The movie was definitely on the fun than the cerebral side. I suggest you go see it. I don't think you'd be disappointed. That's good to hear. I was hoping that the movie would try to be more fun than cerebral sort of like The Italian Job, but it sounds like it doesn't aim for that.
What scifi movies came out this year? I know there was Oblivion. What else so far?
It actually doesn't have user ratings on the normal site yet, the mobile version he linked to is displaying it wrong.Worth nothing. There shouldn't be user ratings for a movie that isn't released yet. It's just a bunch of Will Smith fans with PE getting excited at this point.
Yeah. BE I watched because it was so reviled I figured it might be entertaining for how bad it was, but it wasn't, it was just bad.Anything that gets compared to Battlefield Earth definitely has some issues.

will and jayden are good together.
i liked them in The Pursuit of Happyness.
I Am Legend sucked.
Honestly, I stopped taking professional reviewers seriously. Every professional review I see always has something vapid and high brow to say, like they're just reaching for viewership. User reviews, while.... interesting at times, are where it's at, because at least those are honest.
Kinda-sorta sci-fi:
Iron Man
Star Trek: Into Darkness
(but not really sci-fi)
You're the second person in this thread that said Star Trek wasn't sci-fi. Out of curiosity, why do some of you feel this way?
I think the gist is that the new ST movies are more like action science fantasy than sci-fi. I think it's basically whether the essence of the movie is the science, or the action. Same reason why Star Wars is more of a space fantasy than a sci-fi series. True sci-fi is more like ST:TNG. I'm not sure I entirely agree with this, but I get the gist.
Hah! From the thread title, I thought it got negative 13%. I was like [Keanu] woah [/Keanu]...how does that even happen?!
Oh shit - it isn't even the score keeping me from this one, at this point.
I was so interested in this movie, simply because of the concept and cast.
But I had gone all this time without realizing WHO is responsible for the movie: M. Night.
= hell no.
I wonder if this is in someway a sequel to "The Happening", M. Night's ABSOLUTE worst movie ever.
In The Happening.the planet or mother nature or whatever kills off everyone as a warning that humans have become a threat. Maybe the earth kills off everyone, evolves everything (plants, animals, wildlife, etc) over the course of a thousand years, and now we're at the After Earth plot.
