You can't acknowledge the U.S. slavory issue and ignore the other races in history who have been enslaved. The U.S. was no different (better or worse) than the others. The U.S. slavory issue has only been made worse by ignorant blacks who think society still owes them something. :|

My grandmother told me that her grandparents owned slaves. She said that they became like a part of the family and after slavery was ended they continued living with them by choice. They left for awhile but came back.
I know that it doesn't make it right, and slavery was a horrible thing, but sometimes (albeit rarely), the slaves were treated with at least some amount of dignity.

I believe it is way worse to have to live your life as a slave than to be killed for being a Jew. At least you're dead, which I would prefer from being a slave. Plus, when talking quantity, slavery wins hands down.
You don't really know your history.
According to black scholar Thomas Sowell there were over 25 million black slaves shipped to other lands. There were an estimated 11 million shipped to the Western Hemisphere, another 14 million shipped to the Persian Gulf and beyond. Of those 25 million an estimated 700,000 made it to the United States. That's less than 3% of all the slave trade!
Slavery was a legal trade in the US government from 1776 to 1865, less than 100 years. The Civil War happened in part to end slavery. Over 500,000 white soldiers died to end slavery.
Slavery existed for a thousand years before whites got in the trade yet it was whites from Britain and the United States that effectively put an end to the world wide slave trade. What, your history books don't tell you that? They should!

there is more prejudice today against blacks than jews. while the purpose of the holocaust was to eliminate a human race, blacks were not even considered human for most of the american history.
Maybe slavery doesn't seem as bad because there are less records of atrocities. But I don't think it's less worse - being enslaved by your own race, shipped here in disease-infested boats, and being enslaved for 350 years, which I guess amounts to about 7 generations of families that lived and died under slavery. Then the next 100 years being treated like second-class citizens.
BTW, saying that other cultures enslaved people doesn't make it any more justifiable. In fact I think that argument is rather irrelevant.

From the link above, there were 3,953,760 black slaves in 1860. 6+ million Jews were enslaved, tortured, and killed by Germany under Nazi rule.
Now I'm not saying that slavery wasn't bad. I'm also not saying that those who survived and endured slavery weren't strong people. Don't get me wrong. However, numerically more Jews died in the holocaust. If slaves wanted to die, they could kill themselves. I really don't know how you can wrap your brain around a decision like slavery vs. a suffering death. I certainly can't.
Black Americans are the richest blacks in the entire world. Their ancestors suffered but they have been able to reap the benefits of that suffering.
Blacks today only suffer because race hustlers have taught them mental anguish. That's what makes Jesse Jackson rich, keeping blacks angry and distrustful, making whites feel guilty. White guilt is pervasive even though less than 10% of the antebellum south ever owned slaves.

Heres some facts, the first slave to step in to what now is America was in 1609, when the British started to heavily exploit slavery. In 1790 the US had 500,000 slaves, in 1810 the US had 1.1million slaves, in 1860 the US had 3.9million slaves.
In 1833 Canada, under British control, released their final 783,000 slaves. They had many more that gradually were freed starting in the 1800s. Brazil had slaves until 1888. Hell the first internation slave treaty was in 1885 with a second coming in 1890.
People really need to buy a clue. The US may have been the last modern country to abolish slavery, but it no where wreck massive havoc like Britain, France, Spain and Portegual did.
Anyone want to fvcking mention repartitions to this I say, what about the trillions already given to blacks via welfare and special intrest bills passed by congress. Not to mention less than 1/4 of white men owned slaves.
Blacks just need to get off this fvcking self pity.
