Agree it's stupid but it's also the labor rules the player's union agreed to. And I think my employer has lots of stupid rules, but I follow them since I like getting paid. If my salary potential was as high as Josh Gordon, you'd be damn sure I'd follow every rule to the letter and would criticize the stupid rule after I retired.
