 and on.

Of course, talking about it would wreck that "outsider" appeal. ...Kind of like how W claimed he was an outsider in 2004. ROFL.

Ah, so now it's Obama's fault that Chicago is still as corrupt as it ever was. You've got a lot to learn about that most political of American cities.

claiming that Palin is as qualified as Obama is beyond the pale.

Gee, I wonder who NJ is voting for this year?

I'll still vote considering I dont like neither one. If only McCain supported a quicker exit strategy out of Iraq.

Neither side can argue morality. This is politics. Hell this is life. Truly honest people are few and far between. Truly honest politicians can probably be counted on one hand, and I don't even know who they are. :p
