why? Because he isn't sad because some drugged out, piece of crap gansta rapper thug was killed?

I have no sympathy at all, as do most people.

where does it say he was drugged out?

Honestly, sometimes I am still shocked by ATOT's ridiculous callousness...
Dude, its a safe bet he was addicted to something.

as for callousness; people who live the gangsta rap lifestyle usually have bad things happen to them.

Ummm, no. It's not a safe bet. I went a school with a lot of dudes that looked like this guy and most of them were not addicted to anything. What makes it a safe bet? The backward hat and tattoo? Seriously dude, a lot of inner city youth look like this.

Not a safe bet?
You are aware that he rapped about carrying guns, doing drugs, committing crimes, and other gang activities right?

I bet most (at least some) of ATOT has done drugs...doesn't mean we are drugged out. As for the other topics, I don't see how it relates to being drugged out...

Its funny how close minded you are.....not everyone has the same opportunities. Many people grow up in shitholes that you will never experience. They have to do what they have to do to get ahead. Its far from an excuse and I'm not defending them as most of them do choose to continue their lifestyles even when afforded an opportunity to escape them.

He might have been scum, but your comments make you look like a buffoon.....and you're probably not any better then him. Its easy to judge people from behind a computer.......

Clearly you haven't meet most of ATOT:

1) everyone has advanced degrees
2) everyone makes over 100k a year
3) everyone has model kids. They are taught classical music at the age of 4. Anything rap related in shunned.

But seriously PimpJuice, although I agree with you 100%, it's falling on deaf ears.

I don't have an advanced degree, make over 100k per year or have model kids.

I also don't have gangster tattoos and I don't praise the rap/thug/gangster lifestyle. I don't sing about women as if they're just vaginas and I don't call my friends 'niggaz'. I don't carry a chip on my shoulder everywhere I go to show how hard I am.

I also don't live in the hood, because I've worked my entire life to have my nice little life.

Pimpjuice points out one really good thing: not everyone has the same opportunities. However, it's what you DO with your opportunities that defines who you are. When you choose to "get ahead" by being a thug - robbing, dealing, whatever - then you're perpetuating the shithole, condemning the next generation to grow up the same way.

Instead, have a little pride in yourself. Help clean up your neighborhood, stay in school and learn something. Avoid the gangs. It's not easy, but neither is giving in - and giving in has a far higher price.

As for shunning rap - I actually like the flavor of the music, but the culture that surrounds the uglier end of it, I can do without. Not all rap is created equal, and not all of it's offensive. What I've now seen of his is useless.

I said those things tongue in cheek. But I guess making use of opportunities is subjective. Many people, including this guy I imagine, actually WANT to be rappers. To get signed to a major record deal is kind of a big deal. In that sense, I am not ready to jump to the conclusion that he didn't work hard or didn't make use of his opportunities.

I'm not sure how many people can actually chime in with real life experiences about growing up in poverty in the hood. I think it's difficult to evaluate the totality of the circumstances without that perspective.

With all due respect, this guy seems like just another no-talent gangsta rapper mowed down due to his stupid lifestyle choices. His music is awful and glorifies the same kind of random street violence that led to his death. Are we supposed to be sad about this?

Go check out his lyrics.

If this guy is a complete fraud and what he raps about is BS, then I feel bad that he is an idiot. From what I am reading, he is a criminal and does what he raps about.

I know a number of people who grew up in serious poverty but didn't become thugs. They went the harder course and stayed in school to better themselves and their family. Becoming a thug is the lazy road in life that eventually leads only to one place.

1. This guy was a rapper, and signed to a label. Very competitive industry and difficult to break into, so I doubt he was lazy.

2. Everyone who dresses like that is not a "thug." It's just how some people dress/look in some parts of town.
I wasn't talking about Dolla.

I was just responding to Pimpjuice's post in a generalized manner.

your second point is unnecessary as I have been aware of that since I was a kid.

It's funny how old people are always so square, regardless of the generation. Remember when music was full of drug addicts, hippies, satanists, and other miscreants, and how our future generations were all doomed? Yeah, we all did fine after all..

Yeah, it is exactly the same since aids was intentionally created.
