No local issues that need to be voted on?

Nothing that's even remotely interesting and nothing that will be close. If I stand in line the only thing I'd accomplish is to piss away an hour of my life.

I don't understand why you guys don't want to vote. I can understand not caring about the prez or anyone else, but at least the issues are important. In michigan we are voting on Stem cell research and medical marijuana.

In Connecticut we're voting on whether 17 year olds can vote in primaries and whether the state should hold a constitutional convention. I hope I'm never bored enough to care about anything that trivial.

Not voting this time, I moved from TX to NY and haven't updated my license and voter registration yet. Not that either of the big 2 deserve my vote...

Wow, that was some move. That's like moving to another country, sheese. Good luck with that, the steers, queers and bush here will miss you. :(
Yeah, the culture shock is still nagging at me and we've been here for 2 months. But we're out in the country still so many things should remain the same for us. Time shall tell.

weather shock will be worse, however IIRC you once knew snow. GG snowbelt

Your state/county doesn't have any referendums or bonds on the ballot?

I refuse to vote this election. I think they're both terrible candidates and I couldn't in good conscience vote for either of them. I'm not going the lesser of two evils voting route this time around. I did that last election and have been kicking myself for 4 years.

There are more than two candidates, noob.

But there aren't more than two viable candidates, noob.

Yep, I've lived up here before. I don't look forward to a long cold winter, but I'll survive.

I just moved to Idaho and am no longer registered. I did just find out that with a photo id and proof of current Idaho residence I could register on voting day, but I spent last night puking bile so I'm not going out in the rain today to wait in line.

If McCain goes down by one vote I will feel guilty, but, at the same time I don't think the country will be that much different in five years regardless of who we elect.

Yes, I'm a bit apathetic and many will say attitudes like mine are what is ruining this country. IMHO, idiots who vote for a rockstar because they want some magical, unspecified change, or to prove they are not racist, or to ensure more of the nations wealth is spread in their direction are what is ruining this country.

Idunno, should this be in P&N?

Well...I received an email yesterday at 5:30pm telling me that I would need to print and vote on the "Sample Ballot" online and overnight it to california before 8pm today. Well...I didn't read the email until 6:30pm, and all overnight deliveries stop at 7pm. I discovered all this after I sat down and filled out my ballot. My ballot ended up in the trash.

I'm actually quite upset that I can't vote.

I tried.

I am voting in about an hour. My company is letting us take "as long as we need" to vote. No docked pay either. :)

I'd argue that people that don't vote do more good for our country than the millions that vote for the "lesser" of two evils.

seriously? awww dammit, that definitely beat's Ohio's two best issues to vote for: one to allow a single casino to be built, and one to take a stab at pay-day cash advances (curbing interest from currently 390% to 28%).

I wonder though, how do they plan on doing stem cell research? Non-embryo or something? What with the whole Federal ban on using embryos, or was it only allowing use on already established embryonic stem cell lines and banning the creation of more? hmm

Hope Michigan passes those two issues!

So, the lessor of 2 evils is less preferable than the greater of 2 evils getting in office?

That makes absolutely no f-ing sense what so ever. So please, I beg you, don't vote. Thanks! :p
