1. Its my understanding that the current populations of Pakistan is some 170 million people.
At 97% Muslim, that computes to about 165 million max.

2. If 20% of the population of India are Muslim, that means a 1.2 Billion population of India has some 240 million Muslims.

Get your facts right, unless you want to dispute the 20% figure.

But when I checked that figure today in google, it is in fact a highly disputed figure. The official figure may be 12%, others put the figure at about 16%, and others range up to 30%.

So TGB wins his bet if the Muslim population if India is less than 13.75%.

Actually Hindus (or perhaps proto-Hindus) were quite likely the originators of civilization, not to mention many of the sciences. There's evidence for instance that the Greeks, whom we credit for developing the astrology/astronomy practiced by the Western world, actually lifted that knowledge from earlier civilizations, probably the Indus Valley civilizations. (Although granted, it might have been from Libyan or other African civilizations as well, or even from Mesopotamian civilizations.) And if memory serves, it was an Indian astronomer who developed the concept of zero as a practical concept for all mathematics, even though a Greek astronomer invented the notation and the Muslims reintroduced it to the west. That is probably the single most important advance in mathematics ever. I'm not a huge fan of Hindu religion myself, but to say they have contributed nothing is a bit much.
