You can argue that some of these posts aren't specific bashes on apple, but his agenda is clear for all to see. I doubt even he would deny how anti-apple he is. The evidence is clear. Why does he feel the need to post Apples quarterly results? Oh yeah, he only posts them when he can turn it into a negative slant.

I don't really understand why anyone finds this surprising. Apple performs well in a few markets, but their presence in emerging markets is almost nonexistent. Google has been catering to those markets since the beginning, and Microsoft is pushing them even harder than Google now. As it stands, Apple has nothing that can compete with the Lumia 520 or Optimus L9 when it comes to price/performance.

This doesn't have any bearing on how many iPhones you see in public in America.

It's like the same guys always parading about marketshare. And that was my point from the beginning. It's fine to talk about marketshare, but we have posts like these every month or something because there's 10 different firms like IDC, comscore, etc. always looking at marketshare. If it weren't for Android's gains at iOS' losses, these guys wouldn't have ever posted these.

I don't know about those two members, but I prefer to give more weight to the opinions of users who can acknowledge the strengths of other platforms and the weaknesses of their own. It's okay to be biased if you are up front about it.

I don't see Android capturing 80% of the smartphone market as a bad thing for Apple or this as an Apple bash.

Apple is selling more and more iPhones, their quarterly report mentioned stronger than expected iPhone sales recently.

All this crazy Android growth isn't at the top, it's at the bottom. Android is replacing low end feature phones.

WTF? I may be critical about Android, but I'm not always trying to beat down Apple. I have a Nexus 4 as my personal phone and I plan on buying the next Nexus assuming it doesn't suck balls. OTherwise I may buy a GS4 GPe. In no way am I trying to prop Apple up.

You're right, I didn't offer anything valuable in this thread because this is like the 128975th thread about marketshare and its posted by our resident Anti-Apple news crew. It comes to a point when you run out of things to talk about in these marketshare threads because its pretty obvious the OP is just trying to bash Apple and glorify Android. Maybe if we had one of these every 6 months or so only then sure.

I've never understood that logic. If the OP of a thread is pure flamebait then the thread should be locked regardless of how others post in it, if the behavior of others rather than the OP trashes the thread then surely its those members that should get infracted?

I'm pretty sure that's not even a Pro Apple post at all. I think for most posters this would be neutral at best because its reporting on Apple. Of course knowing jpeyton, I'm sure he's not the greatest fan of 80-90% margins and charging $100 for a 16gb upgrade. I doubt you can get him to agree that its justifiable for the 32gb iPad to be $600. In that case, I'd really just lump this in with the rest of the Anti Apple posts.

*Microsoft has their highest percentage share in 3 years at 3.9%

*Apple's share is down 3 points to 13.6%

*"Other" platforms (Symbian, Blackberry, etc.) are being squeezed out of existence, down 7 points

Microsoft at 3.9% and Apple only at 13.6%? I highly doubt this report. In San Francicso, I see about 30-50 iPhones before I see 1 Microsoft phone. Maybe San Francisco isn't the perfect model but I still don't believe it.

This is a quarterly report, not lifetime units sold.
