I read Wayne needs surgery in the offseason. I think he should retire but there is talk of bringing him back in more of a mentor role so as long as he could play as the third or fourth receiver, I bet he'll be back if his surgery goes well. I imagine they'd want to sign him to the vet minimum and load the offer with incentives, however.

If he takes a near minumum deal I would be surprised. The risk vs reward of playing for such little money makes a ton of guys think twice though I think he would be one of the few that would make that choice.
I think he is one of the few guys left that is playing for the love of the game. I got to meet him once and the guy was a genuinely nice and toughful person. He Totally went out of his way to interact with my kids when he didnt have to and was super nice.

His body is ok and the fear of a bigger injury and lifetime pain really weighs heavily on vets.

I actually think it would be great asset for the Colts if they get some rookie receivers and have Wayne accept a 4th depth chart slot and let him mentor them. He could always be that "safety" option in case someone gets injured and they need someone to step up and he wouldn't be terrible on some 4 receiver sets (I doubt many LBs could cover him).

The real question is would it be worth him taking that kind of pay cut for the risk of further injury. I don't know how large it would be to basically just be a sideline player, but it is more than retiring. I doubt he needs the money.

I guess they can't pick a WR now! Rofl.

I am really, really hoping the Cowboys go all defense this year. Even if they can't keep Murray, they need defense a lot more than RBs. Dunbar and Randle will do for now and they can put off a QB for at least another year.

Just days after the season is over, there's already multiple arrests for players. Have to wonder how much longer Goodell keeps his job.

Since he isn't going to publicly apologize to the Patriots and Kraft, his days are numbered!

Sitting around so I started watching tape on some draft prospects and some edits of the bowl games and big games of the season. Some interesting things I saw

Randy Gregory is small. I bet that is 220. He looks so lanky I just dont see him having 4-3 size for a DE let alone rush outside linebacker. Serious bust potential. His school is known for churning out big boys and if he didnt grow there its unlikely that he will fill out like poeple want him to. He got owned a TON in one on ones and had to be moved around to get favorable matchups against weaker players. I just dont see it unless he comes in at 240-250 at the combine. I bet hes 220 right now.

Shane ray has a quick first step but takes small strides and has no real speed. I bet his 40 is suspect as well as his 20. I just dont see him being fast enough to beat most athletic tackles in the NFL. There were games where he was awesome and too many where he wasnt. I wouldnt spend a top 10 on either him or gregory.

Beasley and Fowler much better overall prospects.

Really hope bears look at trading down six or seven spots to gain a late second or early third. The second pick at 7 has almost as much value as a late first this year so that could gain another 3 round.

BIG mistake if bears try to win now staying in a 4-3 because of personell and even a hybrid line to just make it easier to use Jared Allen. Team needs to trade ANY one of value outside of Alshon and do a real rebuild. Bears were third oldest team last year and they arent getting any younger. If the team CANT win a superbowl next year which they cant they have to look at shedding these bad contracts and getting size to play end and backer in a 3-4.

The more tape I watch of fangio the more enamoured of him I am scheme wise and how he uses his players. Guy should have been a HC candidate and I think I would have prefered to have him over fox now.

The bears HAVE to trade Cutler this year. This will be the ONLY year where he will have any value with the lack of free agent and draftable QBs. Some people list this as a reason to keep Cutler but I see it as the exact reason you do. This team wont win a SB so gaining some depth and talent will help the team long term vs a best possible 8 and 8.

Team should have been rebuilt when trestman got hired but those idiots kept all those lovie players and they mutinied on him. Why the fuck would anyone think they could do better on players that QUIT.

I love Forte more than any back since peyton including Anderson who was the man. Forte has two years left probably at elite and the bears wont win in those two years so his value is actually fairly high since he is in his prime and there are at least 6 teams in need of a starter in the next season. I dont think Kadeem is the answer however and I would draft a big bruiser like David Cobb or any of the other 10 possible starters available this year at RB in the mid rounds.

As the bear stand now with fewer picks because of trades last year cant afford to draft a HB with this count so they NEED to add at last 4 more picks to get what they need. All those picks will also make the salary cap work for you for the next four years.

Jennings has to go or resign for less. We could pick up one of the San Fran CB Free agents with that and still put money towards Devin MCourdey or however you spell his name. If bears get an elite FS and draft a big in the box guy like Tartt from Samford or Harris from VA in the third or second respectively.

