I'm really looking forward to all of the people who bashed the polycarbonate SGS3 and SGS4 as being cheap defending the polycarbonate 5C. Especially when the 5C is priced higher than the glass Nexus 4.

I've always said this. Maybe San Francisco is just the wrong model because I see plenty of iPhones and iPads and Macbooks. It's probably part of the hipster culture and the techie young crowd here. I know jpeyton is saying this is for Q2 sales, but even those total marketshare #s we've been seeing thrown around doesn't really get reflected in SF.

I remember discussing last summer how I was at a Starbucks, and on the 5 window stool seats, there were a combined 3 Macbooks, 2 iPads and 4 iPhones. I was the only guy with the Android phone, though I had a MacBook to fit in. Heh.

Hipsters would obviously sway things in favr of Apple.

Around here (Midwest) someone under 40 buying a new iPhone is an anomaly. Of the 10 software developers I work with only two have iPhones, and one of those is still on a 3GS. Everyone else has a modern HTC or Samsung phone.

What's this, you see a lot of iPhones in there area where Apple is headquartered? Would it be crazy to see a lot of Windows Phones in the area Microsoft is headquartered too?

It's surprising to me how many people who work retail have expensive smartphones.
 
All I see is androids in my neck of the woods and we only have 2 iPhone 5s at work and the rest on Samsung's

They get pretty jelly when we transfer music around like the new jz album we all got for free

I used to get into 30 minute arguments with this one co worker that was the biggest apple fan boy and now he is 10x worse fanboy with his note 2

I think that's a dumb statement to make. Apple doesn't pay anymore attention marketing to the Bay Area than it does in any other metro area. And contrary to popular belief here, not everyone in the Bay Area work at Apple - most don't.

And the hipster talk? Please, this is like any other city. There are a lot of crazy people here but it's not anymore than other cities.

I work in a software company and most of the engineers also use iPhones. There are about 30 engineers at my company. I work with all of them since I'm a product manager.

There are 2 windows phones among the 30 engineers and maybe 10 Android phones. The rest are iPhones.

This forum hates Apple, I get it. But you're telling me in Q2, MS sold 1 Windows phone for every 3.5 iPhones? No freaking way.

Techie young crowds should be drawn to Android? Since they are techies. I think you just mean younger crowds. Also, don't forget that Apple targets older people too with their simplicity message.
 
For anyone interested, I just looked at the different mobile devices that visited my company's website in the last month. We have 3 million unique visitors/month.

iPhones visit our site 37,000x more than Windows Phones. I know iPhones have a much larger install base and this isn't oranges to oranges.

iOS is roughly half of our mobile visits. Android is the other half. Windows almost non-existent.

I'd also like to add iv been to Starbucks once and felt totally out of place. that place is exactly how the bay area is and is filled with apple geeks playing board games

I'm sorry but its the simple truth,you won't see any android user spending 3 hours in a coffee shop lol

I frequently spend 2hrs in a coffeshop writing an Android app on a massive Dell laptop and testing it on the Nexus 4 plugged into its usb port :whiste:

Wow, talk about missing the point - how about paying attention to the message about where innovation.

Using simple language for your benefit - frosted glass effects are the sign of a stagnant OS, hence his move to android.

congrats your are the first non apple hipster that takes 15 min to special order his coffee.

you do get the point tho right? its like a kind of click/cult thing and 99% of the kids that go there are a perfect example of an apple isheep and would spend days in lines waiting for the next ios device
 
I went to the Verizon store last night and played with a windows phone. Honestly, after playing with it for 20 mins I will probably get one when my 2 year contract runs out on this S3. The interface was surprisingly good for a phone. I didnt think it would be that enjoyable of an experience considering Win8 on the desktop.
