That's good to hear. I was hoping that the movie would try to be more fun than cerebral sort of like The Italian Job, but it sounds like it doesn't aim for that.
The movie was definitely on the fun than the cerebral side. I suggest you go see it. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Is there some scientology line with this movie? Or did Smith possibly just do the movie give his kid a boost? So awkward to watch them push their children into show business.

I was pretty dumbfounded when I saw the trailer for this a week or two ago. Knew nothing about it. Saw Will Smith in what, just be the trailer, was obviously a terrible movie. Then I saw his kid and said 'oh, okay, makes sense now.' Still seems like a new low, though.

He's a good actor (Will Smith, that is). It's a shame to see him appearing in something that is quite obviously outclassed by a Fast and Furious movie. The sixth fucking one, at that.

Also, I had thought M Night Shamalaansdujwhbrujwenjfoneqr was officially done by now. Who would bankroll that dumbshit? He's Slumdog Uwe Boll.

I saw the previews which looked just awful, so I'm not at all surprised the reviews are this bad.

I have no interest at all in watching this movie.

Anything that gets compared to Battlefield Earth definitely has some issues.
Yeah. BE I watched because it was so reviled I figured it might be entertaining for how bad it was, but it wasn't, it was just bad.

12% from this movie, I'll never watch it not even for free.

Honestly, I stopped taking professional reviewers seriously. Every professional review I see always has something vapid and high brow to say, like they're just reaching for viewership. User reviews, while.... interesting at times, are where it's at, because at least those are honest.

If you think pro movie reviewers on were bad you should see the gaming ones a.k.a "look at how much I enjoy sucking the cock of EA etc"

I enjoy most Will Smith movies, but this looked absolutely god awful from the trailers. Looks like suspicions confirmed. Will Smith should go back to trying to make good movies, and not trying to get his son a career. M Night hasn't made a decent movie in how long? So much fail. Giving Jaden Smith the lead in a movie with this much solo screen time? Yeah.. that's a great idea.

This movie will only prove a great actor like Will Smith doesn’t make up for a bad script and poor directing.

You're the second person in this thread that said Star Trek wasn't sci-fi. Out of curiosity, why do some of you feel this way?

I think the gist is that the new ST movies are more like action science fantasy than sci-fi. I think it's basically whether the essence of the movie is the science, or the action. Same reason why Star Wars is more of a space fantasy than a sci-fi series. True sci-fi is more like ST:TNG. I'm not sure I entirely agree with this, but I get the gist.

I'm tracking now, that makes sense.

Oh shit - it isn't even the score keeping me from this one, at this point.

I was so interested in this movie, simply because of the concept and cast.

But I had gone all this time without realizing WHO is responsible for the movie: M. Night.
= hell no.

OOOOOHHHH SSHHHIIITTT!!!!

i had no CLUE it was m night that made this movie. YOU are now the reason that i will never watch it. thank you for saving 2 hours of my life!

I wonder if this is in someway a sequel to "The Happening", M. Night's ABSOLUTE worst movie ever.

In The Happening
the planet or mother nature or whatever kills off everyone as a warning that humans have become a threat. Maybe the earth kills off everyone, evolves everything (plants, animals, wildlife, etc) over the course of a thousand years, and now we're at the After Earth plot.
.

you are giving m night shit-a-man too much credit. i think he is trying to make a movie shittier than the happening, which is pretty damn difficult to do.