Bears should trade Marshall to get the most value since he is still elite and has been SUPER consistent his whole career. With Cutler and Marshall and Forte traded for two seconds and a third that puts the bears in line for drafting needs at DE DT OT C SS and possibly a kicker in the seventh in Kyle Brindza

My bears draft would be
trade down in the first so someone can leap frog and get Amari Cooper who I can see teams REALLY having a hard on for.
First pick Danny Shelton to play Zero tech NT. Guy is gonna be a pro bowler for 10 years just watch

second round trade down 4-10 spots and pick up Cameron Erving C-OT-Guard prospect who played EVERY spot on the line and was great at a Tackle and pretty good in motion as a guard. If hes not available I would take Danielle Hunter from LSU or The DE Ozidhugwa from UCLA or Arik Armstead if he drops or any other of the six or so DE/Rush backer prospects in this years draft.

With the extra second rounder I would pick Todd Gurley if hes still around or BPA like an OT like the Daryl Williams though I think hes gonna slide to the third. If a elite CB like Marcus Peters or Ifo from Oregon the bears would be set.

with the three or two third rounders I would go for depth at G DE OLB and if an speedster falls to the third like Dorial Green Big boy they should pounce. Devin Smith from Ohio state or would be a good third rounder or possibly someone like Laken Thomlinson or Arie Koundijio to upgrade the RUN blocking the team would be set.

Team needs are gonna be RT so looking at Jake Fisher in the late second or third via the traded picks would upgrade the team from the get go. I think Mills needs to be converted to guard. I also think that Bushrod is a liablility at LT but the team doesnt really have any option unless it gets lucky and a guy like Peat drops into the second-not likely.

I really doubt DGB falls past the second round.. and I'm still bitter for losing Lord Fangio.

For my 49ers mock, I'm hoping we get Kevin White (WR) and Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (CB) in the first two rounds. Would also like to see Owamagbe Odighizuwa (DE, and had to Google his name.. lol) drafted but I don't know if we'll be in a position to move up at the end of the 1st for him.

Is it just me, or do all these national signing day things just look ridiculous?

"Hey ma! I'm puttin on a hat!"

As much as I agree with you, we do get gems like this snap from Wilson's draft day:

I guess it's no surprise what Golden Tate? saw in Wilson's (now ex) wife

Kevin White to me is the most complete guy available at WR. Guy has everything INCLUDING sick production. IFo I cant spell his name and Odizumbafitness are such good players when you see them live. Both guys have lived up to their potential and havent hit their cieliing talent wise. Great choices.

lord fangio has a nice ring to it.

Do you think the Niners will sign both FA corners?

Oh, that makes more sense.

bitch be gangbangin his receivers?

man what a bitch

reminds me of the end of Sandbergs Career in chicago. his wife sleeps around with multiple members on the team and he loses the ability to hit the ball. Guy was out of baseball two months later.

Cheers for Wilson king of prussia to overcome the bitch!

I think we re-sign one, but not both. I'd prefer Culliver as I believe he has more potential. It really depends who ends up getting cut though.. we're just barely under the salary cap I believe. Possible cuts that I've seen are Ahmad Brooks, Vernon Davis, Stevie Johnson. Also, if Justin Smith retires, DE becomes a pretty big need IMO but it also frees up over $4mil. I've already accepted we won't be able to re-sign Gore, which hurts, Iupati and Crabtree.

heard an interesting rumor. Ravens want to offload H Ngatas contract and the current rumor of Brandon Marshall to the ravens is getting traction. Could the two squads trade up and be close to both their cap hits? Ravens have Jernigan in the wings dont they?

Could be a win win for both teams. Rumor is a rumor though.

Mock draft. Disagree with a bunch but ok.

Bears will take Shelton before Shane Ray I bet and hope.

Phillip Dorsett. 5 10 and fast. Cant believe this guy is being considered a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Vick Beasley

I see this guy as a better pro than Shane Ray and Randy Gregory. NFL frame and fluid athlete. Guy looks like a power forward and has great quickness and burst. Ray may have a better first step but this guy has a complete package and good coaching and instincts. Great college production and I think can play in any system. Guy just looks like a beast and schooled some great tackles this year.

oh and his nickname is beast lol

Denzel Perryman Guy looks like a young Ray Lewis minus the knives. His tape last year was a better and it looks to me like he was skinnier. Still he just smashes people and I can see the Colts picking him with their late first. Instant identity in the middle for many teams. if he lasts to the second I hope the bears pounce! Monster!
