Online or IRL?

I think both sides have very "loud" people who post online, that really do not reflect the average voter.
IRL as well.
Yes, Dems have won the popular vote since 1992, excluding 2004, but this election is not going to be a cakewalk.

I always LOL at the whole fascist thing, like most of this group are sipping starbucks ordering doordash on $13/hr, smoking weed every day crying about fascism
I always LOL at BothSidesDoIt™ fascist enabling trolls pretending to have integrity.

You can pretend to perfectly align with a non-existing "middle ground" all you want. It's absolutely clear who you are by the hilarious nonsense you post.

Your drivel is what right-wing fascist-enablers think imaginary centrists sound like.

The thing is I'm not even expecting a candidate on the charisma level of a Bill Clinton or Obama.

Biden just happens to be the opposite of inspiring whatsoever and has insane negatives and disapprovals from both sides of the aisle. I mean who cares what maga pieces of shit think obviously, But we should care how independents and democrats feel about the democratic candidate. If you don't want to understand the electorate don't expect to win elections

Biden trailing in 5 battleground states.

To the people saying "but there's a year left to go," you do realize things can only get WORSE for Biden, right? IE, recession, worsening conflicts in Ukraine and ME, etc. Biden's numbers have been steadily slipping despite his relative successes and despite Trump's continued legal troubles. I mean you have Muslims, public enemy #1 or #2 to the GOP, even reconsidering their vote.

So what exactly is going to happen in a year that will change momentum in his favor?

You gotta admit, it would be a totally American thing to elect Trump again after all that's happened.

Then America deserves its destruction. Glad I live in blue state. If Trump is reelected despite all his criminality, misogyny, blatant grifting, lies, fraud etc. than that is what America wants. A strongarm man to take all their freedom and money in the name of freedom and money. It will be hilarious watching all the white trash southerners scream when all their subsidies are taken away. lol. No sympathy.

If Trump or really any of the leading GQP candidates become president, but especially Trump and DeSantis, it's going to be a war on blue states with the federal government. It's not going to be pretty at all. Us political junkies have to realize that we are not safe in more informed and decent blue states.

If Americans allow that to happen then they get what they deserve. We’ve all had this conversation before and many agree that many Americans need to really feel the pain of Republican policies in order to “wake up”.

It's not easy to overthrow entrenched fascist authoritarian governments, which is what will happen if those guys win in 2024. I mean this is THE election to determine if we go under many years of authoritarian far right rule.

So you’ve been wrong predicting the same thing repeatedly. Not just wrong, but hilariously wrong.

Did you analyze why you were wrong before and if so, how did that change your predictions now?

I’m well aware of the consequences. I can only worry about this so much. Americans have been pretty good at picking the right people, it’s those that control the process I worry about (gerrymandering, voter restriction laws, ignoring court orders, etc).

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

LOL you sure about that?

Lets see in my life time..

Reagan.. and Trump.. both let more than a million americans die to some disease.

Bush Jr.. who ignored and MISUNDERESTIMATED a dossier named BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO ATTACK THE UNITED STATES and let more than 50,000 Americans get wounded because he wanted to kick Saddam out.

Bush Sr.. who planted the seeds of devastating our middle class.

If that's par for picking the right people.. yep that's par for picking pretty shitty mechanics to fix their car too!

If anything, blame Clinton for not taking out Osama from 1996-2000....he could have done it after the Kenya bombings, but didn't.

Dude you are not helping at all with your random nonsense.

It's one thing to criticize what's going on with the Dems in regards to the mistakes they are making in saving us from the evil GQP, but it's another to just pull shit from your asshole and whatever conspiracy theory forum you find this shit on, and just muddy all the waters. Please stop

More bullshit whining in this thread. Biden's approval ratings are weak, but they've been in the low 40s for about two years. It bounces a bit, but basically hasn't changed. People can be highly emotional and very irrational (look in your mirror), but the facts don't change.

It's a real concern, but no his ratings have not been steadily slipping. It's also impossible to say it can only get worse. Numerically there's more upside than downside potential, unless a painful recession already started last month. Most Americans don't give two fucks about Ukraine or the ME so that is at most a mild headwind.

If more/many Muslims think that Trump is a greater friend of their religion and culture than Joe Biden (or literally any Democrat), then what are you gonna do?

There is no Barack Obama 2.0 to swoop in and save us in 2024.

lol we are all leftist now because we attack his viewpoint. Pot says nice to meet you kettle without the least bit of irony.

Anyways, I think the reason why people think the economy is doing bad is because a lot of people equate the stock market with the economy and except for the last few days, the market hasn’t been doing that great. Are prices higher than where they have been? Absolutely, has it made an impact on people’s spending? The numbers apparently say it hasn’t.

Mark my words, when the stock market goes up the general consensus will trend more positive. It’s stupid logic but people are pretty stupid to begin with.
This isn't it either. Although there was a bear market in 2022, U.S. equities have performed very well since the March 2020 lows. Now not all Americans invest in stocks, but enough do have 401k's so stock market performance does influence people's perceptions of the economy.

But again considering that many Republican voters openly admit their net worth (i.e. home equity and stock portfolios) is up and they're doing well, it's nonsense that they somehow claim the national economy is in the dumps. It's fine and all if they wish to believe it's all talent and hard-work and the federal government only acts as a headwind. But the vast majority of evidence confirms that the U.S. economy has been resilient and has shown more strength than weaknesses coming out of the pandemic.

If all this hoopla is about the NYT polling ... I've seen enough people (that actually know what they're talking about) say the samples and crosstabs were all kinds of wonky and to not put too much weight into it.

When all their subsidies are removed, living in a blue state won’t save you. Another Trump presidency means U.S.A as we know it is gone. The GOP positioning themselves to NOT lose again, ever

Were you one of those people claiming we were in a recession all during Biden's term when we were not. Recession was one of those lying talking points spread by Fox.

Since when did Muslims become public enemy #1 in this country? I suggest you confer with all our intelligence agencies and see who the #1 domestic terrorist threat is.

Maybe I should have been more specific and said the Dow Jones instead of stock market.

Whoa whoa whoa are you threatening an attack on the "country" ie a jan 6 moment?

Was that before or after Biden’s team legally changed the definition of a recession so we could magically not be in one anymore?

I never have claimed we are, or were in a recession. If anything, this admin deserves credit for as well as the economy as done post-pandemic. Maybe you are confusing my point about PRICES being high and that is what people see/feel and react to at the voting booth.

Re: Muslims, I meant public enemy as seen by the GOP.
