Anyone know any REALISTIC sport anime? I don't want to see super siayan mode when they about to score etc etc I want to see something not over the top if you know what I mean. Hence why I havenever actually seen a Sport Anime ever.

I'd say that most of them have a realistic tone. Albeit, the main character is usually "special" in some way. The ones that don't usually have anything special at all about their characters tend to be dramas with a sports "flavor" more so than tried-and-true sports anime. I mentioned Cross Game above, which is a good example of that, but the same author has multiple series that are far more drama focused. I mentioned Major above, and it's a bit more sports focused, but the main character isn't really special in any way apart from skill. Although, the main character does come across as a bit of an ass at times. :\ Oh, and fair warning... both Cross Game and Major will give you a good ol' gut punch early on in the series.... Keep your tissues handy! :'(

Haiyku!! is the volleyball anime. :p I've heard of the cycling anime that you're talking about, but I've never watched it. Haiyku!! and Kuroko no Baske are similar in their tone, but I prefer Haiyku!! over Kuroko. The reason is that I like the characters in Haikyu!! as they have a fun/silly dynamic where Kuroko just felt really serious. So, check out Haikyu!! The only downside is that the second season is airing now, so the story isn't complete.

If you want something that's long and done, you could always check out the baseball anime that I mentioned, Major. There are about 5 different seasons of the show totaling around 140 episodes and an OVA to complete the show. By the way, Baby Steps is a better choice than Prince of Tennis for a tennis anime.

Watching Overlord atm. It's interesting, but very slow paced. At episode 9 atm and it seems like it will take a good 52 episodes for the whole show to finish at the rate it's going.

I didn't like the 1st couple of episodes of Major. The animation reminds me of Bad Teacher Anizuka :colbert:

I sure hope that isn't a smack on Great Teacher Onizuka!? Even if you don't like the series, you gotta love the openings (L'arc~en~Ciel's Driver's High and Porno Graffiti's Hitori no Yoru)!! Although, if you prefer more pervy stories, the prequel to GTO, Shounan Junai Gumi, is a fun one. The only downside is that it's kind of hard to find since it's just an older OVA.

Anyway, Major is a little bit older, so the animation may resemble that. However, I'd say to go up to episode five for some good story! Anyway, I'm up to around 10 or 11 in Haiyku!!, and you'll definitely prefer the newer animation.

Watched Mobile Suit Gundam from start to finish. I had nearly seen all of it years ago, but Cartoon network cancelled it abruptly because of 9/11 only a few episodes away from finishing. They never aired the show since. It was pretty solid. Now I want to watch Z Gundam but I can't find it any where...

ends at 13...

The season does. It's clearly meant to continue from a story perspective. Basically nothing is resolved.

MSG 79 and zeta havent really aged all that well. they were available on crunchyroll a couple of years back but it looks like bandai ended that contract.

you arent missing much.

i watched the condensed 0079 movies and the first 5 or 6 ep of zeta. they are unwatchable by modern tv storytelling sensibilities. the pacing is way too slow, the characters and dialogue(sub with original japanese audio) are just jarring as far as progress and development go(non sequiturs all over the place). the shows were revolutionary in their day, but they really make no narrative sense and the things they choose to show/animate are just boggling. [it is like watching an early 70's US tv drama just way too much emphasis on all the wrong things.]

I think I'm gonna put Sport ANime on hold. I can't get into it. I find it boring? I don't know the right word but sport Anime is always my not liked genre :)

Ugh, I don't know how you can even stand to watch the One Piece anime. It's soooo ridiculously slow. I'd usually check out the Marineford episodes, because of some of the cool things that happened there, and my god... it's almost as bad as Dragon Ball Z. Although, this (from episode 488, chapter 579) is probably one of my favorite scenes in the whole series.

Slow? I 100% agree. That is why I always fast forward at the start. I always start around 7-8 minute mark, because the first 1-8 mins are recaps. Oh and I skipped 110%of all Ussop scenes because he is the most anoyying character in Anime history and I can't stand him. I can't stand that guy... Oh and I fast forward to all filler characters when they speak and whatnot. So it's all good :)

I really can't see Coby being a general anytime soon. Maybe in episode 2000 lol.

what do you mean?

For the anniversary they made three movies of Z Gundam that are a super consolidated version of the 50 episode series. Popular opinion is that they aren't as good as watching the whole series, which is a downer as kiss anime only has the 3 films. Not the 50 episode series. Still trying to find a way to watch the series.
