After the butchering Jayden did with The Karate Kid remake, I would not going to see this movie or any movie with him as the main character.

And the previews/ads/trailers for this movie did not help either. Love the concept of the movie but the cast..meh.

I knew it would suck. The trailer showed how bad the CGI was right off the bat

Good thing Roger Ebert is already dead if he would have saw this movie it would have killed him.

I think he loved reviewing bad movies. I'm actually picturing him begging "Oh come on....just 20 more minutes! I mean...LOOK HOW BAD IT IS!"

I wonder if this is in someway a sequel to "The Happening", M. Night's ABSOLUTE worst movie ever.

In The Happening
the planet or mother nature or whatever kills off everyone as a warning that humans have become a threat. Maybe the earth kills off everyone, evolves everything (plants, animals, wildlife, etc) over the course of a thousand years, and now we're at the After Earth plot.
.

Ok, sorry, but everyone should see The Happening. The acting is so hilarious it needs to be seen to be believed. But just once, more than one viewing I'm sure would turn you into a vegetable, a carrot or a rutabaga to be precise.

The Mark Wahlberg cough Syrup scene was arguably the greatest line + delivery in all of motion picture cinema.

I actually enjoyed, at least somewhat, all of M. Night's movies until I saw the Happening. I loved Six Sense and Unbreakable. I enjoyed Signs. I liked the Village even though I figured out the twist early and I even thought Lady in the Water was ok. I saw the Happening, and basically thought "I'm done, no more defending his movies anymore." I wanted him to be the next Hitchcock but his movies seem to get sloppier and sloppier until I finally gave up.

While watching the movie I honestly sat there wondering what exactly the parody/satire was supposed to be.. because Wahlberg and Leguizamo do not generally act like they did in The Happening. Zooey Daschanel was her typical terrible (imo) self, but it seemed to me that the two males were "directed" to act that way. Why? I still have absolutely no idea. I guess M Night's terrible direction?

It has taken me 13 years to get over the travesty that was Battlefield Earth. I can't go through that again. It was so horrible. I'm not watching this movie if it's being compared to that monstrosity.

What movie is that? Is that some kind of dubbed dialogue or was it really that bad?

Which one of you asshats is paying to see these movies?! If everyone just stops paying these fools they'll stop making them.

i don't mind bad movies. long as it has an original story. hell i think its better then 6th installment of fast and furious or such. or a 3rd remake of a movie.

I'm all for blind stupid entertainment. I watched that Jack and Beanstalk movie last night and it's not by any stretch of the imagination a great movie. However when you look at a movie like Battlefield Earth it's not just bad - it's so bad it invokes a violent reaction in me. I just want to hit something.

Lady in the Water is worse than The Happening, in my opinion.

Lady in the Water < The Last Airbender < Devil < The Happening < Signs < Unbreakable < The Village < The Sixth Sense

Did I miss one?

Lady in the Water is worse than The Last Airbender? Man he's really gone down hill since the Sixth Sense.

The movie sounds like one of those "hook up my talentless kid up" type flicks. His kid has no acting chops, so I guess he figured that by putting him in this movie with him also being on board might kick start his career.

All it it did was pretty much show Hollywood and the world that sometimes you just cannot squeeze water out of a rock.

I might watch this when it's a $5 BR. Not a fan of M. Night's films at all, but I like most of Will's movies.
