lol we are all leftist now because we attack his viewpoint. Pot says nice to meet you kettle without the least bit of irony.

Anyways, I think the reason why people think the economy is doing bad is because a lot of people equate the stock market with the economy and except for the last few days, the market hasn’t been doing that great. Are prices higher than where they have been? Absolutely, has it made an impact on people’s spending? The numbers apparently say it hasn’t.

Mark my words, when the stock market goes up the general consensus will trend more positive. It’s stupid logic but people are pretty stupid to begin with.

I got to say I think you guys are delusional about the state of this country for a huge amount of people. I now know why the term elitist Democrat comes to be.

Wages and wealth inequality have gotten better but so has the cost of living, especially rent. Most of these people have no health care, often little to know paid or sick time off. Many are part-time and getting none of these things or they're working multiple part-time jobs.

It's rather disappointing and a bit disgusting to hear Democrats say now everybody's doing fine and wealth inequality doesn't really matter anymore.

The fact people like that think the Democratic party can do no better than Joe Biden in 2024 makes a lot of sense. It means you don't exist in reality

If voters are stupid enough to hand the country back over to Trump and the Republicans because the Democrats have not solved every single economic problem facing the totality of the population in a few years then we (or rather they) deserve what's coming.

There are reasons I moved to California besides just the weather.

This is a ridiculous post where did I imply the dams need to have solved every problem or even close? They can't in this system. You're just creating straw man arguments and looking really silly in the process. So because your criticized for not understanding the plight of many people now it's like oh well if they expected us to solve everything then they deserve everything we get.

So elitist Dem says Biden is the best we got, most most people are doing well economically, and if he doesn't win we deserve it.

I think that's a terrible attitude. Really shows why the dems struggle as a party.

I've found that right wingers don't really care if you're not 100% republican. They tend to "support" people who might not believe all of the diehard right wing beliefs and politics. Where are left wingers rage out with personal attacks and claims of MAGA and whatever else if you don't accept all dem political talking points 100%.

Look at the threads I've posted in - if you add up my viewpoints I'm 50/50. Yet I'm met with nothing but personal attacks from the leftists.

So what kind of business do you run? Do you grow opium for pharmaceutical companies legally? And also imbibe lot of your own product?

Cuz I want whatever drugs you're on dude.

I think that's pathetic.

Don't fall in love with politicians, fall in love with policy. Who's more likely to help out the people you're talking about over the long haul? The Democrats of course.

Of course people are irrational and if they're angry at Biden because a burrito is 1.50 more than it used to be or their city has refused to build housing for decades so the rent is high then that is their choice. I don't have to pretend that the consequences of that choice not earned by said people.

Biden is old as shit, but I don't think there are going to be enough votes against him for age or for perceived failures to really matter. If he's alive and still able to string sentences together a year from now, he'll be the candidate, barring some surprise decision not to run and to have Harris run instead.

Any polls you see now are totally useless. A large plurality of voters, unfortunately, don't pay attention to a god damn thing until around September of the Presidential election year. I'm sure if it's Biden vs Trump part II, the polls will tighten up as shitbag fascist losers rally around their proud criminal Strongman candidate, and a bunch of less shitty people rally around Biden because they don't hate America and aren't fascist shitbag losers.

That said, if it's Biden vs Trump, either could win. Looking back at 2016 and 2020, both Electoral College winners won by like 70,000 and 42,000 votes, respectively, spread out across a few swing states. Between COVID, natural deaths, and new shitbag conservatives being brainwashed by the dogshit media they consume, it'll probably be close.

What is more interesting to think about now is what happens if Trump is in a jail or prison cell if he wins. Oh geez will that be "interesting".

I always LOL at the whole fascist thing, like most of this group are sipping starbucks ordering doordash on $13/hr, smoking weed every day crying about fascism

I think I've shown I'm quite aware of the obstacles that Democrats face, and what's wrong with our country and political system.

However I think you're completely nuts to discount the human condition human emotion and human behavior and be like oh if people aren't political junkies enough and cut through all the jibber jabber and nonsense propaganda they hear daily, Well then they deserve the consequences and we will suffer too. I mean seriously?

If you are so pseudo intellectual that you cannot separate the fact that people have emotions people are not informed and It's a systemic effort that makes many this way. And some people are just not smart enough to get it. There are a million reasons to take into account the many many other things that create the human condition besides just thinking logically with great information at your fingertips all the time.

If you wish to not live in reality that shouldn't be my problem because the Democrats don't win the White House and Congress next year we're all going to suffer. Of course the wealthiest will suffer the slowest but ultimately any Democrat in a blue state's going to suffer.

To deny that a politicians attractiveness besides just logic is not a factor in politics is so so ignorant. Reagan and Clinton and Obama were all strong personalities that drew people to them. If you don't think an emotional attachment to politician is a critical factor in the reality of politics in this human condition than I'm saying you don't understand politics at all.

If Biden runs again, you are exactly right. And I will be just as upset as I was in 2016 and 2020 that the DNC pushes the most corrupt, ancient, unelectable people possible.

Again, you guys are pushing people away from the democratic party. I am super socially liberal, I financially lean slightly right. I would happily vote for an even halfway decent democratic candidate. In fact, I voted for Obama. But look at how I am treated because not every single one of our views align.

Sounds like speedy to me or whoever the guy was that was taking steroids.
Who was the guy who swore he was really a democrat but constantly wrote RWNJ talking points? SlowSpyder?

And now we have the “you liberals are so mean” schtick too, that one is as old as time 😂 “wah, you guys are going to push me away and make me vote for Trump again!”

What I mean is I would not expect the country, as we know it, to long survive another round of R control with Trump at the helm. This is one reason why I moved to a state with a GDP that exceeds France and has nuclear weapons.

We had two different Presidents named Bush that would like to argue about the necessity of excessive charisma in a candidate. It's a nice to have to be sure but you can't always get it.

God you Trump voters are so whiny and so snowflakey. Of course you voted for Trump twice and of course you're going to vote for him again. Which makes you trash. I mean end of story dude. It's okay you should be proud of what you are. But let's just establish facts and move on.

Papa Bush was not likeable but dubya actually had a likable persona to many.

I think Biden was the perfect guy in 2020. I've said it many times.

I just think that at the Democrats think that's the best we can do now then the party is a failure and I think most Democrats disagree with that. So I'm going to stick with the optimistic wing of the party.

Small businesses are kinda well-known for failing in their first few years, yeah?

The statistics behind years 1-3 are horrific. Like 90% or so fail.

That's not what I'm talking about. Picture framing shops, dog groomers, independent sports/shoe stores, they can't afford to pay workers $30/hr and end up closing shop.

I know the argument "if they can't afford to pay a fair wage they deserve to close!" But this all results in us choosing between wal mart or costco. Zero independent business. These are mega corps who funnel profits overseas for tax purposes. As a society, we will suffer because nowadays people have the socially accepted option of living in mom's basement and choosing not to work and be prideful for it.
