I don't even know why you're saying it as it's not relevant to my point. (I have no desire to debate affirmative action with you as that would require using statistics, something you do not understand)

I am taking your own words and drawing the obvious logical conclusions from them. If you want to say you've changed your mind and decided that blacks and hispanics are systemically disadvantaged I'm fine with that, but that's not what you claimed before. If you're going to stick with your claim that whites are in fact the disadvantaged ones then we're back to your racism again. Things like this are why you should think before you write.

You are creating the conclusions you want to work as they fit in your bubble. You aren't listening to what I'm saying though, you don't want to connect those dots, it isn't that they don't connect however.

He firmly believes that his position of privilege isn't privileged enough, that's all.

It's funny, because as a straight white male from a solid middle class family I knew I had privilege at a young age just from watching how the world dealt with people who weren't that. I didn't know what to call it, but I knew I had it, purely from the accident of birth. I had other advantages, as well, like all of my wits & appendages, a decent intellect, as well as the time & place of my existence. Through it all, I've mostly been lucky. I suspect it's much the same for Slow no matter how tightly he can wrap himself in the shroud of faux victimhood.

It isn't privilege to be intelligent and use that to your advantage. It isn't privilege because my father was around to help raise me. The bolded to me sounds like you are saying you are privileged because you are smarter than other races. That is an interesting way to look at it...

Nah, I just caught you contradicting yourself and I'm rubbing your face in it. Everyone here knows you'll never admit this error or any other so really the principal amusement is watching you tie yourself up into knots trying to pretend otherwise.

This is a meta study about racism and hring in the US. About as close to a scientific consensus as one can get.

And it's damning. It utterly destroys the narrative from the far right and proves we need more affirmative action and stricter enforcement.

http://www.pnas.org/content/114/41/10870.full

Abstract
This study investigates change over time in the level of hiring discrimination in US labor markets. We perform a meta-analysis of every available field experiment of hiring discrimination against African Americans or Latinos (n = 28). Together, these studies represent 55,842 applications submitted for 26,326 positions. We focus on trends since 1989 (n = 24 studies), when field experiments became more common and improved methodologically. Since 1989, whites receive on average 36% more callbacks than African Americans, and 24% more callbacks than Latinos. We observe no change in the level of hiring discrimination against African Americans over the past 25 years, although we find modest evidence of a decline in discrimination against Latinos. Accounting for applicant education, applicant gender, study method, occupational groups, and local labor market conditions does little to alter this result. Contrary to claims of declining discrimination in American society, our estimates suggest that levels of discrimination remain largely unchanged, at least at the point of hire.

A 36% handicap. Can you even begin to fathom what that means, on average, for a black american? When all else is equal, they get an automatic 36% handicap against them.

Facts do not lie. And as seems to be usual lately, the worldview of the far right is 180 degrees removed from actual, factual facts.

Denial doesn't make things go away. It only allows them to fester

I love how everything must be racism. So to cure this ghost racism, push racism against others. It simply hasn't worked, is broken policy, and you shouldn't be surprised it isn't working yet today. Neither you or I can see these applications, the resumes, etc. This is just, once again, finding some I'mright.com source to push a view, nothing more.

Also, since 1989. LOL

Apparently you don't understand science.

Can you explain the significance of a meta study to us?

I for one am totally shocked that when confronted with empirical research that tells you things you don't want to hear you find a way to ignore it.

You realize you do this constantly, right? Why are you so irrational?

Let's see the resumes and applications. Saying white people got 36% more calls back proves nothing by itself. This ignores all personal interaction, quality of resumes, applications filled out, etc. Were people more likely to be discriminated against in 1989 than today, too? But that weighs in on the average of what is supposed to apply today. This is nothing more than an I'mright.com study. But regardless, fighting racism with racism is the left's answer. It shouldn't be such a shock that it has failed and continues to fail.

Look who didn't even bother to read the thing he's declared proves nothing. lol. Literally everything you just listed as a problem is accounted for. Literally everything.

This is a great combination of irrationality and laziness on your part and this is exactly the sort of stupidity I'm looking for out of you. Comedy gold.

They put the answer before the question. At any rate, fighting racism with racism is not the answer.

Here, I found some I'mright.com articles too!

http://thefederalist.com/2015/07/07/sorry-everyone-america-isnt-that-racist/

You guys are funny, get an opinion and dig up something that affirms it for you and run with it. Nothing happens in a vacuum, though. You guys continually miss the forest for the trees.

LOL. You just tried to argue against a peer reviewed meta-analysis of 24 separate empirical research projects with two blog posts citing descriptive statistics with no analysis or research design.

Absolutely amazing. A-ma-zing.

Where did I say white people don't have access to these programs? There are plenty of white peopled duped into this lifestyle too. But it seems some minorities have been pushed into this dead end direction by the left in large numbers. The left is effectively saying some demographics are lesser people and need a handicap.
You don't think having responsible parents that are around to teach you skills and responsibilities is a privilege? That is one of the greatest privileges a person can hope for.

You keep ascribing things to racism that aren't actually racism (like affirmative action) and similtaneously complain that people describe everything as racism.

No, it isn't privilege. It is the norm, or should be. People that don't do that are handicapping themselves. The normal expectation is not privilege. If all white people cut off their child's right hand when born, is it privilege of other demographics to have two hands or might we point to the white demographic and say, "stop doing that, you're handicapping yourself"?

They are descriptive statistics and again, blog posts as compared to peer reviewed meta-analysis. Do you even know what that means? Jesus christ this should be embarrassing for you.

How to lie with statistics. Anyone can dig up some source to back up their view point these days, data is everywhere and and is bought and sold. These are the same people that knew we'd have Madam President by a landslide (and then claimed sexism when American rejected the worse candidate).
That is why it is important to look at the methods used and make sure that they are being used appropriately. This is one of the reasons peer reviewed sources are so important, along with expert consensus so that individual studies aren't taken out of the greater context.

I love how when it becomes obvious that you didn't even bother to read the thing you said was meaningless instead of apologizing or at least being embarrassed by your own stupidity you just make up another attack on it based on nothing.

Sorry buddy, the facts are once again telling you uncomfortable truths. The lengths you are willing to go to in order to preserve your bubble are pretty amazing though.

Once again you want things to be binary, and decide that the answer can only be one of the few you select for the multiple choice. But you ignore a lot of reality in doing so.

The left have become the party of racists, today. There is no denying that.

Wow, so children get to pick their parents? A more accurate example would not be requiring white people to cut off their child's right hand, but rather providing prosthetic hands to those those that need a hand and not allowing businesses to discriminate against those missing hands as long as they are able to meet the requirements of the job with limited accommodations. Just because something should be the norm has nothing to do with whether or not it is considered privilege.
